I am his mate

Chapter five

I knew I shouldn’t have entered this room, my gut was telling me not to. Yet as my stubborn self never listens to anybody, I did what I thought was best for my mate. When I walked into the room I noticed Leo resting in an arm chair comfortably with his legs up in an ottoman. Johnny on the other hand was standing up addressing whom I assumed were Leo’s parents who were resting in very comfortable looking chairs as well. None of them seemed happy with whatever discussion they were having. But as I made myself present in the room everyone seemed to chill; “Good evening sorry for the interruption, Leo I thought I made myself clear that you shouldn’t be in stressful situations for at least 5 more days while your body attempts to close the most dangerous wound” -the one near his lungs- He stared at me for a couple of seconds. “Momma, Dad I’d like you to meet Dr. Emma White, the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen and my future wife” I was pink all over my face as I turned around to address Leo’s parents. “Its very nice to meet you” was all I said as I bowed respectfully. They both stood up, Leo’s mom said “oh please don't be silly its us who should be bowing to you, our future Luna” in my head all I could think while smiling is -oh s**t, things are getting real very fast- They approached me and Leo’s mother Claire, hugged me. Leo’s father Michael, just stretched out his hand and said “Welcome to the family kiddo.” I smiled at both of them and thanked them for the warm welcome, I took a small glance at Johnny who seemed to be looking at me with hatred but attempted to smile at me. 

It was one of those hypocritical smiles that you can really tell are fake. I disregarded him without even making an attempt to smile. When I turned around to direct myself to Leo he simply said “no scolding me anymore” - in a total dramatic way- I chuckled at his stupid joke and before I could say anything else he said “I’ve already asked Ivan to gather some help to get me up to the room” I smiled and said “Thank you, I’ll wait for you there then.” 

Quickly making my way out of the office and upstairs. 

As I went into the bedroom to enjoy my delicious sandwich I couldn’t help but think what was that made Johnny dislike me so much, had I done something to offend him. Then I remembered, he had changed towards me the minute Ivan had announced I was Leo’s mate. I wonder what that had to do with it. Did he not think I was good enough? I had to find out... I was in the middle of my thoughts when I was interrupted by Leo being carried into the room, they were all laughing, Leo, Ivan, Jack and The mysterious man who was in Valentina’s wrangler when they had picked us up. Speaking of... where was Valentina? I returned to earth when Jack approached me and said “Luna I am sorry for my behavior earlier. I was cranky I hadn’t seen my mate in a couple of days and I honestly never thought you were our future Luna” He seemed a bit embarrassed. I chuckled and nodded. “some times we just wake up on the wrong side of the bed” was all I said.

Leo asked what food could he eat and I said anything not too greasy. I sat on the bed next to him while he had some chicken soup made for him and decided to be honest “I haven’t told my father about you” was all I said. He looked at me and said “I figured”. I moved my mouth and looked elsewhere in the room trying to avoid his gaze, he then asked me “why?”. “Honestly, I don’t know why, I think I wanna see where things take us”. I could tell he wasn’t too happy by my response but instead of acting out he just patted the bed closer to him for me to lay down. I did so. I’m not going to lie it was the most comfortable I’ve felt in a while.

Jack brought up Leo’s soup and excused himself. He ate while I went to take a shower. When I got out of the bathroom I was wearing the black set of pjs I brought. He looked at me up and down and said “you truly are beautiful” I smiled and thanked him he had taken his shirt off and was just wearing sweatpants. I got into bed and gave him a quick peck in the cheek, he looked at me seductively but I quickly looked away and instead checked his wounds everything seemed to be healing fine but we could never be too sure. He made me think I had hurt him by checking his stomach and I panicked, but he laughed and I noticed it was a joke. We laughed and then turned our gaze to the tv. It had been a long day and I was so tired that without even noticing I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to my phone vibrating. I opened one eye and saw the caller ID said -Daddy- I jumped out of bed completely horrified and as silently as possible I opened the glass doors that leaded to the balcony. I stepped out and answered his call.

-“Morning Daddy”

-“Good morning sweetheart, did I wake you up?”

-“No daddy, I just got out of the shower”

-“oh, ok well how are you, do you like it there so far?”

-“yes daddy, the hospital is beautiful it has the most amazing equipment” but before I could finish off he simply said 

-“sweetheart?

-“yes daddy?”

“until when are you going to attempt to lie at me?” “What do you mean daddy?” - I was in panic. “do you think I wouldn’t hear that you found your mate?”
