Never Fight

Zoey's POV Getting Joey alone was much harder than I thought it would be. She’s literally always with Marsden. Anytime I saw her she’s whispering with him or kissing him or looking like she’s about to f**k him. Tate was definitely right about the fact that they’re in love. I had to propose a meeting with my sisters just to get her away from him. I’ve told Chloey about what Tate told me and she’s with me. She doesn’t believe that Marsden is what Tate says he is, but thinks it's a good idea to check on her anyway. “So how are you?” I asked Joey. “Wonderful.” “Really?” Chloey asked. “That’s good. Um, how are things with you and Marsden?” “Amazing.” “Yeah? Why?” I questioned.  “Because...we said I love you to each other.” Joey couldn’t contain her smile.  In other circumstances I would be excited for her, but maybe I was letting what Tate said cloud my judgement.  “Oh, that’s a big step.” I announced. “Don’t you think you guys are moving a little fast?” “No. Why?” “You just met him a few months ago. What do you even know about him?” “Everything. And you met Zander a few months ago, so what’s the difference?” Joey asked.  “I think what Zoey is trying to say is that this is very fast for you. You’re not usually so deep in relationships.” Chloey offered. “Yeah, I know, but now I’ve found the right guy. I’m in love. Marsden is the one.” Chloey and I exchanged looks. This was a little concerning. Does Joey really think she and Marsden are going to be together forever? “The one, how?” Chloey asked delicately. “You know. The one I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with. We’re gonna get married.” Joey smiled. “You’re engaged?!” We chorused. She laughed. “No of course not! Not yet anyways. But we will be.” “Joey, this is mad, you realize that?” I asked. “You’re moving way too fast! I mean he hasn’t even met mom yet!” “Well that’s gonna change. Marsden is coming home with me for Yuletide.” “No.” I said. “You can’t bring him home!” “Do you hate him that much?” Joey cried. “Of course not! It’s just...I’m bringing Zander home to meet Mom.” “I invited Cade for the holidays too.” Chloey spoke up. “Well someone’s boyfriend can’t come.” I said. “I vote Marsden.” “Me too.” Chloey said. “What? No! Marsden has to come home with me.” Joey said. “I vote Cade, you just started dating him.” “That is true.” I agreed.  “I can’t back out now, he’ll think I got cold feet or something.” Chloey whined. “Why can’t all of our boyfriends come?” Joey asked. “There’s room for all of them and Mom seems to have no problem with it.” “Our boyfriends don’t get along.” I pointed out. “I’ll tell Marsden to be on his best behavior.” “Well shouldn’t he be with his family right now?” Chloey asked. “You know, considering…” “Considering what?” Joey challenged.  “Joey, his whole family is involved with Dark Vampiric Warlocks and he’s surely on his way there too.” I started. “You are getting way too deep in this relationship, way too fast. You need to be smarter about this.” “How come everything I do is stupid?” She asked in a small voice. “You two liked boys who already had girlfriends and did I call you stupid? No, I supported you. And I’m standing here telling you I’m in love with Marsden Thorton and you’re calling me stupid.” “We didn’t say you were stupid, Joey.” Chloey said softly. “You kinda did.” I sighed. “Look, the only reason I'm concerned is because it seems really intense. And Tate thinks Marsden is up to something ba-” “I’m sorry, Tate?” Joey interrupted. “You’re talking to him about my relationship?” “He’s worried about you.”  “No he’s not, he just hates my boyfriend and is using you to try to get us to break up. I can’t believe you’re listening to Tate Highmore over me. He treated you like s**t but you’ll pick his side over mine?” Joey turned and walked off. I wasn’t sure what to do. We never fight. Chloey’s POV “Are you sure you’re okay spending the holidays with Marsden Thorton?” I asked Cade. “Of course I am. I mean I haven’t spoken to him much, but he seems to care about your sister. I’m sure he’s...pleasant.” “He’s always been nice to me.” “Then I definitely like him.” Cade grinned. “Because you should always be treated like royalty.” Cade kissed me softly at first and then harder, pressing me against the wall. My body did some weird stuff in regards to Cade. He just always felt so good pressed against me.  “Oh!” We pulled away and saw Rune staring at us. “I was just taking a shortcut. Didn’t realize it was...occupied.” I laughed nervously and wiped my lips. “Sorry, we got carried away.” “Easy to do with a girl like Chloey.” Cade grinned. “Yeah, I’m sure.” Rune grunted. “Chlo, you know you said you were going to help me with my Elixir homework. At least now I know why you’ve been busy.” “Oh crap, Rune, I’m so sorry. I-I’ve been busy and distracted-” “Yeah, that much I can see. It’s fine, I'll just figure it out on my own. The exam is tomorrow. Just would have been nice if you kept your word.” “Yeah, well it would have been nice if you kept yours too!” I blurted out.  Rune’s eyes widened in shock. “I-I tried to make up for that!” “Did you Rune?  Or did you just expect things to go your way just because you finally realized what you wanted?”  “I have to go study.” He stalked away.  “What was that about?” Cade asked.  “Nothing.” I forced a smile to my face. “You were right about him, he is silly.” Cade studied me. “Did something happen between you two?” “No, not all. We were hanging out and then he started dating Lavina. We were just friends. Nothing like you and me.” He smiled and put his hands on my waist. “So you don’t care about him anymore?” “Not the way I care about you.” I smiled.  He kissed me again. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer.  I loved kissing him. *** I think maybe we had been a little too hard on Joey.  Who were we to say that Marsden was bad for her? We barely knew him. We could use the holidays to get to know him better and understand what Joey sees in him, besides the obvious. While he’s nowhere near my type, Marsden is quite attractive and extremely charming. But he had to be more than that in order to have the hold he did on Joey. “I just don’t see why I should apologize.” Zoey said stubbornly.  “Because you hurt Joey’s feelings and insulted her boyfriend.” I reminded her. Zoey sighed. “You don’t get a bad vibe off of Marsden?” “Honestly, no. He loves Joey so much. I mean when she got hurt he visited her every day. And she loves him back. We should be happy for her.” “I guess you’re right about that. Fine, I will be nice during the holidays. But if I find one thing off about him-” “We can get to that if it happens. We all finally have boyfriends and we shouldn’t be fighting. We never fight.” Zoey clicked her tongue. “You’re right. I will apologize, I promise” *** “So you don’t hate my boyfriend anymore?” Joey asked.  “I never hated him...I just want you to be okay and safe, Jo.” Zoey whispered. “I am, Zoey. And I’m so happy, I love him so much. Just...please give him a chance. He’s more than who his family is.” “We can do that.” I stated. “Right Zoey?” “Yes, of course we can!” Zoey agreed. “I’m really sorry for how I acted. You’re not stupid and I’m really happy for you.” A smile slowly came across Joey’s face. “Thank you. I love him so much and I want you guys to love him too! I mean he’s gonna be your brother in law after all.” Zoey and I exchanged looks. I still wasn’t thrilled with Joey being so deep in with a boy she barely knew. But she was happy. Whatever made Joey happy is okay with me. Joey’s POV “Good news!” I announced, walking into Marsden’s room. “My sisters have apologized and you are all clear to come home with me for Yuletide.” “Are you sure that’s a good idea?”  “It’s a great idea baby.” I straddled him. “I want you with me so I can keep you safe.” “You know you can’t actually save me from Count Killoran right? He’s been alive for thousands of years. He literally created the wizard/vampire hybrid that I now am.” Marsden stated.  “And yet he’s still no match for me. You underestimate me, Thorton.” I grinned before kissing him.  “Babe...I gotta...oh that feels good.” Marsden whimpered as I kissed his neck.  “You seem tense. You should relax.” “Jo...fuck, you know I have to work on the barrier...m-my mission.” “What about my mission?” “What mission is that, baby?” “To make you feel good.” I unbuttoned his shirt and kissed down his neck to his chest.  Marsden was no longer resisting. I locked eyes with him as my lips reached his pants. I slowly started unbuttoning them. He was already moaning as though the anticipation was driving him wild. Now he was dying for me. “Joey…” He groaned as I finally took him in my mouth. His fingers tangled in my hair as he encouraged me. “f**k, that feels good. J-just like that...that’s my girl.” I loved when he called me his girl. It wasn’t possessive, but extremely loving. I was his girl.  Marsden’s hips bucked up as he moaned loudly. I wanted him so badly. I needed to feel him inside of me. To feel his love for me surge through my body. He gripped my hair tighter, pulling my head back slightly so he could thrust into my mouth. After a few moments, he abruptly stopped.  “Sorry, I was too close.” Marsden breathed, sitting up. “And I haven’t taken care of you yet.” I smiled as he wrapped his arm around me and placed me on my back. He raised my legs and slipped my underwear off. I watched him kiss from my thighs to my center that was begging for him.  My body shook with pleasure as his tongue swirled quickly around my c**t. He always knew how to make me feel good. I squirmed and writhed in bliss, each second getting closer to my orgasm. I sunk into the bed as the sensation furiously came over me. Marsden didn’t stop until I quieted down. Marsden kissed me as he pushed himself inside of me. He shuddered just like he always did. It was almost like Marsden was always surprised and unprepared for the physical sensation.  He slowly pumped in and out of me while moaning and cursing. I put my head back and Marsden put his mouth on my neck. I felt his fangs against my skin. Sometimes when we had s*x Marsden lost so much control that he couldn’t keep his concealment charms up. The vampire in him came out. I felt his mouth on my ear. “Say my name,” he breathed. “Marsden….” I whimpered. “Just like that.” “You love me?”  “Yeah, baby.” “Forever?” “And a day.” I promised.  His breath hitched as he cried out, spilling inside of me. “Joey...I f*****g love you.” Marsden whispered.  His voice was deeper. I opened my eyes and Marsden was in full Dark Vampiric Warlock mode. I gently ran my fingers over the puncture wounds.  “Did it hurt?” I asked.  “My skin burned for three days.” Marsden whispered. “I thought I was dying.” “Will I have to get it too?” “If you stay with me.” “Why do you say if, baby? Of course I’m staying with you. Forever, remember?” I asked. “Yeah, baby, forever.”
