CHAPTER 4
“He asked you OUT?!” Autumn squealed into the phone.
Brooke moved the device away from her ear.
“Please, tell me you said yes.”
“I said yes,” Brooke replied, “but I’m having second thoughts…”
“Oh, no you don’t!” Autumn shouted.
Brooke edged the phone farther away. “Please, lower your voice. You’re going to blow out my speaker.”
“Tough noogies,” Autumn replied, thankfully at a more normal volume.
Brooke considered for a moment, and then pressed the speaker button.
Autumn, as expected, continued her tirade without a pause. “Don’t reconsider. In fact, don’t think about it at all. Just go. Go on your date. Eat. Drink. Kiss. Get busy. Anything. Just don’t sit in your room and let another good man hang out to dry.”
