Chapter 1
My name is Andréa Edwards. I am 17 years old, 5'6, long light brown hair, Caramel skin tone and green eyes. I am the daughter of the most powerful Alpha in existence. You would say he is the king of our kind. Alpha Andrew Edwards of the Redmon Pack. People feared him and yet respected him.
When I was 6 years old, I saw my mother get killed by a pack of Rouges.
****FLASHBACK****
My mother and I were having a picnic by the pond, like we do most days. The area was filled with the most beautiful flowers. I was swinging myself in circles, giggling, enjoying being outside. My mother Luna Maribel Edwards was sitting on the blanket laying out our lunch, I ran to her " mama, mama look what I got you!" I handed her a single white daisy. That's beautiful my little bug I love it! I watched her put the flower in her hair, she reminded me of a princess from one of my story books. She saw me staring and tapped my nose, love you bug. Now go on and play, when your papa comes will have lunch.
I hugged my mother not knowing it would be my last. I ran towards the field of flowers. "stay where I can see you Andréa!" I dropped to the ground when I saw a caterpillar on a rock, when I heard a bunch of growls coming from the other direction. I stood up searching for my mom, I saw her trying to fight off 5 rouges in human form. I screamed "Mama!" Next thing I know, I see a wolf that looked bigger then rest just staring at me, I was so mesmerized by his ocean blue eyes. My mother shouted which brought me out of a haze RUN! Andréa, RUN! I looked at my mother who had tears in her eyes mouthed " I love you", before she shifted into her wolf.
As I started running, I heard a loud howl, I was so scared. Tears were running down my face I could barely see in front of me. I ran so fast; I didn't realize that I was nearing the pack house. I ran face first into to what felt like a brick wall, I looked up it was my father. I started to crying harder, mommy! " Andy baby calm down, where is your mother? All of a sudden, my father let out an agonizing howl, that sounded like death. He fell to his knees, all he said was MATE!"
****END FLASHBACK****
I am standing at my mother's grave site. I placed white daisy on her stone. I get down and sit on my knees, I wiped away the leaves. Oh mama, I wish you were here. I miss you still so much. My 18th birthday is coming up in a few days. I'll be able to shift soon and hopefully find my mate. I wish you were here to guide me through all of it. Dad's been great at raising me along with uncle Seth, but nothing can compare to a mother's love.
I still feel like a piece of me is missing, I still can't figure out why this had to happen, we were at that pond every day. None of this makes any sense, I still have dreams about that day, those piercing blue eyes staring at me. Part of me still blames dad for not being there with us. I know you wouldn't want me to but I can’t help it. I'm trying. I exhale, I place a kiss on my finger tips and place my hand on her stone. I'll see you soon mama. I stood up and started my way back to the pack house.
