Jenny hung back as Bryan unlocked the door to their apartment, her duffel bag thrown over her shoulder. The last thing she’d expected was for him to walk into her garage, but he’d done just that, an apologetic smile on his face, two tickets for the newest Owen Wilson comedy in hand. So she’d gone, and they’d laughed, and they’d gone out afterward for burgers, and neither one of them had mentioned the fact that she’d been gone for four days, or what had prompted her to leave in the first place, or what—if anything—was going to change.
