Joey’s POV
I was so happy and thrilled that Marsden was coming home with me.
The thought of him alone and sad in that manor with his family made me want to cry. He didn’t deserve that. He deserved to not think about his dark and twisted family for at least a few weeks.
I could tell he was still on edge. He was worried about how my family saw him and how my mother would feel about him. I just hoped she would see what I did.
It’s so weird being back in the house. Especially with this many people. Not much had been said so far, but I was hoping that would change.
“Marsden, I’m really glad you could join us for the holidays.” Zoey smiled.
He looked taken aback. “Oh, um, thank you. I’m happy to be here.”
I smiled too. “Thank you.” I mouthed.
She shrugged like it was nothing.
“So, Thorton, tell me,” Cade started. Oh this would not be good. “What chance do you think the Rovers have in the World Cup next year?”
Oh thank goodness.
“Not a chance with the Foxes.” Marsden grinned.
“The Foxes?” Zander jeered. “You’re mad, Thorton! Obviously the Harpies are taking it all the way!”
“The Harpies?” Marden questioned. “You gotta be kidding me! They did terribly this year!”
“So they’re due for a good year.”
“Zander, you can’t be that delusional.” Cade laughed. “The Cobras are obviously going to win it all!”
“The Cobras?!” Marsden and Zander chorused.
My sisters and I decided maybe it was best to leave the boys to their argument.
“Well, they’re getting along great.” Chloey smiled.
“Told you it would be okay.” I said.
“You were right.” Zoey admitted.
“Marsden is a regular guy who wants to argue about sports.”
“Girls?” We heard Mom’s voice call.
We raced to the front door and ambushed her with hugs as she laughed. “Oh my goodness! I missed you!”
“We missed you too!”
“Step back, let me look at you! Let’s see if Stormine has changed you at all.” We lined up as always. “Joey, that skirt is much too short.”
“Yeah that’s the point.” I responded.
Mom merely chuckled. “Zoey, you look different, what have you been up to?”
“Nothing.” She said quickly. I guess Mom could tell that she wasn’t a virgin anymore.
“Chloey, honey. You look as sweet as ever.”
There’s no denying that Chloey is Mom’s favorite. But we’re okay with it. Or we’re used to it anyways.
“Now, I hear you all have boyfriends now.” She stated. We nodded. “Well, let's meet them!”
When we entered the living room the boys were still animatedly talking about Kilcross.
“Boys!” I called. “Time to meet Mum.”
They all bolted up and tried to look presentable as possible. We all went over to our boyfriends.
“Mom, this is Cade Pickerin. We’ve just started seeing each other. “ Chloey smiled.
“Yes, I know your father!” Mom said. “I hear wonderful things about you.”
“You do?” Cade asked.
“Of course.”
“And this is Zander Craft.” Zoey said nervously.
“Well aren’t you handsome! Good job Zoey.”
“Thank you Ms. Rosaria.” Zander smiled.
“Oh, please call me Molly.” Mom winked. “All of you boys.”
“This is my boyfriend Marsden Thorton.” I said finally. I was insanely nervous about her reaction.
“Marsden Thorton,” Mom declared. “Give me a hug!”
Zoey’s POV
We’re all in shock as Mum wrapped Marsden in a tight hug. “Oh I’m so happy to meet you! Someone has finally tamed Joey and I’m so grateful! Welcome to the family!”
“Um, thank you Molly. I-I love your daughter very much.” Marsden said in a strained voice.
“Oh and why wouldn’t you? She’s amazing!”
“Alright, Mom, you’re suffocating him!” Joey laughed, pulling him away.
“I’m sorry, I’m just delighted you’ve found a nice boy.” Mom grinned.
A nice boy? Marsden Thorton? Yeah right! I can’t believe Mom is going to spend the holidays fawning over Marsden Thorton when I clearly have the better boyfriend! Maybe if I was dating Tate she would like him better?
Ugh what’s wrong with me? Tate Highmore was not a factor in this current situation! Why did I keep thinking about him?
“So what’s the plan for Yuletide dinner?” Chloey asked.
“The usual feast of course. And this year we even have guests!”
“Yeah, our boyfriends.” I said.
“Oh, didn’t I tell you? We will have a full table! Giselle of course is coming, the Crimsons and the Highmores will be joining us.” Mum announced.
“Why?” Chloey practically shrieked.
“Well, because it’s Yuletide and it’s nice to be surrounded by people.”
“That’s a lot of f*****g people, Mom! Why do we need them all here?” Joey questioned.
“Look, the Highmores have had a hard year. It’s just Sophia and her son. The Chancellor thought it would be good for us to have them over. They usually spend the holidays with the Crimsons, so I thought I’d just invite them all. I want them to have a lavish meal where they don’t have to worry about a thing.”
“So because the Highmores are having a less than great year, we have to share a dinner table with them?” Joey demanded.
“Joey, I did not raise you to be like this, please.” Mom said firmly. “Now you go to school with them and I’m sure it’ll be nice to have some friends around.”
So me, Joey, Chloey, Marsden, Zander, Cade, Rune, Tate and Raina would be spending Yuletide at the same table? Great.
--
“Maybe I should go.”
“No, stay.”
“Joey, Highmore and his mother are going to be here. Something bad will happen. I feel it.” Marsden said quietly.
I knew I shouldn’t be listening in, but something still told me to be suspicious of Marsden.
“Marsden, you’re not going back to that house.” Joey said seriously. “I need you here with me, I need to know you’re safe.”
“What if something happens and they see my-”
“They won’t. They don’t see it at school, they won’t see it here. And we’ll have Giselle here too.”
What are they talking about? What couldn’t we see? And what help would Giselle be?
“Besides, I think my Mom will die if you go.” Joey laughed slightly.
“Can you believe she likes me?” Marsden asked.
“Of course I can. You’re amazing. Please stay with me.”
“Alright fine. But...you have to make love to me tonight.”
I heard them fall on the bed. “Marsden!” Joey squealed.
Ew. I hurried back to my own room. “What’s wrong?” Zander asked.
“I don’t know, something isn’t right about Marsden.” I sighed.
“Zoey, I thought you were going to let it go. Tate clearly has an issue with him and is making up all these weird assumptions about him. You saw him earlier. We were talking about sports. You think that guy is an attempted murderer.”
“I heard him and Joey talking, and it sounded really suspicious.”
“You’re spying on your sister now?” He raised his eyebrows. “That’s not you, Zo. Don’t let him warp your mind with his hatred. He’s gonna come in between you and your sisters, is that what you want?”
I groaned. “No of course not! Something just doesn’t feel right about him. I’m worried he’s corrupting Joey.”
“You think he’s corrupting her?” Zander laughed. “I don’t think anyone can corrupt your sister to do anything.”
“I guess you’re right about that.”
“Marsden! Oh, god!” We heard Joey moan.
“Cade!” Chloey squealed.
“Um, is everyone getting frisky except for us?” Zander laughed.
“Maybe,” I shoved him down on the bed. “Let’s fix that.”
Chloey’s POV
I was in no way thrilled that I would be spending Yuletide with Rune.
I was still pretty annoyed with him for how he treated Cade and me when he caught us kissing and also frustrated with how he expected me to just sit around waiting for him to realize he liked me.
I was hoping I could just ignore him for the dinner and have all my focus on Cade. My feelings for Cade were becoming overwhelming altogether.
Being in my first relationship ever had been amazing. Now I knew why Joey liked dating around. Having a boy like you was one of the most exhilarating feelings I’d ever had.
Cade was completely fascinated with everything about me and I cannot believe it. I guess before I liked him I never stopped and thought about why he would like me.
“Hey Cade?”
“Yeah, darling?”
“Can I ask you something?” I questioned.
“Of course.” He said.
“Why do you like me?”
“Because you’re amazing.”
“No, I mean like specifically. What made you fall for me?”
Cade sat up. “Well, when I first met you, I liked you because you’re absolutely stunning and then in classes I realized how smart you are and I really liked that. And then I saw you with your sisters and you were so sweet with them. You’re sweet with everyone. It was like every time I learned something new about you, I fell for you a little bit more.”
I just stared at him. Oh wow. I never thought that would be his answer. I couldn’t believe Cade really just liked me for me. He didn’t think I’m too smart or too shy or too boring. He thought I was amazing just the way I was. I could have never predicted this.
“Those are some pretty good reasons.” I said quietly.
He smiled before leaning in to kiss me. “I think so too. Chloey, I can easily see myself falling in love with you.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.” He kissed me again, rolling on top of me. I liked the way he felt on top of me like that. It made me feel kind of sexy.
Cade’s lips moved down my chin, to my jaw and then to my neck. His hand slowly crept into my shirt. His hands were so warm. They slowly crawled up my stomach, to my chest. I’d never been touched there, but I liked how it felt. I had never felt so wanted in my entire life.
He pushed up my shirt and I let him take it off. I was just so lost in the moment. I had never felt this way before.
Cade kissed my lips again as his other hand moved to my butt. He smiled as he pulled away. “Let me know if I’m going too fast.”
I kissed him again in response. My shaking hands pulled his shirt off too. I felt weird being the only shirtless one.
His hands returned to my chest again. They moved around to my back to unhook my bra. I tensed and pulled away from him.
“I’ve never done any of this before.” I admitted. “It’s a little...daunting.”
“Well how does it feel when I touch you like this? And when I take off your clothes?”
“Good. You have nice warm hands and I like how they feel on my body. And I like feeling my skin against yours.”
“Well, I like feeling your body.”
“Do you think I’m sexy, Cade?” I whispered. “Like do you want to have s*x with me? Is it hard just kissing me because you want to do so much more?”
“Are you reading my mind, Chloey? Of course I think you’re sexy and I’d love to have s*x wtih you. I would take you right now if you’d let me.”
“Okay.”
“Okay you want to do it now?” He asked eagerly.
I laughed. “No, not now. What if my sisters or my mom hears me?”
“You think I’ll be good enough to make you that loud?” Cade grinned, kissing my neck again. “Let’s test the theory.”
“Cade…” I sighed as my eyes rolled back. Oh that felt so good.
“I can’t wait to have you.” He whispered in my ear. “I think about it all the time.”
“Are you a virgin?”
Cade looked embarrassed and nodded. “Yes.”
I didn’t know why that made me so relieved to hear. Maybe because we had the same amount of experience. “I didn’t think you were.”
“I guess I hadn’t found the right girl to take it all the way with.”
“And you think you have now?”
“I’m sure of it.” He kissed me again. “I know I seem like I have a bunch of experience, but some of this is uncharted territory to me. I like the thought that we’ll explore this stuff...together.”
“Me too.” I smiled before kissing him. “And I swear we will explore….very soon.”
“Cant wait.” He kissed me hard and touched me again.
I had a feeling soon I would no longer be the only virgin among my sisters.
