Triplets (Chloey's POV)

1468 Words
Trying to read three books at once was difficult. I just couldn’t believe they were all connected. Count Killoran was created by triplet witches who had blue energy. This was so much more interwoven than I ever thought it would be.  “Are you reading those all at the same time?” Rune questioned, looking over at me. “I knew you were brilliant, but I didn’t realize you were that talented.” I shook my head. “Rune, the information in Count Killoran’s journal connects completely with these other two books. I wish I could read them simultaneously so that I could really understand the timeline for them, but I’m feeling so overwhelmed.” “Well um…what do you think came first?” “It would have to be the blue energy right? Because three centuries ago these triplets had it and made Count Killoran what he is now. But I don’t think they were the first triplet witches born, so the blue energy had to exist before then right?” I asked.  “Sounds like it. Let’s go to the study and start a timeline for all of this,” Rune stated.  “That’s a great idea.” “I have them sometimes.” We rushed down to the study, locking ourselves in. I was determined not to leave until I fully understood what was going on. I grabbed the triplet witch book, realizing how thin it really was. There had to be like twenty pages in this.  The first triplet witches born were Alder, River, and Clover Rose. The night of their birth, there was a terrible storm and their mother had no shelter. With thunder rumbling in the sky and lightning striking, she had to give birth among the elements. A thunderbolt of lightning hit her stomach as she was in labor. Instead of killing her, it seemed to be absorbed by her daughters.  The rest of the labor was easy from there. She gave birth to three beautiful, powerful girls with extraordinary powers. When the girls’ mother was ever in danger, a strange blue energy would take form to protect her from anything. This also happened with people they loved. “Okay, Rune, six centuries ago, blue energy was created. I think it was made to protect the mother because she had to give birth alone and outside during a storm.” “So it’s always protecting,” Rune whispered. “That’s all it knows how to do at first.” “Yeah, you’re right.” I breathed. “Okay let’s see…a century later, another set was born: Alma, Clara and Freja Rosand. It looks like they were the first ones to actually learn control over the blue energy. They were the village protectors. When dangerous creatures or mortals tried to harm anyone, they would save them.” “That’s badass,” Rune grinned. “Triplet witches are so cool.” “This is all really so fascinating,” I smiled back. “Why wouldn’t they teach this in school?”  “Maybe because it’s so rare. I mean, it's still a shame not everyone knows about this.” “Definitely. Okay, then next are Gwen, Elowen and Arwen Roser. They’re the ones who truly figured out the power of the blue energy. So much that they managed to make Count Killoran into a hybrid.  We’ll definitely be circling back to them. But again, they are insanely powerful.” “I’m noticing a pattern,” Rune commented. “What’s next?”  “Sedona, Odessa, and Paloma Rosare,” I stated. “Oh my gosh. They were the ones who hid the Ligneous Stake. I think they realized he was dangerous. They…they died putting him in his first slumber. He slept for fifty years. This is when the Highmores got involved too. The Rosare sisters gave them the title of Hunter and the duty of protecting the Witching Domain from Count Killoran should he rise again.” “Fifty years? That’s a nice nap. So did they not tell the Highmores about the Ligneous Stake?” “They were under the impression that Count Killoran was dead, so they didn’t think they had to go find it. After fifty years of not thinking about it, I think all the information just got lost in translation or something.” “Of course it did,” He muttered as he scribbled down what I had just said.  “Alright, one century ago we had Naomi, Abi and Mari Rosalia. These ladies wrote the book on Dark Vampiric Warlocks. Where I found the map and everything. They were the ones to finally piece together the information and how to find the Ligneous Stake. Count Killoran…killed them too. Because he knows they could defeat him.” “Well s**t…that’s it then?” I turned the page and gasped. “We’re in this too, Rune! Joey, Zoey and Chloey Rosaria! It doesn’t say anything other than that, probably because we haven’t done anything yet.” “They’ll write about how you and Joey were the incredible spies and that Zoey helped find the Ligneous Stake. You guys are going to go down in history along with all these other incredible women.” I looked back over the book. “Yeah, we are huh? Hopefully anyways. You know there’s kind of a running theme here. The last names, they’re kind of similar.” Rune looked at his paper, muttering to himself. “Chloey, I think all of these witches are your ancestors. That’s why the blue energy has stayed. It’s protecting the family. And triplets definitely run in families. I think you were destined for greatness because of your ancestors.” I smiled. “You think so?”  “It all makes sense. Your ancestors helped create Count Killoran and you’re going to help destroy him. It’s full circle.” I kissed him. “You are brilliant.” “You’re rubbing off on me. I’d like you to do it more.” He smirked.  “Down boy. We have to get back to Count Killoran’s journal.” “Oh fine.” I flipped to where I left off. I was exhausted after my transformation. It took a lot out of my body, but once I recovered, I felt stronger than ever. It was worth it. The witches took such good care of me, especially Gwen. To pretend I didn’t have feelings for her would be silly. She hypnotizes me. I must have her. Together we would make the most powerful being. I would turn her into the hybrid I was and our powers from that, combined with the power of the blue energy would give us the perfect, indestructible child. One who would rule the world.  “Well that’s unsettling,” Rune stated. “But I mean that didn’t happen right?” I shook my head. “Nope..Gwen loved another man. Count Killoran was so overtaken with jealousy that he killed her lover. Gwen went into such a deep depression, she wasted away. It’s so sad, but Count Killoran didn’t care. He just wanted her to love him but she never did. She died alone.” “What about the other two?” Rune asked.  “They had families and eventually died. Gwen was the only one who never had children.” “That is sad.” I skimmed the journal. “Okay…looks like when he met Odessa, Sedona, and Paloma they were allies, until they saw how deranged he was- my words, not his- and they became enemies. Still he fell in love with Paloma. They actually were together before she and her sisters found out how dangerous he was. He says the same things about the child they could have had together. And then Paloma died and he went into slumber.” “Another sad story,” “And then when Naomi, Abi and Mari met him when they were twenty, he fell in love with Abi. See read this.” I have fallen for another triplet. I think they would only be the only ones to ever satisfy me. Abi makes me shake. She’s so stunning and carefree like the women I fell in love with before her. She sets my heart on fire with her wild laugh and her free spirit. I think she may love me back. It can’t just be flirtations like the others. She may be the one to finally give me a son. I will have a woman I love and an almighty son.  “Um…Chloey,” Rune started. “There’s a pattern here.” “Yeah, he always falls in love with a triplet,” I declared.  “Yes, the carefree, wild, free-spirited triplet. The one who flirts and laughs a lot. Sound familiar?” My stomach dropped. “Joey.”
