Chapter 1 This Is What You Owe Me
I stood in front of the Green's mansion with trepidation. I had just visited my mother at Merano Hospital.
As I proceeded through the gates, the usual beautiful scenery of the Greene's place was revealed before me.
The magnificent mansion, the beautiful lawns, the bars and everything… but nothing looked appealing to me. Not because of familiarity, I had practically lived here indebted to Hurley Greene all my life.
A Few workers who were working within the compound bowed in greeting as they saw me. Yes, I was their boss' mistress, I deserved as much as that.
Proceeding through the lawns, I took my first step into the mansion, but my phone suddenly beeped, making me jump slightly.
Bringing out my phone, my heart throbbed as I saw the caller. It was my mother. She was asleep when I visited earlier. She must have woken up, I muttered as I picked up the call.
"Mum… I was there but…."
"You never listened to me!" She cut me off from the other end angrily.
"I know you are back at the Greene's mansion! What do you think you're like when you're still living there!? It's all out! Hurley is going to marry another woman!" My mother's voice sounded strained from the other end and it broke my heart, she wasn't supposed to shout.
"If you are still willing to be a mistress in that house, I will stop cooperating with the doctors for my treatment! Yes! I am leaving!"
"Mother!" My eyes widened as I heard the sound of rustling over the phone. I knew it wasn't an empty threat. Mother had been against my involvement with Hurley after she realized that I was just his mistress. She had always wanted me to quit and this was definitely her last resort. But her health…
"But mum!.... Arg!!," I yelled in frustration as I looked at the dead phone, she had hung up. I dialed her line repeatedly but she didn't pick up.
Running my hand through my hair, I grimaced and burst into the mansion, unsure of what to do.
My gaze darted around and I spotted Hurley. He was standing by the window in the common room, watching me with a half smile plastered on his face.
I walked up to him in trepidation, determined to make my request.
"Hurley…our relationship has been long enough... I think I have paid all of my debts…"
"...Can you let me go and let go..." I said hoarsely, my voice inaudible as I said the last sentence.
Hurley's eyes darkened and he slowly walked towards me, making me stagger backwards. He grabbed me by the collar and dragged me into the bedroom.
He threw me on the bed and pressed me down, glaring fiercely at me with his blood-red eyes.
"What qualifications do you have to say such a thing? What qualifications do you have!?" He gritted, shaking me furiously.
"I……" As soon as I uttered a word, he covered my mouth in his. Like a beast, he ravaged my lips, mouth, and tongue, kissing me roughly.
He slid his hands under my shirt, ripping it apart. His eyes lit up and he flared his nose as he stared at my surplus burst and pristine white skin.
My brassieres fell beside me and a wave of sweet pain tethered through my body as he clamped his teeth on one of my n*****s.
"Hurley!!!" I whimpered but my cry was like his impetus.
He pinned my shoulders into the bed, sucking, biting and licking my neck and breast roughly.
One of his hands left my shoulder. It spanned all the way to my waist pulling my skirt and panties off at a go.
"Hur…" I whispered and screamed as he threw my legs apart and rammed his whole length into me.
While I breathed heavily, He held my hips with his hands and with powerful thrusts, he dug in and out of me.
My body shook vigorously and I was out of breath, I could barely keep up with his pace.
"Yeah! Common…" he yelled in ecstasy and smacked one of the cheeks of my butt, thrusting harder.
Holding back my tears, I shut my eyes and gripped the sheets tightly. I would be sore after this, there was no doubt.
Moulding my breasts in his hands, he thrust faster and faster. "Hurley…." I muttered, but my plea was drowned by his loud moan. He held my shoulders tightly and with a faster speed, and more powerful thrust, he spilled into me, reeling all the way.
"Do you think I will let you go, uhm?" He breathed hard and rolled away from me, smacking my breast.
"You know what? This is what you owe me..." He said in a disgusting tone and got out of bed still looking mad.
Hearing this, my heart sank. Yes, I owed him and in this life, I didn't think that I could repay my debts.
A few years back, I caused the death of his parents. They died in a plane explosion because of my betrayal.
After the crisis, Hurley turned from the caring gentleman that he was, he became a beast so cold and irrational. And I was stuck by his side.
I heard the sound of the door, it was the bathroom's door. It was followed by a cold snort and the sound of a shower. I knew that he was preparing to leave, which made me somewhat relieved.
Soon, he emerged naked. Water droplets dropped from his wet skin and he patted it dry.
He glanced at me, and said deliberately, "I'm getting engaged next week."
Of course, I knew he was getting engaged, but hearing it from his mouth still made me feel a twinge of pain.
All my life, I had had dreams of the day when I would stand in front of everyone wearing a white wedding dress and smiling for no one but Hurley. But now, reality hit me hard, my dreams were just dreams.
Unable to respond, I shut my eyes, relishing my pain.
Suddenly, my phone beeped. I shot up from the bed, remembering my mother's threat earlier. She won't do such a thing, right? I muttered as I tumbled down from the bed.
Hurley was closer to the phone so he picked it up. He spoke to the person on the phone and his eyes widened. He dropped the phone, flipped on his shirt quickly and yelled at me, "Get dressed! It's from Merano Hospital. Your mother left the hospital and…"
Without waiting to hear the last word, I flipped through my stuff for undergarments and a gown and rushed after him.
As he sprinted to the parking lot, his phone was glued to his ears, he was making some calls.
He rolled out my stepfather's address and ordered someone to get my mother back to the hospital.
The car hit the road and he drove at a mad speed, making different calls as he did. With my heart in my mouth, l held on anxiously, all I wanted was to see my mother- safe and sound.
My eyes widened as he drove into the hospital's parking lot. We were supposed to be at Lake's place where my mother went, why the hospital? But I just trusted him and I was too shaken to ask questions.
I ran after him as he sprinted through the stairs, forgetting to use the elevator.
When we got to the intensive care unit, I met my stepfather; Mr Lake, pacing the waiting room.
We were not allowed in. We only looked through the glass doors. My mother was hanging on a thin thread. Tubes were connected to her mouth and nose and different machines were beeping around her.
"Mr Hurley," my stepfather greeted Hurley, acknowledging him. They shook hands briefly and Hurley walked away from him.
Beside Hurley was Brian, his right-hand man.
"How come you are here?" I asked my stepfather.
"What the heck happened? Why did your mother leave the hospital? I saw a cab man wailing in front of the house. He was yelling that his passenger should get off. Right there, this young man arrived and pulled the passenger out of the cab," he explained pointing at Brian.
"Alas the passenger was your mother and she was draining out of consciousness. I challenged the young man and he said Mr Hurley asked him to take her back to the hospital…so I had to come with her," Mr Lake responded looking accomplished rather than worried. All the while, his gaze was on Hurley.
"What the heck happened? Why did she leave the hospital?" He asked and I shrugged it off. Not like he cared. I knew he came around because Hurley was involved.
"I don't know either," I responded, looking back at my mother.
"I am sorry Mother," I muttered and Hurley called for me.
Again I was indebted to him. I stared at him like he was an angel as I walked to him, feeling grateful.
"Go to Hilton wedding dress customization. Get my fiance's wedding gown. Ensure to be there on time. Don't keep me waiting," he said coldly and strutted out of the waiting room with Brian following closely behind him.
What!? My mouth dropped in shock
"Mr Hurley…" my stepfather called but Hurley was gone.
My lips quaked and I couldn't say a word. How could he? Especially when he cared so much about his mother's death!
With my mouth sagging, I looked back and forth, between his disappearing figure and my mother.
I ran my hand through my hair nervously. My stepfather had run after Hurley, leaving me all alone in the waiting room.
I dragged myself to the door, staring at my mother. Hot tears ran down my cheeks and I remained there until I remembered Hurley's order. "Don't keep me waiting."
Cleaning up my tears, I dashed out of the hospital and took a cab down to Hilton.
