Romain After shoving the house key in my pocket, I fix my gaze on Yasmine, who's tied up and gagged inside her closet. She’s glaring at me and I don’t blame her. I used her, after all. “I’m sorry,” I say. “All I can promise you is that nobody will get hurt. This time, at least.” She closes her eyes and tries to move, but I’ve wrapped her up like a present, and there’s no escaping for her. When I return—after I pay the Cinmerians a visit—I’ll set her loose. I don’t know what I’ll do afterward, though. There’s no guarantee that she won’t open her mouth and run to the enforcers once she’s free. I don’t have a solid plan. I guess I’ll fight it out as I go. I shut the door of the closet, leaving her in the dark, then I step out. I’ll take her car because it’ll get me there faster. Af
