Chapter III

1060 Words
Liam's POV “Gotcha!” The man whispered into my ear. I was stunned and didn’t know what to do. I can still feel his heavy breathing on my neck, it’s hot, and it gives my body a burning sensation. I can feel my body shiver as I become more nervous. We paused like that for a few minutes, in dead silence. His hands are still on my shoulder, holding me down tightly yet not aggressive. Can he just let go of my shoulders? It's aching, this muscleman is heavy. Right now I’m debating whether I should make a run or see his face before I get my head chopped. Yes, I know, the second part sounds dumb, but at least I’d get to know my murderer. That’d be helpful for the investigation…or not. I was awoken from my wandering thoughts when a heavy voice spoke. “So, are you just gonna sit there and shiver? Not planning for your escape or anything?” The man behind me mockingly says. “No, if I’m about to die a minute from now, I might as well cherish my time and repent for my sins.” I replied, rolling my eyes. “Maybe if you stop rolling your eyes and beg for your life, I could spare you.” He said, a hint of jest in his voice. “Dude, you're creepy, how did you even know I was rolling my eyes?” I asked, feeling a bit too comfortable, which maybe does not fit my situation right now. “Just guessed by the way you talk, you definitely sound like someone who would roll their eyes regardless of the situation, and of course I’m right.” He replied. “Are you saying I’m a sassy little girl? Dude, I’m not Elijah!” I said in defense. How dare this guy compare me to that brat. Well, technically, he did not, still. “Well, I never said that, you stated it yourself. And who’s that?" “Who’s who?” “The one you named Elijah, the 'sassy little girl' one.” Before I could say anything, the voice of a person shouting that came from the other side of the bushes pierced my ears, a voice so loud and irritating, the person it belonged to might as well go mute. “LIAM!” Speak of the devil and he shall appear. “LIAM, WHERE THE f**k ARE YOU?” This cow behind me spoke again. “Oh I bet my life that’s Elijah, isn’t he?” He uttered, probably smirking. “So that makes you Liam.” He chuckled. “Liam…” He hums, “What a cute name.” He sounded so serious. What the f**k is this dude calling my name cute for? Is he mocking me? “LIAM, THERE YOU ARE! WHERE THE f**k DID YOU GO?” Elijah shouted. I was planning on smacking the guy behind me when I realized he was not there anymore. I started looking around, but realized he was gone. Good, great. I let out a relieved sigh, and before I heard another piercing shriek coming from a guy, I got out of where I was hiding earlier. “Restroom.” I replied, “And please Elijah, could you lower down your voice, so noisy.” “How dare you have the nerve? Dude, I’m starving, I’ve been wanting to eat dinner since we’ve arrived, so I’ve been looking for you so we can eat.” He replied, pouting. “You should’ve eaten first, stupid.” I said to him, “You know I can’t do that. Also, what took you so long? Did you pee and a gallon? And when you said 'restroom', did you mean the bushes?” I walked past him, not answering his dumb question; being friends with this asshole for so long made me realize one thing: avoid idiots, they will ruin your life. After having dinner, I settled in my room. It was simple but calming, the bed was scented with lavender. It was fragrant and relaxed my nerves. Minutes have passed, yet I still can’t seem to fall into slumber. Weirdly, the smell of lavender was mixed with the scent I'd encountered earlier. The sweet musk lingers on my nose. This scent is addictive. It’s sweet but manly. Today was tiring. My stupid ass got aroused by a scent, met a big guy that maybe is f****d up in the head, I don’t know. But after all this, I’m not sure why the guy's presence and that smell are oddly familiar. Also, not quite sure why, but why does it feel comforting? I only realized this just now, but I met him near the washrooms, so does that mean he's staying here too?! There's a side of me who wishes I would never ever cross paths with him again. There is something in our encounter that makes me shudder. He was definitely huge, yet I never actually felt he'd be a threat or anything, but there's also this one little spark hoping I'd meet him again while staying in this place. I wonder what he looks like. I should have looked at what he looked like when I had the chance. I wonder if his looks match his build. But these kinds of thoughts, I should definitely set aside, just like what people always say, curiosity kills the cat. Maybe he was just playing with me. Right? But, what if that's just for now? What if he's actually planning something and he just let me go earlier? Lol, that should not be possible, right? All I did was sneak up on him because he smelled familiar. I'm hoping it's the latter. And I should not forget how my stupid friend gave away my identity. I should give him a good smack when we meet tomorrow. Oh my, I might be deranged too. So much thinking about something unimportant that's also caused by my stupid ass. I came here for relaxation, not to get hunted down by a six-foot-tall mad guy who does not know what personal space is. After so much of thinking and contemplating on how I would survive this so-called vacation, the lavender scent mixed with this mystifying smell slowly became cozy and pleasant, and before I even knew, I slowly drifted into sleep.
