Chapter 16
Everly’s head roared as she opened her eyes and looked around. She could see light and movement, were the vampires back?
She tried to listen to what was being said but the roaring sound in her head continued. Finally, the last of the bodies was moved and she could move again.
“My Queen.” One of the guards sighed with relief as he helped her up. She looked down at the vampires that had covered her to protect her from the attack.
“Are they dead?” She whispered.
“Not yet Ma’am.” The guard replied.
“No, no wait. Please wait. These ones here.” She said pointing to 5 of the vampires. “They were trying to save me. They literally covered me with their bodies after the other ones attacked. I hit my head on the way down but that isn’t their fault at all.”
“What do you remember?”
