001. The Annoying Stranger.
~KELSIE~
"What in the freaking world!"
I slammed the brakes on my Harley so hard that the tires screeched on the asphalt— almost throwing me off— before finally pulling to a halt, a second away from slamming into the bike in front of me, whose rider was clearly blind.
I squinted through my visor as a result of the sun, my face filling with disgust at this guy who clearly had a death wish. I mean, he was riding down, coming straight at me with full-on speed. I thought he would swerve when he probably realized he was heading into full-on slamming mode.
But did he?
No way in hell.
I had to be the one to pull the brakes, amid a slightly shaken body and adrenaline pumping through me.
What the heck just happened?
Without wasting time, I pulled my helmet off and he took that opportunity to pull off his, his shoulder-length raven-black hair spilling out of the helmet like a lover's secret.
The sun rays grazed his face just as he pressed his hair back to stay in order. And something about that action made me gulp, just as my gaze rested on his strong facial features.
Squared jaws so chiseled that they shone, a pointed nose that indicated great breeding, and full lips that should have belonged to a lady and here he was flaunting it with a cynical smirk that made my blood boil— a mixture of anger and admiration.
I tried to shake off the latter with a firm shake of my head. This stranger almost ran me over with his bike and that was what I should be focusing on, not how striking his features were.
But apparently, my eyes didn't listen as they trailed over his body, noticing how his broad physique filled out those leather outfits, the pants enunciating how striking his long legs were as he rolled off the bike with so much expertise that could be equated to a biker.
"Stop it, Kelsie!" I muttered under my breath.
"Is there a problem, miss? Why are you blocking my path?" The cocky sound of his voice, paired with the look of mock disdain he trailed up and down my frame shoved every form of attraction out of the window— well, mostly.
My head snapped backward. "Excuse me? You almost ran me over. How about we start from there?" I almost barked, placing both hands on my waist, above my leather pants.
A scoff escaped his lips as he got closer. "No darling, you were the one who left your side of the road and rode into mine." He said, adjusting his leather jacket while his gaze bored down at me, giving me a clearer view of his sapphire eyes— the rarest eye color I had ever seen on a guy.
Were they even real?
"Snap out of it, Kelsie!!"
Shaking my head, I stomped my feet to the ground with as much rage as I could muster even when the heat radiating off his body couldn't quite let me think.
"There's nothing of the sort. I was on my side of the road before you—"
My words halted halfway when he suddenly closed the remaining distance between us, causing me to instinctively back away, now resting on my bike, my pupils dilating as I wondered what the hell he was doing.
"Don't fret it too much, Red. Just accept defeat and ride off." His voice dropped to a sexy timbre. Well, not just his voice, his head too as he leaned down slowly, a smirk playing on his lips, probably as a result of my flustered look.
Then his tongue darted out and he licked his lips, those sapphire eyes going a shade darker. My c**t was twitching repeatedly as my gaze rested on those full lips, my panties suddenly feeling sticky.
I mentally widened my eyes.
God! Was I actually wet?!
Sticking my thighs together, I managed to get a hold of myself as his lips were a breath away from mine, and flattened my hand on his rock-hard shoulders, an attempt to pull him backward but it ended up feeling like a caress.
God, I had never felt a chest this hard and—
Damn it, Kelsie. Focus.
Using the last resolve within me, I pushed him back. "Um... What the hell are you doing?"
He tsked, stretching to his full height as if he didn't just make my juices flow with the movement of his lips and his heated gaze.
"Just watch where you're going next time, Red. That's what."
His disdainful expression slipped back as his gaze slid up and down my features.
"God, you're so small." He tsked again, causing my eyes to actually widen this time, my jaws instinctively slacking.
"That's your apology for almost running me over. Are you sick?" I barked, craning my neck as I threw him a murderous gaze.
He might be hella cute, but his attitude needed a lot of adjusting.
His head tilted, that smug expression coming back. "I figured you did that to get my attention."
"Huh?" My brows are reflexively raised. "Did what?"
"Getting into my lane, you dummy." He muttered, throwing his helmet from one hand to the other, too comfortable with the fact that he was actually lying against me.
"What the f**k? Do you have amnesia or something? Or do you f*****g need to get your brains tested? You rode into my lane. Not the other way around!!" I all but hollered.
His gaze left my eyes and fell on my lips, causing my tongue to dry. Damn! What the f**k was wrong with me?
What's worse? He f*****g had to lick those lips again. My c**t twitched for the umpteenth time, and I had to let out a frustrated huff.
Then he shrugged, a knowing smile appearing on his face as though he knew just the effect he had on me.
"If it will help you sleep well at night, then I admit."
My nose flared, anger coursing through me.
"Are you born a gaslighter or what?" I yelled, my frustration clearly on the brink. "How can you be comfortable blaming someone for something you did?"
His smile widened as his gaze trailed slowly over every part of my body as though he wanted to undress me with it. I instantly felt stripped being watched like that, but that couldn't compare to the anger brimming inside of me.
"You almost killed me and this is what you're telling me?"
He closed the distance between us again, his hand resting on my slender shoulders as his gaze softened, holding mine for seemingly endless seconds while his fingers trailed up and down my forearms.
Surprisingly, I stood rooted on the spot, instead of backing away, wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
When it seemed as though he would lean down again, his hands fell away from my shoulders and he stepped back.
"Trust me, I'll do more than kill you from now on. And I mean that in a naughty way."
Shivers instantly shot through my spine, my jaw slacking as I watched him hop on his bike.
"See you in a few hours, Red." He muttered before sliding his helmet and then he rode away, leaving me confused as I whirled around, gaping at his the big Harley that rode away.
"What the f**k was that?"
