The day was slowly turning to evening and it was almost time for the general pack meeting that was called by the Alpha. Possibly about the attack that happened at the school. But that wasn't what Kieran was worried about at that moment. His worry had to do with their personal issue and the surprisingly happy mood Raven came back with.
Standing there more confused than he had ever been in his life, Kieran kept staring at Raven who still had her hand locked with Kreed's own after breaking their kiss. A kiss which moments ago she was sharing with him and now she did the same with his brother. She had a look of certainty now as opposed to her unsure and confused expression she left with.
"What's going on Raven?" Kieran finally found his voice.
"What do you mean?" Kreed who was out of the loop and had no idea what happened, c****d his brow at his twin, wondering what he meant. "She just returned after a week of absence. Aren't you glad she's back? I sure am" He smiled
"Of course I'm happy she's back. And of course you're happy, you've been like a priest for the past week" Kieran teased, and then shifted his gaze to her. He knew she knew what he was talking about.
"I'm sorry this took too long" Raven said for the first time since her arrival. "The development between us three. It turns out, going to the elder's for a week was what I needed to organize my thoughts" She explained.
Kreed tightened his interlocked fingers on hers, shifting his attention to her with a hopeful gaze. "What does that mean? Are you ready to....." He paused, still staring at her hopefully.
"Kieran jnr Kreed Darius, I hereby reject you as my mate" Raven uttered the words, words that have been heavy like a huge rock to her before.
Kreed's eyes widened, glistening with happiness and relief, staring at her with happiness and love. He swiftly looked over at his twin, waiting on him to confirm it and end their predicament, giving his girlfriend back to him.
Kieran felt a twinge in his heart, like it was pricked with a hot dagger. Disappointed and heartbroken, he kept staring at Raven, wondering what happened that made her come back, ready to do it all with ease. His disappointment was visible in his eyes, though he was trying so hard not to show it. He glanced at his brother and saw the impatient and anticipating look in his eyes, urging him to go on.
He sighed, bringing his gaze down to the floor. "Raven June.....I accept your rejection" He replied
"Oh my gosh! Finally!!" Kreed exclaimed with happiness right before hugging Raven and holding her tightly to himself. That was the most tensed and relieved he had ever been in his life. "Thank you so much babe, for doing the right thing" He said softly to her.
He broke the hug and then turned to face his twin with an appreciative smile. "Thanks for doing this brother" He nodded at him.
"Of course bro. Wouldn't betray you like that" He forced a smile. His smile faded when his eyes met Raven's, he felt something was off. She was staring at him strangely. She knew he was about to say something, she immediately shook her head slowly and slyly without Kreed catching on. Seeing that, Kieran swallowed what he was about say, with a questioning look still plastered on his face.
"Now things can go back to the way they were" Kreed stated with a sigh of relief.
Raven smiled at him, turning to face him. "Kreed jnr Kreed Darius, I hereby accept to be your mate" She uttered
"Raven June, I accept to be your mate, your only mate" Kreed replied, sealing them being mates officially right then and there. He immediately pulled her in and kissed her fully on the lips, kissing her passionately, forgetting that Kieran was still standing there.
"Get a room...." Kieran quipped. He kept staring and saw that they weren't stopping. Seeing them exchange that passionate kiss was doing something to him. He did the best thing he could at the moment, getting out of the house. He walked out the door, shutting it behind him, leaving them inside with their privacy to do whatever they wanted.

The time for the pack meeting came. It was night already and everyone was gathered in the townhall which was their meeting hall. They were waiting for the Alpha to come out and state why he called for an urgent meeting. Many had their guesses. Some guessing it was definitely about the attack, others guessing something entirely different, while some was waiting patiently and silently for the Alpha to say it, not wanting to stress their head by trying to guess.
The hall was filled with noise, sounds of the pack murmuring and discussing between each other. Kieran and Kreed were no different, they were present as well, standing right in the front of the pack, also waiting for their mother to step out with the Alpha. She was his right hand Beta after all. Everyone respected her just as much as they respected the Alpha. She was like the mother of the pack with how she carried them and that increased the pack love for her.
Not to compare, but pit against the Alpha's mate and wife, the Luna of the pack who's supposed to actually be the mother of the pack, Tessa would outshine her when it comes to the love of the pack. They took her more like the Luna than the actual Luna who mostly keeps to herself and hardly engaged in activities or conversation with anyone.
With the Alpha finally stepping out from the door at the right side of the hall, the hall immediately became quiet. The noise died down as all eyes were fixed at the Alpha. The Alpha stood on the podium with Tessa and his Luna standing behind him on both sides. Tessa's eyes fell on her boys who stood at the front of the pack and she smiled at them, nodding.
"We all have heard of the attack that happened at the school!" Alpha Damien started, not wasting time to dive into the subject of the night. The crowd murmured their replies. "Good. And we all know that the school is the most important landmark of our town and pack. The school is the center and heart of our pack and if it should go down, our pack will most likely go down with it. That is how important that school is to our pack. It holds and houses the future of our pack. Now it was attacked by our enemies with the sole purpose of testing our defenses..."
"Who are they?" An unknown wolf shouted from amongst the crowd.
Alpha Damien fell silent for a sec and then glanced at Tessa who nodded for him to go on. "They call themselves the Red Lotus" He answered and the pack reacted just as he had expected, surprised, confused and a bit scared. They began discussing amongst themselves, sharing their fear. The hall was filled immediately with noise.
"Settle down!" Tessa called loudly and the pack members obliged, returning their focus to the Alpha.
"Frankly, we have nothing on them, who their leader is, their numbers and motive behind their threatening and pending attack.....that was until we received a letter yesterday, a letter from someone claiming to be the leader of the so called Red Lotus" He announced and the pack gasped quietly, interested in knowing what the letter entailed.
"In the letter, the so called leader, called himself, Kane" Alpha Damien paused for a second before continuing. "Apart from his name, he wrote their motive....." He paused again, staring at the impatient eyes of his pack as they were waiting desperately and listening intentively to hear what this villain group wants. "They are asking that we hand over all the Direwolves, including myself and everyone who supports them" He broke the news.
The pack gasped in shock and began arguing amongst themselves. The hall became very noisy, more noisy than before as they were voicing their fear and concerns. Some talking about how obsurd their demand was. Others having mixed feelings, not knowing what to say, if it was a little price to pay to avoid another war. Kreed and Kieran wasn't an exception. They stared at each other with furrowed brows, trying to make sense of it.
"Silence!" The Alpha ordered and decorum slowly returned to the hall. "We know how this must sound and look to some of you but we are a pack that does not negotiate with our enemies. I assure you, no one will be given to them. Their demand is unacceptable" Alpha Damien explained and instantly tore the letter in their presence. "Fear not, no matter their numbers, I'm sure they aren't up to our pack or else they would have attacked already. We have a plan to counter them and end their rebellion and also bring this Kane to justice"
"Yeah!" The pack cheered. Hearing him say that gave them a boost of confidence, just what they needed.
"But for now, we have to be vigilant so as to prevent what happened at the school from happening again. We are tightening the security at the borders and also increasing the patrol team around our territory, so we can see them coming from a mile away whenever they choose to attack again" Tessa pointed out.
"Yeah!" They all cheered.
"We are also going to assign guard wolves to the school. Wolves who can stand guard for as long as the school session is on. So if you know you're willing to volunteer, meet with the principal" She added
"And also, the students. We know a lot of you are not helpless and are actual strong and fighting wolves. We are going to need your assistance also in tackling this villain group" The Alpha added. "That is mostly it for this meeting" He concluded.

Knocking continuously on the front door, Kieran had a lot on his mind. He was thinking about what was said at the pack meeting, and also thinking about what happened before the pack meeting, hence why he found himself right there, knocking and waiting for a response and seeking for an explanation. He stopped knocking immediately when he felt it.
Few seconds later the door clicked open and he received the shock of his life. Raven's hand stretched out, grabbing his white tee and pulling him into the house. She shut the door and pushed him against it, immediately ravaging his lips with hers, kissing him deeply with so much passion and pent up urge.
Kieran wasted no time in accepting her kiss and sinking in, giving in to the intense feeling. Amidst the kiss, his eyes shot open, staring at her closed ones. He immediately came back to his senses, realizing that wasn't why he was there. He used every fiber of his being to break the kiss, holding her away from him.
She opened her eyes, staring at him with a puzzled look, her baby blue eyes glistening. Those eyes of hers always stirred something in Kieran. It was one of his favorite physical features of hers. "What's the problem?" She asked with her tiny voice.
"The prob....it's me Raven....it's Kieran, not Kreed" Kieran explained, confused about the situation and what she just asked.
"Of course I know it's you silly. I can tell you both apart, remember?" She smiled.
"Then I don't understand, if you know it's me, then why did you just do that right now? Kissing me so hungrily right after you rejected me and accepted my brother as your mate. Shouldn't you be loyal to him now and have everything with me cut off with the rejection?" He questioned with furrowed brows, still holding her in place in front of him.
"You really are clueless, dumbass" She teased
"What?"
"When you came here, knocking and I came to answer the door, didn't you feel it? Our mate bond?" She asked
Kieran thought about it, realizing that's what he felt and stopped knocking. "Yeah" He nodded
"And back at your house after I rejected you, did you feel the connection sever between us? Didn't you continue to feel the bond?" She asked again.
Kieran was getting more confused with her questions as he kept realizing all what she was saying. He actually kept feeling the bond but didn't pay attention to it, paying attention to just her words of rejection. And right there he was feeling the bond with her. "What's going on Raven? Why am I still feeling it?"
"That's because I didn't reject you silly!" She announced, smiling broadly and mischievously.
"What?"
"I didn't actually reject you..." She paused and fished out something from her jacket's inner pocket. She opened her palm for him to see what she brought out. It was placed at the center of her palm.
"Is that...."
"Yeah, a moonstone" She cut in. "I was holding this when I rejected you. Like I said earlier, it turns out going to the elder was what I really needed. The elder let slip the powers of the moonstone. As long as I was with it, nothing I say or do concerning our wolves would actually work. It serves like some kind of barrier. Luckily for me, the elder happened to have one and I swiped it when I was leaving when I realized this solution"
"So wait...." Kieran shook his head rapidly. "You were with the stone when you came to the house and you didn't actually reject me?" He asked again with a shocked look.
"Yeah. I didn't reject you, I just made Kreed think I did. And we have to keep it that way if we want this peace to continue and everything should go back to as it was" Raven replied
"But things aren't going back that way, are they? You're here kissing me right now Raven. Why didn't you just reject me for real since you're already with my brother and you love him?"
"Because I can't bring myself to reject you Kieran. It feels like a second chance to me. I can't reject you and I can't reject Kreed also. And with our mate bond still there, I'm craving you, having the urge to have you just as much as I'm having it with Kreed" She explained with a more serious expression. "I don't know if it's because of what happened between us, if there's a part of me that still have feelings for you, but I just can't reject you" She stared directly into his eyes. Her baby blue eyes glistening with tears.
Kieran became quiet, it seemed to him like she had just explained everything that he was feeling. He adjusted his grip on her arms and pulled her to himself. He brought a hand up, cupping her face, staring into her yearning eyes. He leaned in and kissed her softly and gently. A kiss she accepted wholeheartedly.
After a few seconds, he broke the kiss and kept on staring at her. "You're gonna be trouble Raven. This isn't good. Things are about to become different" He muttered to her and then resumed kissing her.
