It is just so distressing how I have to finish this work in just a short time.   While I look through some papers, my phone rings and when I check the caller ID, it is mom. "Hello mom," I answer in a tired voice. "I can't believe you are still at office at such an hour." Camila said warily.   "I just have a lot of work I have to finish at office and I will be back home in no time." I said. "I hate it when you over work yourself." Camila scolded. I sighed hard knowing mom will not drop the topic now.   "I know mom but I have no choice."   "And don't you forget about what this weekend." she said sternly. "How could I mother? Of course we will come." I said. "Now don't tire yourself so much  and come back home soon dear." "Okay mom. Take a rest now." I said warmly.   When she hang up, I sighed hard knowing how much I have to do. Mom invited me and Nicholas to a lunch over the weekend. She told me she wanted to get to know Nicholas better but I knew that wasn't the only reason she wanted us there.   She wanted to check on how I was progressing with him and if I was betraying the plan. I would never betray the plan no matter what. Speaking of which, I had made it a mission to avoid Nicholas at any cost.   On our date, things got a little out of hand in a way I didn't like. Things upgraded at a first rate and then we kissed. I can't believe I kissed him and just thinking about it, I still feel his lips on mine which is just so disturbing.   I have tried for the past week to avoid his calls and I have been sending my personal assistant for meetings. He has continued sending me flowers that have occupied most of my office. When I look at them now, I just realize how stupid this all looks.   Perhaps I would have thrown them or returned them back but just having them in my office makes it feel special. Their bright petals make my office feel alive and with the witty cards that usually come along, it is just interesting.   Nicholas is such a romantic person and I will give him that. He has been persuasive about taking me on a date for the last week but I have always turned him down or tell my intern to tell him I was busy.   Just thinking about the devil, Nicholas caller ID appears on my screen. "It is good you decided to pick up today." he says in a neutral tone. "Well I have been busy Nicholas." I reply exhausted.   "That reply is getting quite old, don't you think Patricia?" he said.   "Well, I am quite Nicholas. Unlike you..." "Actually I called to ask you how you are." he cut me off. Was he kidding me? Who calls a person at eleven at night to ask how they are.   "Are you.." "Just answer the damn question Patricia." This man cutting me off is getting on my nerves. I am already tired for all this. "I am fine thank you." I reply in a hard tone.   "Oh my God Patricia, I am trying to ask how you are. I want an honest answer, how you are feeling, how was your day. That is all I want to know." Nicholas said in a calm tone.   There is something about his baritone voice and British accent that is so calming and coaxing. Do I really want to answer that?   I sigh, "Exhausting, I am actually very tired from reading all these papers. I just want to go to my bed but I just can't, not yet."   "Are you still at office?" he asked. "Yeah." "Have you eaten yet?" "Well, I am a bit hungry but I will pass. I have to finish these files." I yawned.   "Can I come over, perhaps give you company?" Nicholas suggested.   "No, I am fine." I replied immediately.   "Don't you think you are a bit late for that?" he said. I was in a daze about what he was saying.   "What do you mean?" I muttered.   "All I am saying is I am already here at your office."   Suddenly the door flew open revealing a grinning Nicholas. "Hello Patricia." I gaped. "Nicholas, what are you doing here?" I asked surprised.   "I wanted to see you. You have been avoiding my calls so I thought I could just come and surprise you." he grinned wider. "And I thought you might be hungry so I brought you some Chinese." I had not realised the bags in his hand until he put them on the table.   It is now I realise his full appearance, black jeans, black sweater shirt and his hair looks tousled and looks clean shaven. At this hour, I would never have expected to see something so beautiful. Nicholas was one of a kind and I felt the temperature rise suddenly in the room.   I don't need to think of my enemy's son like that. He was also an enemy to me.   "I am busy Nicholas, I do..." "I know you are tired Patricia and you need a break because that's why I am here. Whether you have a thousand files left or not, I don't fuckin care." Nicholas walked closer to me. He reached behind me his height towering over mine.   Then his hand started massaging my shoulders. When I wanted to protest, his hands halted my words by brushing my hair from my neck. "Relax Tricia, I came here because I knew you needed me. So just sit and relax." he coaxed as he continued to massage my neck.   I knew deep inside that I needed this and even if I didn't, my body needed it. His touch was just magical when he massaged me. I felt really relieved with the ache in my shoulders and body.   His presence in my office brought a sudden calmness I didn't know. He was right, I needed him. "How do you feel?" Nicholas asked in an almost hypnotic voice.   "Good, it feels awesome." I replied my eyes closed enjoying the sensation of his hands. "I really missed you." he murmured in a quiet tone. My eyes quickly snapped open finding a smirking Nicholas.   I immediately wiggled out of his touch. Nicholas walked back sitting across from me. "Hope you are still hungry?" he asked and I nodded. He passed me one bag and I immediately took it eagerly. I had not realised how hungry I am until I smell the aroma of the ramen noodles.   "Thanks," I smiled at him. "Everything for you." he winked at me and suddenly I felt a blush creep my face. I began to dig in making sure to avoid Nicholas's eyes. His eyes are only trouble to my body.   "So since you have been avoiding me, should I call this our second date?" Nicholas smirked at me. "I don't know, what do you think Nicholas?" I arched a brow at him. "We are in your office, me and you eating Chinese that sounds like a date." he grinned. His boyish dimpled grin caused a tight knot in my stomach.   "Then a date it is." I flirted back. "I like that you have been receiving my flowers and have kept them. They look good in here." he smiled. "I love the feeling of them in here, they make my office lively." I muttered looking at the beautiful flowers in my office.   "Just like you make me." Nicholas muttered.   "I am sorry," l immediately asked before I stopped myself.   "You make me feel alive Patricia. I don't know but there is something about you that makes me feel so lively."   Nicholas was no longer smiling now but staring into my eyes with his beautiful amber eyes.   My heart skipped a beat at his words. Allover a sudden I couldn't bring myself to move or speak, I was just staring, getting lost into the fire eyes.   Nicholas smirked breaking my trance making me straighten like it could stop my erratic beating heart. "I..Actually mom told me to invite you. We have a kind of family lunch so I am inviting you." I said awkwardly.   Never in my life had I ever been nervous around a man but just simple words from Nicholas got my whole heart thumping vaguely. I really need him to leave despite his food. This means I have to change the topic.   "I am honestly shocked but I don't have a choice, now do I?" he smirked again. "I guess no." I replied standing up disposing the leftovers in the bin. It is now I realised how much the heels were quite becoming unbearable.   When I looked back at him, he was staring at my feet. I have never felt so insecure about my body but now, I feel a scalding from his gaze.   I am dressed in a pencil skirt with a white long sleeved blouse. My coat is laying on top of my chair. Fortunately his gaze returned to my face but he was glaring at me now.   "Are you a sadist? I swear I should be the first know." he frowned at me. I was now offended, how could he say to me something like that. I am no sadist.   "Excuse me," I glared at him.   "Do you gain pleasure from hurting yourself." Nicholas gazed at my feet again.   "No," I curtly replied.   "Then you are going to sit down and remove the damn heels." he ordered. I am not a good person at following orders and all Nicholas should know he was treading on deep waters. "No, you don't get to tell me anything I should do with my life." I muttered.   "Do it yourself or else I am going to be forced to do it myself." he said in a hard tone.   "You know what Nicholas, thanks for the food and visit but I think you should leave now." I said through gritted teeth.   "Don't say i didn't warn you. You pushed me Patricia." Before I knew it, Nicholas drags me to the chair sitting me down. Even when I tried to fight him, he was just so strong. "You fuckin son of a bitch." I muttered angrily.   "Oh yes, now better sit still and give me your legs." "Like hell I would." I scoffed.   Just before I could process a hell lot of things, Nicholas's lips claimed mine. Pure shock enveloped me as I felt the soft lips onto mine again. I froze and my brain went into a wreck.   Like his plan had worked, Nicholas pulled his lips from mine with a satisfied smile. He bent down before me and took my leg. I didn't fight him this time even when I wanted. His kiss was like a curse to my brain.   He removed the stilettos putting my legs down on the cool marbled floor of my office. Even though I didn't want to admit it, it felt good having the damn heels off. "There done," he stood up.   I glared at him when in other words I felt relieved. I just didn't want to feel like I have lost in front of him. "If you are done, then get out." I muttered seriously.   "About that, we are actually leaving together." Nicholas said in a serious tone.   "I think you are both deaf and blind Nicholas, I have a lot of work here and as you can see, you are already interrupting me." I glared at him. His height was now intimidating me where I sat.   "I see you want me to do it the hard way then." Nicholas muttered.   Immediately Nicholas scooped me up from the chair and I squeaked in shock. What was with he going cave man on me?   "You i***t, put me down." I growled but Nicholas ignored my yell. He instead continued to carry me out my office to the quiet empty office.   "Put me down." I struggled in his arms.   "You as well want to keep calm. You wouldn't want the guards walking in on us like this." he smirked at me.   I sighed and groaned frustrated as I struggled for him to let me go. He took me down into the elevator. "Will you put me down now?" I said through gritted teeth. Nicholas put me down with a smirk as I glared at him.   "If you ever do that again, I swear.." "What Patricia? What will you do now?" Nicholas walked to me and goddamn it, the elevator was so small.   Even when I walked backwards, my back hit the elevator walls His hands caged me as my back hit the elevator.   "Scared now Patricia?" he c****d an eyebrow at me teasingly. "Get away from me." I threatened seriously. Oh God, how I wanted to wipe that smug look from that face.   To my surprise, he obliged. He stepped away from me. Nicholas was getting on my nerves this night. I really hated the way he made my whole body worked up just by his presence. We stood in the elevator until it dinged.   When we got out, I was embarrassed to see the night watch guard staring at me in a daze. Of course, the mighty Patricia Nielsen was walking out of an elevator bare foot, tousled hair with a man at this kind of hour.   Nicholas smirked at my flushed face as the guard continued watching us. This was like a walk of shame and now I really hated Nicholas Perkins. I thought you already hated him. I felt like slapping my brain for mocking me.   "As soon as we went out, I distanced myself from Nicholas walking to my silver Bugatti. "I am taking you home so you are getting into my car.“ Nicholas announced. "f**k you Perkins." ‘’I would be glad to." Jesus, the fuckin moron was smirking. I rolled my eyes at him but I don't think I was in the mood to argue with him anymore. I was so much tired and I had had enough drama for today. I wanted go back to my bed which was Nicholas free and rest. Nicholas opened the door for me and I glared at him before I entered.
