The red door
My life? How to put it into words on a blank sheet of white paper…
Being an outsider looking through the window of my home you’d think me to be quite normal, happy even. But there are things that linger behind closed doors, secrets that should never be shared, secrets that should be yours and only yours for sharing that secret with another well I suppose your about to find out…
What make sharing a secret so dangerous, secrets are often shared among those you trust and care for but there are secrets out there, that if shared the one you love you could possibly lose, so there comes a time in your life where you must chose loneliness, for being alone may be the only way to protect those you care for…
I was only child when the reed door arrived, I sat there starred for quite some time unsure of what to do next. I slid my out of my bed as my little feet touched cold wooden floors of my bedroom, step by step I slowly walked toward the red door, my little fingers slowly turning the golden nob it was cold but not a kind of cold you feel during a stormy winter, it was like shiver that ran all through my tiny body as reached my soul. I opened the door and stared into a white light unsure what to do next, I slowly stepped through the frame of the door as shut behind me and what I found was quite extraordinary and quite different from anything I had seen before but when I turned around the door that was once there had now vanished unable to return to my world.
So, I stood there a little girl in a cold dewy forest alone and afraid
I pulled my feet out of the wrecked goo beneath me and I just started walking I did not know where I was going, but there had to be somewhere, somewhere safe and warm and bright so I just kept walking. I could feel shadow watching me and voices whispering.” Luna” I started running as fear ran through my body like poison in blood, my heart beating so fast I swear it was going to fall out of my chest, I just keeping running until I smelt something burnt. I looked up toward the sky and saw smoke so ran towards it hoping that whatever it was, it would not harm me. I finally reached the end of the forest and ran into a field and there stood Infront of me at a distance a small cottage with smoke coming out of the chimney so ran as fast as I could towards it hoping there was someone inside who could help find the red door and return home to my family.
I stopped running and slowly walked toward the cottage with caution unaware of what might be inside, I heard a voice, so I stopped to look around and spotted a boy hiding in the bushes next to the cottage under a window. “don’t” He waved his hand to call over, he must be hiding for a reason. I couched down and made my way to him he grabbed my long skinny arm and yanked me down. “Who are you” I asked afraid but not of the little boy but whom he might be hiding from. “my name is Giblet, this is my house”, he stared at me eyes big and brown, his thin pink lips perched together, “There is someone in my home threatening my mother”.
