Jacqueline
The last connection from her home world has long since disintegrated she only has the few relics that came with her. Her mother always told her that she was a precious gift. Jacqueline always knew that she was not from this world but that and she was wanted and loved.
Her small village is nestled in the Pyrenees mountains. Her mother Collette was considered an Oddity as she had never been married, had a little girl and her own business. Collette was seamstress, tailor and washer woman. Her shop clothed all the women and men in the surrounding area. Collette passed on to Jacqueline everything she knew about fabric and sewing and old world techniques that have long since been lost.
With Andorra just over the hill and Spain not to far away business was steady and varied. From farmers, vintners, landowners and CEOs Collettes little shop made bespoke clothing . A few years ago Collette got sick, and decided to sell her business so that she could spend the remainder of her life with her daughter Jacqueline.
Jack saw her mother waste away as the cancer grew inside, but she never wasted a precious moment to show her how much she loved her. They spent their days in the garden at the cottage. they travel to the city, tours at the chateaus, bathed in the sea. Mother and daughter would talk and laugh and dance until it got too much for Colette to do anything but rest.
On the day of Collettes funeral so many people from all over offer their condolences. Flowers were bursting forth from the cottage. Notes, cards, emails and letters arrived every day telling Jack what a wonderful mother she had and how much she will be missed. Colette never wanted her daughter to mourn, she wanted her to follow her heart find out what was pulling her eastward.
After settling all of her mother’s affairs and renting out the cottage, Jack had a good nest egg to allow her to follow her heart. Packing up her life seemed easier than she thought it would be.
‘Jack, hunny. You know you can stay with Pedro and I. We would love to have you. There is no need to rush off just yet.’
Jack looked at Leila with a sad smile ‘Thank you Anti but my mom wanted me to follow my heart and that’s what I’m gonna do and right now right now my heart is leading away.’
‘ you will always have a place here and should you need anything we are just a call away wherever you are we will be there in a heartbeat’ Leila crush Jack to her in a giant hug hoping to keep her just a moment longer but knowing that she had her own life to live.
Jack Boarded the train heading farther into France, soon to be leaving Europe. Jack doesn’t remember her first flight but she will remember this one. This is the flight that is leading her to the other half of her heart.
