CHAPTER 9
Stan and Rissa stopped at the boutique on the second floor. Stan sat in a chair up front while Rissa gathered a few clothes to use until she could fetch her own. Rissa gathered a gown, some tee- shirts and some jeans. She also included some underwear. She was glad Stan had stayed up front when she included the under clothes.
When she went to check out, the clerk assured her Brenda called and the clothes were paid in full. She packaged them up and handed them to Rissa with a cheerful smile and an invitation to come back soon.
Rissa joined Stan at the front and found him grinning. He had heard the clerk being so friendly. “She is just doing her job,” remarked Stan.
“She wouldn’t be so friendly if I was paying on my salary,” said Rissa.
