His phone buzzed as Jason was driving down to the Hard Rock Casino in Stateline. A quick glance told him the call was from his mother, and so he ignored it. In a way, there was something liberating about being able to blow her off like that. The hundreds of miles that currently separated them might have been a flimsy barrier at best, but he’d take it. Since he was currently carrying out an errand at her behest, he didn’t think she would push him too hard about being incommunicado.
