Cody made sure he had his keycard to get back into his room, and left early to wait for Lin in the lobby. If Adam’s Monster was still following him, better to be safe in the lobby with lots of eyes around than trapped in his little room.
Lin showed up in a silver El Dorado. The vehicle was clean and smelled nice as he opened the door and got in. In the back of his brain part of him screamed that he was acting foolishly by getting into a stranger’s car, but he brushed the concerns to the side. Lin and the others had to be better than facing the hours alone.
“I’m really glad you decided to come to our meeting,” Lin said. “I think you’ll like the others. Caleb didn’t put his best foot forward, but you’ll warm up to him.”
