When light once again entered my eyes, I cursed under my breath and shook my groggy head as I sat up.
I looked around and found myself in a strangely decorated room, full of exotic vibes and foreign charm.
“Could it be that the dream isn’t over? Am I still dreaming?” I muttered to myself as I gazed out the window. Outside, towering trees surrounded the area, and lush green grass stretched far and wide. It seemed as if I was in the middle of a great forest.
Getting out of bed, I took a step outside the house. Turning back for another look, I realized it was a wooden cabin, entirely built from raw timber. Around it stood three other cabins of a similar design.
The sound of running water reached my ears, filling me with delight. I decided to test what it would feel like to bathe in a dream and ran toward the sound.
Before long, a serene and beautiful lake appeared before me. For someone like me, who grew up in a bustling metropolis, this scene was beyond imagination. But what shocked me even more was… a woman?
In the lake, a flawlessly perfect, snow-white figure swam leisurely, her presence so enchanting that it felt as though all the spirit of the lake was gathered around her.
Of course, I must be extraordinary myself—who else could dream of such a stunning beauty? Wiping the drool from the corner of my mouth, I focused all my attention on admiring the lady in the lake. After all, she was my creation; there was nothing wrong with looking as much as I pleased.
Sigh, but she was too far away for me to see her face clearly. I decided to creep a little closer.
Suddenly, a soft “crack” echoed under my foot. I had accidentally stepped on a dry branch and broken it.
The lady in the lake, with her keen hearing, immediately turned toward me, and there she spotted me—mouth agape and drooling like an i***t.
Just as I was at the peak of my excitement, a flash of red light appeared in her hand and shot toward me like a fireball.
What… what the heck?
I watched, dumbfounded, as the fireball flew toward me and struck me directly. And then…
“Mama mia, it’s so hot!” I screamed as I felt the burning pain. Wait, aren’t dreams supposed to be painless? Why does it hurt so much? It’s excruciating!
The fireball had set me ablaze, and I couldn’t help but drop to the ground, rolling desperately to extinguish the flames. Through the unbearable pain, I couldn’t help but think: If only there were water…
The moment this thought crossed my mind, a towering column of water suddenly rose from the lake a few meters away and crashed down on me, instantly putting out the flames.
What… what just happened?
The lady in the lake, now dressed in a white robe, looked utterly stunned when she saw the water douse the flames. Then, noticing me struggling to get back on my feet, her delicate eyebrows furrowed.
In a flash, her figure shot across the ten-meter distance and landed directly in front of me. Without a word, she raised her fist and delivered a fierce punch straight to my head.
“Mama mia! Why the head again?” I cried inwardly as everything went dark once more.
As I slipped into unconsciousness, a thought lingered in my mind: Maybe this isn’t a dream after all… Maybe this is real…
For the third time that day, I regained consciousness and found myself back in the same cabin. The moment I opened my eyes, I saw the two old men: Red Beard and Long Beard.
“Good morning, gentlemen,” I greeted them politely.
“Good morning, my foot! You brat, how dare you peep at my daughter while she was bathing?”
Red Beard was clearly furious. He landed another explosive punch square on my head.
Perhaps because my head had already been knocked around quite a bit recently, I was getting used to it. This time, I didn’t faint. Instead, I rubbed the fresh lump on my head and said with a pitiful expression, “What’s going on here? Aren’t you all just characters in my dream? How dare you hit your creator?”
Red Beard’s eyes suddenly lit up like two 500-watt lightbulbs, glaring at me with an intensity that sent shivers down my spine.
After a moment, the light in his eyes dimmed, and he muttered to himself, “No wonder… no wonder… How could this be?”
Long Beard asked, “Eulis, what did your ‘Eye of the Mind’ see? Who is this boy, and how was he able to enter our and Livia’s barrier?”
Red Beard gave a wry smile. “Linka, do you remember the ‘Dimensional Lightning’ spell I cast?”
Long Beard nodded. “Of course, I remember. I couldn’t believe you used such an advanced lightning magic spell against me, so I summoned the ‘Mirror Turtle’ to reflect your ‘Dimensional Lightning’ back at you. But strangely, after the spell was reflected, it just vanished.”
Red Beard explained, “The ‘Dimensional Lightning’ is a very unique spell. It doesn’t cause any physical damage when it hits its target but instead transports them to another dimension. This boy doesn’t belong to the Holy Magic Continent. He’s from another world. The reflected ‘Dimensional Lightning’ must have reversed its effect and brought him here from his world to the Holy Magic Continent.”
