Chapter 14

524 Words
It's a new week, and Ivy is hurrying to her morning lectures, the campus is busy as usual-it was always busy. She walked briskly towards the hall and turned sharply at a corner, almost bumping into someone "So sorry" "Sorry" they said in unison, looking up It's her.... Seraphina "Oh hey, you again" Seraphina spoke first "I keep seeing you everywhere Ivy slightly chuckled "Not everywhere, else you'll see me in your hostel- you stay at a hostel right?" she added the question This girl really amused her in the few times they've met. Ivy thought, "As if I do stay in a hostel, you?" " I do too, I stay at Queens" "Why? Because you're a queen?" Ivy joked "Oh please, don't make me blush" Seraphina replied lightheartedly Ivy coughed to cover her grin " I stay at Francesca's" "That's good" "s**t! If I keep talking with you, I'm going to be late to class" Ivy said hurriedly. Seraphina laughed as Ivy quickly walked away...towards the lecture hall After the class, Ivy was walking to the cafeteria when she saw the girl again, this time laughing with a group of students as they discussed whatever it was that they discussed- she seemed to be seeing her everywhere, what a small world At this point she could recognise her anywhere she felt something in her stomach twist and she quickly looked away and continued walking As she left her final class she overheard two students talking to each other "Seraphina? That girl?" "She got herself in trouble last semester" " I heard she's a stubborn one, I mean look at her hair, she's daring" Ivy walked past. She wasn't about to stay listening to campus gossip, though it made her curious, but she erased the thoughts from her mind. That night in her hostel room, Ivy lay on her bed staring at the ceiling. She wasn't thinking about the girl, no, she wasn't- who was she kidding, she totally was. There's this air around her that drew Ivy in. Why had she crossed Ivy's path two times today? Why were they meeting often? The campus was large enough. Maybe she should ask her what she was studying the next time they meet... that's if they meet again, something in her told her that they would- they might be having similar classes hence their meeting She couldn't answer herself, she turned on her bed and picked up her phone, going through social media. This was her second semester already, and college had been overwhelming, but it was better than her toxic household; she now had her freedom, and her parents couldn't tell her what to do here. She remembered how her mother called her one Sunday afternoon, asking her how her college life was going, if she had gone to church that day, and if she had been attending church since she arrived. Ivy lied that she had to save her lectures that weren't related to her studies. She didn’t want that so she always lied about it. She got tired of scrolling through social media, dropped her phone, and called to sleep. It answered.
