Chapter 27The trip to the surface took twelve minutes. Javi noted the time. The Harriet led the way, the flotilla of landing ships from the Sword coming after. No resistance came from the ground—a good thing as they had no means to fight it. Part way there a communication came through from the Triumph.
“You’ve been noticed,” Captain Jonas reported. “Nothing launched in pursuit from here yet. They’re arguing about it.”
“Noted,” Queza replied to him. “Advise us immediately of anything launched in pursuit.”
“Roger that. Do you want us to fire on anything that does come after you?”
“No,” Arien said.
“As ordered,” Queza said. “Thank you, Captain.”
He signed off and Queza looked at Arien, as if wanting to object, but Arien didn’t allow it.
