Joey’s POV
Being with Marsden’s family was strange, yet wonderful. I love being so close to Marsden and Brielle was amazing. Sabrine treated me like I was family.
I liked that I got to see how Marsden grew up and what his life was like growing up. He confided in me that while things were kind of stressful, they were still better than when his dad was home. I was starting to realize we had more in common than I ever knew.
I almost asked my mother about her possibly being a Dark Vampiric Warlock but I choked. I wasn’t ready to find out that she was.
Count Killoran still hadn’t made his appearance. I was starting to think that maybe he wouldn’t show at all. That he wanted Marsden to come home to turn Brielle and make him nervous so that he could scare him into completing his task.
While Marsden was definitely nervous, that didn’t stop him from being passionate with me. He was insatiable lately.
“Oh… Marsden!” I gasped.
“Not so loud, baby,” He murmured. “Oh f**k….you feel so good!”
I whimpered loudly as Marsden pushed deeper into me. I could feel every inch of his perfect d**k inside of me. He was pulling out completely before slamming back back in. It was making me almost dizzy with pleasure.
It was taking all of my strength not to scream out. Marsden felt too good inside of me. He kissed me to muffle our moans.
“I want to be on top,” I muttered against his lips.
Marsden shook his head with a glimmer in his eyes. “You’re gonna stay right there while I f**k your brains out.,”
God he was so sexy. I watched as he transformed before my eyes. Something strange was coming over me. It was like every ounce of love and adoration I had for Marsden was coursing through me.
“Marsden I love you,” I whispered.
“I love you…ah Joey!”
“Marry me Marsden,”
He smiled. “I’ll marry you…impregnate you…love you for the rest of my life.”
Our fingers intertwined as he pinned me down, picking up speed. He cried out as he buried deep inside of me before his climax hit him. He continued kissing me softly, murmuring how much he loved me.
I never thought I’d feel this.
I didn’t know I could be this in love with someone. That I would give any and everything for just one person. That I was going to spend the rest of my life with the boy on top of me.
“If I could make love to you every single second of every single day, I would, “ Marsden sighed. “I wouldn't eat or sleep if it meant being inside of you.”
“Romance is not dead,” I laughed.
There was suddenly an urgent pounding on Marsden’s door.
“Mars!” Brielle hissed. “You have to come quickly. Count Killoran is here! He wants an audience with you!”
--
I wasn’t supposed to leave the second floor. Marsden was downstairs with Count Killoran and he wanted me nowhere near him.
I knew I should listen, but I was too curious. I just wanted a glimpse of Count Killoran to see if he was actually as terrifying as I heard he was.
“You’re not supposed to be down here!” Brielle whispered.
“Neither are you,” I pointed out.
She smiled slightly and grabbed my hand. We went to the kitchen and waited patiently.
“We should head upstairs,” Brielle stated. “I don’t want to get in trouble.”
She pulled me out of the kitchen as the door to the study opened and Marsden slipped out looking like he would vomit.
Brielle continued to the stairs, leaving me and Marsden alone.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
He put his hands on my face and kissed me hard.
The desperation in his kiss made me think something bad happened in there.
“Joey?” I pulled away from Marsden.
“Daddy?” I whispered.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m with…”
“Is that what everyone hasn’t been telling me then? My own daughter with Marsden Thorton?” He questioned.
“Surprised Bryce didn’t tell you,” I sneered. “If you’ll excuse me, Marsden and I are busy.” I grabbed Marsden’s hand and pulled him on the stairs, determined not to give my father another minute of my time.
Chloey’s POV
I couldn’t believe what Joey had just said. After all these years she’d seen our father.
“How did you see him?” I asked.
“He was at Marsden’s house.”
“Why?” Zoey asked.
“He was checking on Mrs. Thorton. You know he was good friends with Regan Thorton and all of Regan’s friends check on Sabrine to make sure everything is okay with their family.” Joey explained.
“By friends you mean Dark Vampiric Warlocks, “ Zoey stated. “How many have you been around during this break?”
“Zoey!” I hissed. “Jo, did you say anything to him?”
“Not really. He tried to give me s**t for being with Marsden, but I didn’t let him. I just stayed upstairs until he left.”
“How did he look?”
“Good for someone who’s wanted for murder.” She laughed slightly. “I don’t know if I should tell mom or not.”
“Definitely,” I stated. “She’d want to know.”
“Yeah, probably. How are things over there?”
“Raina and Cade are dating,” Zoey offered.
Her eyes widened. “You’re f*****g with me.”
“Nope, it’s true.” I shook my head.
“Those two are insane!”
“Delusional!” Zoey exclaimed.
“Jo-Jo, the snacks are ready!” Brielle’s voice called.
“Bri and I are having a slumber party. She’s cheering me up about Dad. See you back at school?” Joey smiled.
“Yeah, see you then.” I forced a smile
Joey disappeared and Zoey turned to me. “You think she’s telling the truth?”
“About the slumber party?” I asked.
“No about why Dad was at the house.”
“Why else would he be there?”
“Maybe he’s Marsden’s mentor?” Zoey suggested.
“Oh enough with this!” I laughed. “Marsden is not a Dark Vampiric Warlock. He’s a troubled boy who’s in love with our sister. You think Joey would let our father, who she hates, mentor her boyfriend?”
“But-”
“Sorry, Zo, I’m not Tate. I don’t want to discuss conspiracy theories. I’m gonna go see what Rune is up to.” I patted her shoulder before going to Rune’s room.
“Chloey, hi! Um…can we talk?” He asked.
“Of course,” I sat on the bed.
“It’s about earlier…the whole love thing.”
“Right,” I nodded. “Look Rune, it’s no big deal. It was just a figure of speech. It’s way too early for that.”
“Oh,” He breathed.
“What?”
“Chloey the thing is…I do love you.”
“Oh!” I squeaked. “That’s um-”
“Too soon. That’s fine, I get it, it's just you are everything I’ve ever wanted. You see me Chloey. More clearly than anyone has ever seen me. And I see you. You are so much more than the smart Rosaria triplet. You are the most beautiful, amazing girl I’ve ever met. There’s no one like you. I love you.”
“I love you too,” I blurted out.
I hadn’t meant to say that, but I felt it so deeply at that moment.
“Really?” Rune whispered.
“Yes, Rune. I’ve never felt this way about anyone. I think you’re my soul mate.” I admitted.
“I think that too,” He kissed me. “No one is ever taking you away from me.”
“Let them try.”
Zoey’s POV
Something about Joey’s story just didn’t sound right to me.
Why would Dad go to check on Sabrine Thorton? It’s not like he was a nice guy who cared about his friend’s wives. So there had to be another reason that he was there.
Maybe he had heard about Joey dating Marsden and wanted to have a talk with him? But would he be happy about them dating or upset that one of his daughters was going down a similar path?
I needed someone to talk this through with.
I burst into Tate’s room. “Look I know you’re mad at me, but Joey saw my dad at Marsden’s house and something doesn’t sit right with me about that!”
Tate’s eyes widened. “What would he be doing there?”
“Dark Vampiric Warlock things!”
Tate waved his hand and closed the door.
“Well what did Joey say?” He questioned.
“That he was just checking in on Sabrine Thorton, but that couldn’t be the only thing, right?” I fell on the bed. “You might actually be right about this, Tate. Marsden is in deep and Joey is right there with him.”
“When we get back to school we really have to get in that room,” Tate stated. “We need to try to get in when they’re not there. The clearly have some charm blocking the entrance when they’re in there.”
“They’re pretty much always there except for class.”
“Or late at night, right? We’ll wait for them to leave at night and then we’ll go up and we’ll have the whole night to explore and figure it out.”
“You are a genius!” I smiled, reaching out to kiss him. I was shocked when he actually kissed me back. “You’re not mad?”
“I realized something during our brief time apart,” Tate admitted. “I’d been with Raina for so long, sometimes I still feel like I'm with her and I have to protect her, but I don’t. You were right. What she’s done to you is horrible and I shouldn’t give her a pass just because I cheated on her. Honestly, it's my fault she cursed you, so I’m sorry.”
I smiled. “We fight a lot because of Raina,”
“And that makes you happy?”
“No, but every time you always choose me. It’s reaffirming.”
“I’ll always choose you Zoey. I love you.” He kissed me again.
"I love you too Tate."
--
Being back at school was kind of a relief. I really missed Joey and I didn't need to be in close proximity with Raina Crimson ever again.
It was clear that Raina and Cade’s relationship was a ruse to get under Tate and Chloey’s skin. They were always in eye view and the way they made out was absolutely disgusting.
“Is that what Marsden and I look like when we kiss?” Joey asked, scrunching her nose up.
“Kind of,” I admitted.
“You and Marsden are more passionate though,” Chloey assured me. “It’s clear you’re in love and can't help but kiss each other. This is just revolting.”
“Well they’re both horrible people so maybe it’s good they’re together.” Joey smiled.
“So Joey, how is Marsden?” I asked.
“Fine. Um we’re having a special date in his room tonight to celebrate six months of being together.”
“That’s amazing!”
If they’re in Marsden’s room, they won’t be in that secret room in the Celestial Tower.
Tonight we would figure out what they’re doing up there.
