Chapter 8 Cody left the hospital in a wheelchair. He felt like an i***t, but one of the doctors explained that it was policy. Women who gave birth and messed up teenagers all had to be escorted out on four wheels. His dad signed paperwork, thanked the staff profusely, and then helped him into a rental car. “I was planning on buying a second car when I got down here,” Cody’s dad said as they pulled out of the parking lot, “but things have been so hectic. And money’s not exactly…anyway, I got a good deal on this for the time being. Not too shabby, either. What do you think?” “Yeah, it’s great.” “I think you’ll like the hotel.
