The Cake

On her way to school Gwen saw her friend Danica she waved and called " Danica, Danica" Danica saw her and smiled and greeted her "Good morning Gwen", Gwen said Good morning too. And they happily walk to their classroom, When suddenly Danica remember something "wait Gwen do you have plans on your upcoming 8th birthday?" Gwen became sad and answered, "I don't want to make my parents sad if I ask about it because I'm sure they cannot afford to give me even a simple birthday party" Danica realized that she just asked a wrong question that made Gwen sad, " please don't be sad Gwen I can bring my Dolls and toys in your place and we can play instead. Gwen smiled and said " Oh I appreciate it Danica thank you for being a good friend, and then they hugged each other's tight and laughed " we are late we have to run Gwen," Danica said and they rushed into their classroom. After their class Gwen waited for Danica outside so they can both go out and meet their Moms outside the school, " Danica let's go Mom is waiting for us, and Danica picked her bag and run next to Gwen, " Gwen! On their way home Gwen asked her Mom " Mommy have you ever tasted a cake and how old are you when you first ate a cake? Regina suddenly became sad but she doesn't want Gwen to know, " I was 2 year old when I first had a cake, may I know why did you asked?" " oh nothing Mom I just want to know " and smiles at her Mom. Regina knows that Gwen's birthday is next week and she saved some money to buy her a new dress and shoes , that's their plan. The night before Gwen's birthday her father got sick, " I need to take to the clinic Regina said to Andrew but Andrew said " no I'm okay and besides we don't have money the money we saved is for our daughter's shoes and dress I want her to be happy tomorrow on her birthday", Regina looked down and said " Gwen is very good daughter and she will understand if we can't give her a present and we care more about you" Gwen heard her Mom talking to her Dad and she knocked on the door " Mom may I come in?" Regina open the door for Gwen and let her in, " Hi Dad how are you feeling?" Danica asked her Dad. Gwen said laughing,.And they all laughed. Andrew knew that there's nothing wrong with his health he works too hard for his family. Gwen went back to her room with her Mom for her bedtime stories. When Regina know that Gwen's asleep, she went back to their room and saw her husband sleeping, she went to the kitchen to clean up and closed the lights and head back to the room to sleep.
