The rest of the school day went by slowly I was dragging the time the day was over. I sat on the steps of the entrance of the school with lacy and Christian while I waited for Lucas to pick me up. “So, you think I can come over?” Lacy asked me. And Christian gave her a weird look “Lace?” Lacy gave him a serious look “Chris?” she mimicked. Lucas pulled up before I could answer he put his slick black BMW’s tinted window down and I went up to the car and put my head in the window. “Hey” I giggled and scolded myself mentally why did I do that I never giggle.
“Hello little Luna are you coming through the window, or should I show you how the door works?” Lucas “very funny you are absolutely hilarious” I gave him a fake laugh. “Can my friends come?” I asked and gave him a big smile and batted my long black eyelashes at him. He gave me a look that told me he was thinking. “Please Alpha Lucas?” I asked and his face lit up with pride and joy. “Sure, little Luna of course.” He spoke and I looked back at Lacy and Christian and gave them a thumbs up and Lacy squealed and tugged on Christian’s arm, and he had a look of annoyance on his face. They both came to the car Lacy bounded happily and Christian trudged begrudgingly. Lacy hugged me once I pulled myself out of the window, she was obviously very excited she got in the car and Christian got into the car in the backseat next to Lacy. I placed my backpack in the passenger seat through the window and then I got in.
Lucas took my backpack and passed it to the back where Lacy took it and blushed like he was giving her a rose instead of my tattered old bag. “Buckle up Luna” Lucas said to me sternly I could physically hear Christian’s eyes roll. I buckled up his car was so nice. The interior was very nice well taken care of black leather. The seat belts were soft not stiff like other cars. The car was so clean everything appeared to shine.
“All good in the backseat?” Lucas asked and Lacy squealed, and I could imagine the jealous look on Christian’s face. “I’m going to take that as a yes.” Lucas smiled and started driving towards the pack house. I looked out the window over the pack lands as we drove, I was quiet Lacy was talking the whole time. The pack lands were absolutely breath taking. It was fall my favorite season. The trees were nearly bare, I liked them that way.
The ground was covered in a beautiful orange cascade of fallen leaves. A memory of walking through the leaves with my father and jumping into piles of leaves with mother popped into my head. I could still feel the wind hitting me blowing my blonde curls over my face as I jumped. The sound of the leaves crunching, and my mother’s laughter filled my brain. I could still hear my grandparents talking and laughing on the porch as they watched us.
I felt tears fill my eyes and roll down my flushed chubby cheeks. “Little Luna?” Lucas asked. I sniffled and wiped my face quickly “hm?” I responded. “Olivia, are you crying?” Lucas placed his hand on my shoulder, he was concerned I could hear it in his voice. “No, I’m okay” I tried to reassure him by now the whole care was so quiet. All to be heard was my sniffles and the slight low buzz of the radio.
“Come on Liv I wasn’t born yesterday I know something is wrong just tell me so I can fix it” Lucas spoke gently. “Lucas I just had a memory pop in my head, and it made me a bit sad that’s it I’m fine okay.” I finally said and looked at him he pulled into the driveway of the pack house and kissed my forehead. It was a soft warm lingering kiss. “Want to talk about it?” Lucas asked me when he pulled away. I quickly shook my head “I just want to hang out with my friends, okay?” I whispered.
“of course, princess” Lucas nodded, and I got out of the car and Christian and Lacy did too. Christian placed a hand on my
shoulder. “You sure you are okay Liv?” he asked, and I nodded a low growl could be heard from Lucas as he exited the car and went inside the beautiful pack house. I walked my friends inside the house was huge the alpha and Luna must have planned on more children because there is so much room. The outside of the house was very presidential. White and marble the inside was just pretty. The floor was made of marble black and white and was extremely clean.
A sparkling gold chandler hung from the very high ceiling. I walked my friends to the grand staircase it was lined with red velvet and the railing wrapped in twinkling silver lights. Lacy was in awe “oh my stars Ollie this place is stunning!” she exclaimed. “It’s alright” Christian spoke unimpressed. “no one made you come Chrissy” Lacy teased. “Correction you made me come little red” Christian spoke and looked at her with a stern look. Lacy rolled her eyes. “I didn’t have my claws to your throat” Lacy added. I rolled my eyes at the two of them as we walked down the hall.
The Hallway was lined with the same red velvet from the stairs. The walls lined with pictures of the past Alpha’s and their Lunas. I led them to my bedroom, the smallest room at the end of the hall. I opened the door a very plain looking door noting special a basic white color and gold handle. From the outside all the rooms looked the same.
I walked in and let them in and closed the door so we wouldn’t be bothered. Every room in the pack house has high ceilings and chandlers. My room was no different despite it being the smallest. There was a bookcase in the corner of the room, it was absolutely overflowing with books. My bed was a full bed which was perfect for me. It had nice white cotton sheets on it and a soft yellow quilt. All my clothes were color coded and hung neatly in the closet behind the door.
My bathroom was across from my bed, I usually kept the door closed. It was always nice and pristine with white tile and marble. I always kept it clean. I have a shower and a big bathtub. Both my friends seem surprised by my room. I had photos hung on the walls photos of my parents and me when I was younger and Christian and lacy and myself. Christian was looking at them all.
I sat on my bed and tucked my legs under me Lacy sat across from me on the bed “so what was that in the car?” she asked, breaking the awkward silence. I sat there for a minute playing with my hands nervously. “The leaves reminded me of a memory of my parents when we would jump in them it just made me miss them” I said and looked down.
