Joey’s POV
I smiled up at Marsden. “You’re sure, right?”
“No, not at all. But if this is what you want, then we’ll do it. I’d rather do it with just us instead of that horrid ceremony. Keene will be there too as a witness. And then I’ll help you with the transformation.”
I suddenly realized I was kind of scared. Of course, I knew it was reversible and it didn’t mean that I was an evil person, but I just never saw this life for myself.
I had to remind myself that I’m doing this for the greater good. I had to be completely trustworthy in the eyes of the Dark Vampiric Warlocks. I knew this was some kind of test that Count Killoran and my father had given Marsden to see if both of us were worthy of their trust.
So we had to prove we were.
“When are we going to do this?” I questioned.
"We have to do it on Friday so you can have the weekend to recover. You saw how Brielle was, it’s going to be really rough, babe, I need you to know that.” Marsden explained.
I nodded. “I understand that. And what about the blood?”
“I already have it. I’ve had it the whole time. We’ll do it in the room in the Celestial Tower, okay?”
“Yeah, I got it. I’m nervous.” I admitted.
“I know, babe. But don’t worry, I’ll be there every step of the way.”
“I love you.”
Marsden kissed me softly. “Yeah, I love you too.”
--
“You’re doing what?!” Chloey demanded.
“It’s what’s best, Chloey,” I sighed.
“You can’t do this. Director Magnus, tell her she cannot turn.”
Magnus sighed too. “I think she has to.”
“What?”
“She needs the full trust of Count Killoran, otherwise she’ll never get any useful information. She has to do this Chloey.”
“But that’s giving up her life for this!” Chloey wailed. “There’s no turning back from this!”
“Actually there is.” I stated. “Mom used to be one too. Before she had Brody. She reversed it. The only thing that’s still there is her puncture wounds.”
“Mom?” Chloey asked. “No way!”
“She told me herself. She…kinda knows everything.”
“You told her what we’re doing?” Chloey asked Magnus.
“I had to Chloey. I couldn’t have her not knowing what’s going on with her own children.”
Chloey rubbed her temples. “This is too much! I can’t do this is anymore, it’s too hard!”
“Chloey, we need you.” I insisted. “Please, I know things are insane but remember the greater good, okay? Remember we’re doing this for the Witching Domain.”
“Joey, it cannot be worth it.”
“It has to be. I promise everything will be okay.”
“You can’t promise something like that.” She whispered.
“Do you trust me?” I asked.
“Yes, of course I do.”
“Then keep doing it. I know what I’m doing okay? This will all work out the way it’s supposed to.”
She hugged me tightly. “Joey, I’m so scared for you.”
“Yeah, me too.”
--
I stood in the middle of the room in the Celestial Tower nervously. Marsden and Keene were getting everything ready for my turning. I wondered if I could actually prepare myself for how much it was going to hurt.
I probably couldn’t.
“You ready?” Marsden asked.
I nodded and held out my arm. Marsden removed his concealment charms before bringing his lips to my arm. First he gently kissed it as though to reassure me. I closed my eyes as I felt the pain of his fangs penetrate my skin.
Nothing had ever hurt more in my life. It was like my blood was boiling in my veins. Marsden pulled away and Keene handed me the cup. The taste of the mixture was horrid but I forced it down my throat, gasping for air.
I felt the changes immediately. My fangs grew, my eyes became sharper, my hearing heightened.
I was officially a Dark Vampirice Warlock.
Zoey’s POV
I felt kind of empowered.
Telling Tate that he needed to be the one to fix our relationship was actually such a great feeling. I felt he ran so much of our relationship and made a lot of our choices. It was definitely time for me to get some power back.
Only now I was kind of worried that he wouldn’t even try, but I had a feeling that he would. I mean Tate loves me. He wants to be with me and he would fight for me. .
He has to.
--
There was a knock on my door a few nights after I had told Tate off. He stood there behind Blood Roses with a smile on his face. Blood Roses are my favorite.
I let him in and he handed me the flowers. “Thank you,” I smiled slightly.
“So um, I wanted to apologize for the things I said about you. I was angry and lashing out and I hate that I hurt you. You mean a lot to me Zoey, and I really appreciate and love you and I’m sorry that I’m not always good at showing you that.”
“I really appreciate you saying that, Tate.”
“And I also made you this,” He handed me a book. “It’s all the reasons that I love you.”
I flipped through the book as tears came to my eyes. This was incredible! He loved me because I was smart and funny and caring and a bunch of other things. I didn’t realize he thought all these wonderful things about me.
“You did this yourself?” I asked.
“I made the book myself, but the idea actually came from Joey.” Tate admitted.
“Really? She helped you out?”
“I had to beg her.”
I smiled. “Wow you really want me back.”
“I really do, Zo. So will you have me back? I will be so much better than before.”
I nodded before kissing him. “I love you, Tate.”
“I love you more.” He kissed me again.
We fell on my bed, kissing each other passionately. I was shocked with how gentle Tate was being, considering he loved being so aggressive and dominating in the bedroom.
He kissed my neck softly. “How do you want me to make love to you?
Tate had never asked me that before. I think he was more of the leader in the bedroom so I just easily went with that. But now he was actually asking what I wanted.
“Slowly,” I murmured. “Is that okay?”
He nodded. Slowly we took each other’s clothes off. Tate spread my legs before sliding between them. He pushed inside of me and moaned as he felt me mold around him. I bit my lip as the pleasure spread throughout my body.
Tate moved leisurely in and out of me and I loved every second of it. I liked that I felt every inch of him enter and retreat. I preferred it to the the fast and hard s*x I had become accustomed to with him. I hoped he at least enjoyed it a little.
Though with the way he was moaning and cursing, I figured he was liking it quite alot.
“I’ve never done this before,” Tate breathed. “This is perfect.”
“It is,” I moaned. “Oh stay right there Tate.”
He continually hit the same spot, causing me to slip into pure ecstasy. s*x had never felt better. This also felt like real true love making. Like our bodies were falling in love with each other’s with every thrust and kiss and moan.
As Tate said, it was perfect. I was strangely excited for the end. I had never seen Tate finish and I just knew I would love every second of it.
“I’m close Zo,” He panted, picking up speed.
I didn’t mind considering he was so close and I knew he was desperately chasing his orgasm. Tate’s eyes rolled back as he shoved himself deeper inside of me. He was absolutely beautiful as he reached his climax. I wanted to see this all of the time.
He tried to catch his breath as he collapsed next to me on the bed.
“That was so beautiful,” He whispered. “I didn’t know s*x could feel like that.”
“We’ve finally made love.” I smiled.
“I think we should start taking your lead in the bedroom from now on. I clearly don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.”
“Now wait a minute we shouldn’t get rid of everything you do. I still like to be dominated.”
“Oh yeah?” He asked. “That’s good because in fifteen minutes I want you on your knees for me.”
“Yes, sir.”
Chloey’s POV
I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I was tired of lying to basically everyone in my life about this secret Director Magnus and Joey had trusted me with. It was overwhelming. I was not equipped to handle this on my own.
I had to tell Rune. I hoped since I was keeping his werewolf secret, he could keep this for me in return. I didn’t want there to be any secrets between us anymore. We were so in love and trust is such a big part of that.
Rune stared at me in shock.
“Are you joking? Because that’s not very funny.”
“I’m not joking. He is one and well…Joey is about to become one too.” I whispered.
“Chloey what the hell are you talking about?! Why wouldn’t you tell someone? We have to go to Magnus now!”
“He already knows! He knows everything, Rune, I swear. He has this insane plan that involves me and Joey. He says we could save the Witching Domain.”
“How is Joey and her boyfriend becoming the very things that want to destroy the Witching Domain the answer?” Rune demanded.
“I’ll tell you everything, I just need you to hear me out okay?”
“You let me hang out with a Dark Vampiric Warlock! I kind of thought Marsden was my friend!”
“He is your friend, Rune! He likes you a lot!” I insisted.
“Does Zoey know too and she’s letting Tate be seen as a crazy person so she can protect Joey?”
“Zoey has no idea about this! No one else does! Marsden doesn’t even know about the plan Magnus has.”
“I have to tell Tate.” Rune whispered. “He has to know that he was right.”
“Rune, please you can’t!” I cried.
“Then what the hell am I supposed to do?!”
“Trust me.”
“Trust you?” Rune scoffed. “You’ve been lying to me this whole time.”
“No, that’s not true! I found out after Tate hurt Marsden. Joey can’t do this alone, she needs me.” I stated. “I just want to save my sister.”
He rubbed his face. “Your sister got herself into trouble on her own. It’s not your job to fix it.”
“It’s my job to be there for her when she needs me. She would do the same for me.”
“She’s doing all of this for Marsden Thorton. She’s throwing her life away for a guy she knew was trouble when she met him! This is stupidest thing she could have ever done.”
“Joey isn’t stupid. She fell in love.”
“With the wrong guy.” Rune shook his head. “I don’t know how you expect me to be okay with this Chloey. And I can’t believe you’re okay with it.”
“I’m not okay with it, I’m just doing what I have to do to protect my family. And we’re saving the Witching Domain doesn’t that count for something.”
“No, you’re saving your sister’s boyfriend.”
“If people found out that you were a werewolf, you don’t think they’d judge me for sticking by you even though you’re considered dangerous?” I questioned.
His face hardened. “Please leave, Chloey.”
“Rune,”
“I’m serious. I just…I need time to figure out what the hell I’m going to do about this. Please go.”
I nodded and grabbed my bag before heading to the door. “What Joey is doing for Marsden is insane, but I would do it for you too.”
I walked out of the door, terrified I would never walk back in.
I went immediately to Director Magnus’ office.
“What’s wrong Chloey?” He questioned.
“I think I really messed up.”
