We were on our way to Micah’s house.
Actually, Micah had suggested coming home with him but I insisted to stay. I knew it was just a matter of time until they found out where I was. But I thought I was with Micah. I got Tyler and Asher too. Nathan, Auntie Feli, and Judith. I would be saved. So, I grabbed all my stuff. Instead of staying for a while, I was like moving in. With Micah. Wow, something I thought I never did. If he asked me this six months ago, I would turn him down immediately. Now, well, I wanted to stay with him.
We had driven quite long and far away from the cottage. “You’re okay?” he asked...hundreds of times.
“Yeah.”
“You don’t need to worry.” He held my hand. “I won’t let anything happen to you.” And he kissed the back of my hand.
“Your house is quite far.”
