Lilith POV: I was in the living room watching twilight and singing the song in the movie by Cristiana Perri when mom came. "Lilith you are not waiting for anyone for a thousand years. you going to get married soon." I was actually shock. what does she mean by that? " What do you mean?" I asked because my mom don't say anything when she is not going to do something crazy. I know my mom. "Well I found a husband on tinder for you. you can look." She said and pass me her phone. I took the phone and saw a handsome man smiling beautifully in the picture. He was very handsome but not my taste. "Mom I'm sorry but I don't like him. I'm waiting for Adrian to marry me when he is back. he doesn't break his promise and I don't break mine too." I said to mom and went back watching my movie. it have been my favorite movie since Adrian travel to abroad. I use the song in it for encouragement that Adrian will be back no matter what. I didn't expect mom to take the remote and turn the television off. " Mom!" I shouted. "Lilith listen to me! I'm your mom! Even though you are grown up now I'm still your mom. I'm the one who gave birth to you not you! I won't sit there and watch you get old before you think of getting married!!" Mom yelled at me. "Can you at least let me stay peacefully in my father's house?! You always hang marriage on my neck. You no what? I'm going upstairs!" I yelled back and standing back to walk away. "I'm your mother and I will make sure you get married before you be in your 30s. Sign it on the wall! And as you was saying your father's house! If I stayed there like you are doing, will I be able to get married to your father and give birth to you?" Mom yelled and I stop in my tracks. I didn't even turn my head and went upstairs. I remembered the gift Adrian got me on my birthday. It was a black hoodie and I love it although it's black. I heard my phone buzzed and it was Lucy. Lucy is my best friend and she knows Adrian so well. Lucy also have a step brother who have always been her crush but Brother Nathan didn't love her like Adrian did and she will always cry and come to my house. Especially when she saw Brother Nathan with someone. She will lock her room all day without eating and Aunty Lorisa will be very worried and come to my house but the stubborn Lucy won't even mind my call. Unless Brother Nathan is the one calling her. I picked-up my phone and answered the call. "He...." I didn't finish talking when Lucy cut my words off. "Oh my gosh, Lilith I'm so happy!! Guess what?!" I heard Lucy's happy screaming. "Your mom bought you a car or found a new job?" I said guessing. " Oh girl you so dull! By the way Nathan proposed marriage to me!!"I heard her happy shouting. " What!!!!" I screamed couldn't believe my ears. "Oh yes!!! It's a yess!! I thought he was playing when he said at first. I couldn't help hugging him before I let him finish his sentence!" She spilled out with a happy voice. "I'm happy for you Lucy. I hope you guys will be together forever." I said. I felt a little jealous. by the way I need to be happy for my best friend. One day, Adrian will also be here and proposed to me. "We deciding to get married soon!!" Lucy burst out. I can imagine her smiling. I wish to be like her. " Wow that's really nice. By the way when will you get married?" Lucy asked making get quiet for a while. "Hello?" Lucy said wanting to confirm I'm there. "Lucy I'm waiting for Adrian."I said quietly. "Lilith I understand you but you are doing too much. Even though I wait for Nathan to propose to me, he was in the same roof as I am. And at least I can see him everyday. He can smile to everyday but as for you he is not here. Who knows if he's dead or married?" Lucy said seriously. I became quiet for a while before I talked. "It's enough Lucy!" I shouted. "I'm sorry Lilith I shouldn't have said that." She quickly apologize. " It's okay Lucy. I shouldn't have shouted at you." " It's ok let's change the subject." Lucy said. " Sure." We talked for a while before I hang up the call and slept. *Finally it's monday morning. Time for work.* I wake up early and dress up for work. I was at the dining eating breakfast when mom came downstairs. "Good morning Lilith, Are you going to work?" She asked. "Yes and sorry for yesterday. I shouldn't have walked out on you." I apologize. "It's okay. You are my daughter." Mom said. I work at Dad's company. I'm his Assistant. Dad is on a business trip to New York with his Secretary, Nick. and I'm in charge of the office now. " I gotta go. I will be late, mom. I have many work undone." I said and stand to go. "Lilith let me tie your tie well for you." Mom is not like this. I think she is doing something. "Mom are you doing something?"I asked because my mom is like the devil. she doesn't give anything for free. I think she is doing something unreasonable. "No I just think of being a good mother." She said. "Okay " I said and nodded. Mom don't give something for free.
