Esmeray *10 years ago* Suddenly the warning bells started ringing and the alarms to the pack house started to go off. I was terrified and took off to find my father. As I ran down the hall I was snatched up by my brother Koray he told me I needed to listen to him and do exactly as he said. Koray had just had his 19th birthday which meant he was starting his Alpha training so he was always bossing me around, but this time I could tell it was serious. I heard the pack screaming outside the pack house and saw everyone shifting and running. I caught a glimpse of my mother’s beautiful grey wolf Heather charging out of the front doors. “Koray what’s going on where’s daddy? Where’s mommy going?” Koray said nothing as he looked down at with a sad look on his face. We made it to my fathers smaller personal office in the west wing of the pack house. He only used this office when he was meeting with other pack members. “What are we doing in here Koray? I want to find Daddy.” Koray sat me down gently and looked at me with tears in his eyes “ I need you to promise me that you will stay quiet and that you will not open this hatch for anyone unless they say the code word we talked about Esmeray.” I was still so confused as he pushed aside my fathers desk and the grey crescent moon rug that was on top of it and opened a small hatch to a secret room. He ushered me towards the secret room as tears were streaming down my face “ Please don’t leave me in here. I promise I’ll do what you tell me to do. I can help. Please Koray I want to stay with you” When he looked at me his tears were flowing freely “ Esmeray you have to promise me that you will not open this unless some says the code word. You are special we can’t risk them getting to you. We will explain everything when we come find you. I love you Esmeray we all do.” He hugged me right but only for a minute. He wiped my tears and handing me a back pack and a watch. “If no one comes with in 3 days come out and run as fast as you can to the pack north of us.” “I don’t know what pack that is. I’m scared why can’t you just stay with me Koray. When will you come back to get me” “The Blue Crescent pack Esmeray look for the tall blue crescent moon on a white flag and run for it. When I shut this hatch turn the lock immediately” with that he lowered me gently down into the tiny room and shut the hatch. I turned the lock as I heard the desk being scooted back over the hatch and then door burst open and be slammed shut and locked. I could hear distant screaming and fighting for the next 6 hours. Then I heard my mothers mind link “I love you my sweet Esmeray. Remember your special gifts we talked about. You must never show anyone these until the time is right” I tried to respond but the bond went silent and I couldn’t reach her. I started panicking as I tried to link Daddy and Koray and the bond was silent. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t understand why I couldn’t reach them. I had only just learned how to start mind linking and how it worked so far the only people I knew how to reach were mommy, daddy, and Koray. After what felt like the longest 12 hours of my life I heard the door to the office open. I stayed silent and was hardly even breathing. I was terrified and didn’t know what was happening. Finally I heard something scoot across the floor. Then I heard two voices talking they sounded familiar. “ Luna Selene” a man said and I knew these were the magic words but the voice was not my daddy’s or Korays voice. I sat for a couple minutes and waited and then I heard the voice say the words again “Luna Selene” I slowly undid the lock and lifted the hatch. As soon as it was opened I was lifted out my Gamma Ben. He hugged me tightly while crying and saying he was sorry over and over. I looked over his shoulder to see his mate Gamma Lena crying too. I pulled back and looked at them confused “What’s wrong Gamma Ben? Where’s mommy and daddy? Why didn’t Koray come get me?” “Why can’t I mind link them? What’s wrong?” Gamma Ben cleared his throat “I’m sorry Esmeray they’re gone. The rogues got to them. We tried to save them but they got to them” With that I felt like my whole world had been shattered. I screamed and cried and begged the moon goddess to bring them back to me. I finally fell asleep from crying so hard and woke up 2 days later. The next 6 months were a blur for me. It was revealed this attack had been planned and my father Alpha Thomas had been preparing for this by switching everything over to me. I learned that one day I would become the Alpha of Dark Moon Pack. Levi 13 years ago My father has been gone for a whole week. He promised to bring home a new Luna when he came back. My mom was the first Luna but she left when I was 1. My father says she didn’t want me and that no one else did either so he had a hard time finding a new Luna. I just hoped this one came home with him and was nice. While my dad was gone I got to stay with Suzie our cook and her son my best friend Trevor. He was bigger than me probably because he didn’t get punished like I do. I hated when my father came back he was usually in a bad mood and it was always from something he said I did. I waited for him at the foot of the stair that led up to our personal house. I wasn’t allowed to stay in the pack house because father says I am just a distraction. I sneak over there with Trevor sometimes and watch the warriors train. I would like to be a warrior when I grow up but father says I’ll never be strong enough for that. His car pulled up and I was already nervous. I could always tell as soon as he stepped out if it would be a bad day. He got out and I saw his mean cold glare. There was no Luna with him so I’m sure she hadn’t wanted me and turned him down. “Get my bag Levi now!” I rushed to the trunk to grab it. I didn’t dare disobey when he was mad like this “Yes sir.” As soon as I got inside I could see it was going to be a really bad day and he was going to be extra mean to me. I stayed silent as I sat the bag in front of his door. “Do you know why this Luna said no Levi?” “Was it because of me father?” “Yes it was because of you. She said she could never raise such a stupid and pathetic little boy” “I should have gotten rid of you before you were ever born. I never should have brought you and you b**** home.” “I’m sorry father. I’m sure the next one will be right for you” This for someone reason really set him off. I had tried to be polite but that rarely ever worked. He grab his belt and gave me many lashings. After he did this I was sent to my room for three days. I was brought one meal and two glasses of water. My room only consisted of my bed, a small dresser with my clothes, and a nightstand with a lamp. I wasn’t allowed to have toys or books. Father said those were for good little boys and I was not a good little boy. On the third day Suzie finally came and got me. She had convinced my father it had been long enough. I was never sure why my father hated me so much. This was probably one of many beating I had received.
