It was Sunday, right after mass like Mark planned. They started the challenge. “The Einstein” versus “Wednesday 2.0”, who will win? In their parents' room, is where they started the Reyes' greatest sibling battle ever. Well, not really like in history. "Oh, sige. Ready na?" The both agreed. Their mother, Celia, then reads the first word. “Fatigue.” Mark then scoffed and exclaimed, "What a piece of cake!"
"Sige, tapos na?" said Nanay Celia. "Be ready to reveal you answers in 3,2,1." she added. As they showed their answers, something was off. Mark spelled it correctly meanwhile Velia missed one letter. "Mali ka Velia, walang U yung fatigue mo." said Nanay Celia. "Hah! I was right! Even the simplest words, already struggling with the spelling!" mocked Mark. "Itigil na yan Mark. Hindi maganda yung sinasabi mo kay Velia." scolded Nanay Celia. "But it's the truth! What's with you to scold me for being honest?" replied Mark. Nanay Celia clears her throat, signaling Mark to stop already, with fierce eyes tingling into Mark's bones. "Okay fine! I was just joking!" Mark exclaimed. "Sige, dalawa na ang nabasahan ko na salita at si Mark pa ang naka sagut ng tama. Magbigay lang ako ng simple words para mabigyan ng chance si Velia, kahit isa lang ang masagut niya." discussed Nanay Celia."I don't care, it's obvious that I've won already." Mark boasted. "Oh, eto na last." “Beautiful.” said Nanay Celia. The two wrote quickly, then showed their answers. "Walang E at A yung beautiful mo, Velia. Si Mark ang nanalo." announced Nanay Celia. Mark smiled then exclaimed. "Yes! I knew it! Although if you want to be better, I can teach you. At least your brain can finally be filled with something." "Mark!" shouted Nanay Celia. But again, Velia didn't care. As Mark left the room with triumph, Nanay Celia asked. "Nak, bakit ka nagpatalo? Ang galing mo naman mag Spelling, top 1 sa District at regional. Tapus maraming kang alam na mga language mo parin. Alam mo mag English, Tagalog, Espanyol at Latin. Ano namang nangyari?" As Velia laid an ear on her mother, she then put a finger in the center of her lips."Ano namang gagawin mo sunod?" said Nanay Celia with a harsh, deep voice. Velia smirked then grabbed her planner. (If mama can't humble Mark down, then I will.) She thought. As Velia went to the living room downstairs, she bumped into Mark. "Actually, the schedule was moved to Tuesday due to other events already coming tomorrow." said Mark. "Since I pity you, let's try again tomorrow." he added. Velia agreed, but this time she had to let her intellect show. Mark doesn't know what's coming. A lesson he'll SURELY, never forget.
