Chapter 4

1355 Words
-Peanut P.O.V.-  BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG  “YOU BETTER BE UP!” My step-father yells through my locked door.  He will wake me up like this every single morning. He will bang on my door before yelling for me to be up. My body is now used to the time that my step-father wakes me so I wake up just before the banging and yelling. My step-father is a mean old bastard who looks for an opportunity to beat me. If I get into trouble at school or if the school calls saying I was bullied then I just get 10x worse at home. After the first time, I had to beg the school nurse to not call my parents or tell the principal as my parents could not know. She tried to question me on this but I wouldn’t budge. Thankfully ever since I said something to her, she has never once called my parents and has always kept it a secret about what happens to me at school.  I groan as I get out of bed and head over to the bathroom that is attached to my room. I quickly shower, brush my teeth, and then put on some deodorant before heading back out to get dressed. I don’t have many clothes so I just choose some simple jeans, a black t-shirt, and my trusty old pair of vans. Once that was all over with, I picked my bookbag off of the floor and quickly headed out of my room. I sneak down the stairs before rushing out of the front door. I lean against the front door and pant as I know my step-father won’t dare to do anything to me outside of the home. I open my eyes to see Andrei’s car sitting in front of my house and I quickly blush as I forgot that he would be here.  Ever since that day in the nurse's office, he has been picking me up in the mornings and taking me home too. I don’t know what it is about him, but he does something to me that just made me quickly agree to him picking me up and dropping me off. I feel weirdly safe around him too...I start to walk down towards his car and soon, Dola is climbing out of the passenger's seat.  “You really don’t have to do that.” I quickly say with a blush.  She smiles at me. “You have been saying that for the past 3 mornings and this would make it the 4th. If you haven’t noticed, I am not listening to you so sit your cute butt down in the passenger's seat.”  I just blush even more as she just chuckles and quickly sits in the back of the car. I hesitantly climb into the passenger's seat while making sure to close the door behind me. I take off my bookbag and place it at my feet before putting on my seatbelt. Andrei doesn’t say anything as he drives off and I don’t dare to look at him because if I did then I am unsure if I would be able to look away. Thankfully, Dola keeps me from squirming in my seat.  “So, Peanut. What are your plans for the weekend? Today is Friday after all.” She says with such a sweet voice. She always has a sweet soft voice.  “I don’t have any plans. Never do.” I say back. Truth be told, I am always gone for the weekends as that is the time for my step-father to beat me. Thankfully, the next door neighbor takes me in for the weekend as I help her with her house. She is an old lady that knows what goes on in my home.  “That sucks. What about you, twin?” She asks her twin-brother, Andrei. I notice they always call each other twin and I just think that is so cute.  “Depends.” Andrei says while pulling into the school parking lot.  “Depends on what?” Dola asked and I could hear the annoyance in her voice.  “Depends on Peanuts answer.” Andrei says just as he parked the car and I whip my head to look at him with wide-eyes. Answer to what???  “See you two later.” Is all I hear from Dola followed by the car door closing.  Andrei turns in his seat, after unbuckling his seatbelt, while looking at me. “What answer?” I ask him in a timid voice.  Andrei smiles and I could feel my insides melting. “Spend the whole weekend with me.”  SPEND THE WHOLE WHAT???!! “You want to spend the whole weekend with me? Me?” I question as if this is some kind of joke.  That was not the right thing to say because Andrei frowns. “Yes, you. I want to spend the whole weekend with you. So will you? I won’t take no as an answer.”  My eyes go wide, but I quickly close them to get myself under control. I take a few breaths before opening my eyes up again to find Andrei just waiting for my answer. “Yes. I will spend the weekend with you.”  Andrei smiles and it causes me to sink back in my seat. Why do his smiles affect me so damn much?? “Come on.” Andrei says, causing me to snap out of myself. I quickly unbuckle my seatbelt and grab my book-bag before heading out of the car. I close the door and see that Andrei is waiting for me by the trunk. He locks the car while I walk over to where he is and then we both walk side by side through the parking lot and into school.  I just keep my head down as I walk because I never want to draw attention to myself...well that was until Andrei started to walk with me into school. Now it seems like everybody is either looking at us or trying to talk to me to get to Andrei. Which pisses me off because before they could never give me the time of day, but now here they are wanting to know me and act like I exist. They are just fake. Now, I have noticed that Andrei just ignores everyone except for me or his sister. It does make me feel a little special that he now pays attention to me as before it was just his sister.  “Let’s sit over there.” Andrei’s voice causes me to get out of my head. I nod as I let him lead us to a table that no one is sitting at. Funny enough this is always the table that I sit at in the mornings.  We soon walk over and sit down while I leave my bookbag on as Andrei takes his off and lays it on the table. I watch as he runs a hand through his dirty blonde hair. He wore it down today so I could see the full length of it. I looked down to see his neck as it was semi-thick with muscles and I could see his adams apple sitting there in the middle of his neck. I looked further down to see that he was wearing 3 gold chain layered necklaces that sit perfectly on his chest. I quickly felt a gaze on me and I snapped my eyes up to see him staring at me. I blushed as I pushed up my glasses and looked away.  Thankfully the bell saved me from further embarrassment and I quickly stood up. I started to head to my class and I could feel someone behind me...but I didn’t need to turn around to know that it was Andrei as he has been making sure no one harms me while on my way to class. I quickly head into the classroom as my body cannot handle being around him right now while I rush to my seat and plop down. This is going to be a long day...and weekend...
