Revelations of a Dominatrix Chapter 1: Tamed
My phone's alarm woke me up at 4 am. "Another day, another chance to save lives" that's my mantra every morning I need to go to the hospital and attend to my patients needs. I smiled, pushed myself out of bed, and went straight to the shower. The warm water splashed and dripped from my body. I started to lather my hair with my lavender scented shampoo then grab my soap and slide it to my body slowly. I feel every inch of my skin sensually as my hand glides to my sensitive n*****s then I caught myself wondering how long it had been since anyone had touched me with tenderness rather than clinical necessity. . This continued for almost 15 minutes. Suddenly my alarm rang again and brought me back to reality. I need to rush now because I have work to do. I rinsed everything and wrapped my hair and body with my towels. I opened my closet and found a little tan knee length a-line dress. I grabbed it and laid it on my bed. I then went to my underwear drawer. I ran my fingers to the panties folded neatly in there then the feeling of lace captured my attention. I used to wear lacy lingerie before, especially going on dates or meeting potential "playmates" but with my work, pleasure and business don't mix well. I grab my cotton undies and nude stockings and proceed to my morning routine.
I arrived at the hospital before my 5am call time. I walked straight to the lift and pressed the button #2 for the 2nd floor. I feel good about today in my tan dress, white coat, and impractical ivory heels, I looked more prepared for a hospital brochure than a twelve-hour shift. I feel like I am walking on a catwalk in the hallways of St. Monique Medical Center. I know I am not really for modelling at least my body isn't. I am 163cm tall, curvy and plain though my friends always tell me that a little glam session is all I need to "flourish" as if I'm a flower waiting to bloom. For me, sunscreen, powder and lipstick is "glam" enough. I feel confident in my skin and that's enough for me. Being in my third year of internal medicine residency I have no time to fix myself. "Good Morning Doc Ella" my inner monologue was shattered by a high pitch energetic voice of Harriet, our very efficient emergency room nurse, dressed in her blue scrub suit, which creates a good contrast on her brunette hair kept in a bun, with everything, yes I mean everything useful, hanging from her pockets. I smiled at her as she handed me my English breakfast tea with milk. She begins walking with me telling me the latest updates about my patients reminding me that my colleague Anya is having a toxic day at the Emergency Room. "I'll just have my rounds then I will go down to the ER to help her. Anya is my best friend from Med school. We are the Yin and Yang of each other, she is the toxic one I'm the benign, she moves fast and has a massive burst of energy and I move slowly and calculatedly.
I began rounds on the second floor and worked my way up to the sixth, examining each patient, updating progress notes, and ordering tests and medications. . meticulously examining them, making progress notes on each and ordering new tests and medications on their charts, some I get to discharge on the same day as the others need more attention and care. It's already 9 am on my watch. 4 hours passed so fast and I felt my first attack of hunger pangs. I made my way to the emergency room peeking in if Anya had the chance to sit and eat breakfast, well, she doesn't, she walks around like a chicken without its head. Trying to manage our 12 bed emergency room. I decided to go and eat my breakfast and maybe grab some coffee and a croissant for poor Anya. I went to the hospital cafeteria eating my usual ham and cheese sandwich and grabbing Anya's croissant and coffee. As I sat on one of the secluded tables, which I liked because of the silence, Tobey handed me a hot chocolate drink. Oh yes Tobey the ever attentive and sometimes annoying Tobey. He is one of the hospital administrators that kept on giving me "Free stuff". One day it's hot chocolate, sometimes it's ramen and recently a free parking spot near the entrance of the hospital. Anya likes the free things and being "Friends" with the hospital administrator means we get supplies as fast as we requested it. My colleagues think that he might have another motive for his generosity but I really don't give it a thought as my focus is to work and improve the status of mankind, as if I really think that way. I am just not interested in the guy. I smiled at him as he handed me my hot chocolate and thanked him politely, the way subordinates thank their boss. He wanted to sit with me on the table but I excused myself immediately telling him I needed to bring the coffee to Anya before it got cold. I grabbed the paper bag with coffee and croissant and dismissed myself from the situation.
At the Emergency Room, Anya looked at me as if she saw an angel. I handed her the paper bag with her breakfast as she rushed to get her coffee having a big gulp of it and breaking a sweet smile on her made up but stressed face. Her thick black hair looks like a mess. I looked around and saw her toxicity "ummmm.. Anya go to the pantry give yourself a break... I'll handle this". She hugged me with one arm as the other was handling her coffee. "Thank you" she blurted as she ran to the pantry. I reviewed the charts and the ER slowed down. The nurses were thankful that I was able to neutralize Anya's toxicity. I sent the stable patients to the out patient department and just managed the real emergency cases. Little by little the bulk of the patients were admitted and the number of patients in the ER went down to only a few beds. Anya went out of the pantry all fresh and polished. She thanked me for the "miracle" I just pulled. She said I had a way of making the patients follow me putting all their trust in me that they will be managed at the outpatient department or convincing them they need admission, something that she admittedly doesn't have. I chuckled with her admission and told her I have a very strong "convincing power" and she shook her head telling me you just know how to make them follow, you're a girl-boss. We just laughed about our little exchange and as I picked up my things to go back to the ward she begged me not to leave and just stay and contradict her toxic ways. It's hard to resist Anya and her "cute puppy eyes" . I stayed with her at the ER, leaving for a few ward calls but returning back the moment I'm done. We continued manning the Emergency room from the little cuts and bruises to full on intriguing chest pain. We managed each of them thinking this too shall pass. Then just like that it's 5pm time to clock out from work. As soon as the night shift doctors arrived, I grabbed Anya as we rushed over the biometrics timer, 5:30 pm, not bad, just 30 minutes endorsement time and we are good to go. Anya was picked up by Gary, her long time boyfriend, he opened the window from his side of the car and gave me a nod as Anya excitedly opened the car door.s I waved goodbye to them from the lobby. I walked towards my conveniently parked car breathed in and out, composed myself and whisper " it's time to go home."
