Pushing the door to the empty class open, Kieran and Raven made their way inside hurriedly while still engaged in their passionate kiss. They stopped moving backwards when Raven came in contact with a desk behind her. Kieran immediately picked her up and placed her on the desk. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him in and locking lips with him again.
"Wait wait wait wait..." He broke the kiss, catching his breath.
"What?" Raven asked, staring at him curiously and impatiently. "Is something wrong?"
"No I...." He paused, staring into her eyes. Those baby blue eyes of hers were doing something to him. "I don't think we should do this" He blurted out before he could stop himself.
"What? What do you mean?" Her brows furrowed with confusion.
"Well for one, first time shouldn't be in an empty classroom filled with hard chairs and desks. Secondly and most importantly, you know what happens when a Direwolf does it with a wolf. So....I don't think we should do this. It will disrupt everything" He explained
"Disrupt what?" She questioned with an hurtful gaze, still puzzled.
He leaned in and kissed her lightly on her lips, tilting her head up to him with his finger under her chin. "I'm sorry" He whispered and immediately turned, leaving the class and her behind.
"Kieran!" She called, but he was already gone. She stared in silence at the door, wondering what just happened. She sat there for some minutes, getting her head together before she finally came down from the desk, drawing her skirt down also and straightening her top. She sighed with disappointment and walked out of the classroom, determined to find out what Kieran meant and what was going on with him.
(Present Time)
They both kept staring at each other in silence. It was getting dark already and almost time for Raven to leave for the elder's house. But now she was posed with a question she never thought she'd have to answer. Not knowing what to say, she kept staring at Kieran in silence with him staring back at her and waiting for a response.
"Well? Which is it?" He reiterated, getting impatient with the silence.
"I...I...I don't know Kieran. I don't know why I'm unable to reject you. It shouldn't be this hard" She finally replied. "And you? Why haven't you rejected me?" She threw his question back at him.
"I don't know the reason but I don't want to. I don't want to and that's why I'm giving you the reins. Giving you the power to make the decision. So you're the only one who can determine how this ends. I still don't know why, but part of me wishes you don't reject me also. I have no reason to give 'cause I don't understand this myself, but I'm just letting you know how I'm feeling"
Taken aback by all he just confessed,.Raven stared at him with widened eyes. She now was more confused than before. "Why are you telling me this? Why would you tell me all that? You're making it so much harder to do this" She complained, her eyes welling up and her face housing a sad expression.
"I'm sorry. But I guess it's the dilemma we are in. There's nothing easy about it..." He stopped when a car pulled up in front of the house by the sidewalk.
They both already knew who it was. Raven became scared instantly, scared of what Kreed might think seeing Kieran at her house. She had upset him already by not being able to reject Kieran yet, so she didn't want to upset or hurt him any more than that.
"If it isn't my other half" Kieran sighed, watching Kreed come out from the car.
Making his way over to where they were, Kreed had a quizzical gaze, staring at them and wondering what was going on and why his twin brother was there. He immediately felt his fear and worry return. "Hey" Raven called softly, forcing a smile at him.
"Hey bro" Kieran gave a short wave.
"What's going on here?" Kreed asked, not wasting time and asking the important question.
"I just came to find out how she was doing and if she's ready to reject me yet" Kieran replied with a small smile. He knew the truth wasn't an option. Raven was bad at lying so he knew he had to step in and answer his brother's questions.
Kreed shifted his gaze to Raven. He didn't say a word, but with the look he had, she knew he was asking her and wanting to confirm if it was true. She nodded, confirming Kieran's lies. "Alright then, so??? Have you rejected him?" He questioned with a stern look and tone.
"No....not yet..." She shifted her eyes away from his and to the floor.
"I think I'll be taking my leave now" Kieran announced, turning to leave.
"No! You stay right there. Let's settle this once and for all" Kreed instructed. Kieran gave in and stayed. "Let's end this Raven and take away this burden from all of our shoulders. We both possibly can't be your mates. And we've been together and are still together. Stringing my brother along isn't fare to him. I'm his twin, so I can feel his emotions sometimes just as he can feel mine too, so I can tell this is taking a toll on him. I know it isn't easy for you either, the mate link is a complicated thing. That's why you have to take us out of this misery. So do the obvious" He explained
Raven stared from Kreed to Kieran and continued staring back and forth between them. If only it was that easy as Kreed is making it sound. 'Why do I have to choose?' This thought popped up in her head and the thought immediately scared her. She wondered how she could come up with such outrageous thoughts. "Well?" Kreed's voice snapped her out of her reverie.
She sighed and was about to say something when Isabel came from behind her, carrying her bag. "I'm sorry guys, this will have to be done some other time. It's nighttime already and we need to leave now. It's a full moon tonight and we can't risk Raven shifting before we get to the elder's house. I hope you can understand" She explained, smiling warmly at them. She was like an aunty to Raven, so they knew she'd definitely put Raven's safety first before other things.
Kreed hesitated for a while before giving in. As much as he was upset, he still loved her very much and wouldn't want to see her get hurt because of him. He slowly nodded to Isabel, showing his understanding to the situation.
Kieran nodded as well. "I'm in no mood to chase down an out-of-control wolf tonight" He added
"Thanks for your understanding" Isabel said and then shifted her attention to Raven. "I've helped you pack so let's go now. There's no time" She instructed, coming out the house.
"I'm sorry" Raven said quietly to both boys as she stepped out the house, shutting the door and following Isabel to her car.
The twins watched in silence as their mate got into the car with Isabel and was driven away into the night. Kieran looked up at the sky, the moon was gonna come out soon. "It's going to be a week before we get to see her again" He pointed out.
"Yeah I know. It's looking like a year. This will be the slowest and most uncomfortable week ever" Kreed stated. They kept standing there in silence, each in their own thoughts. Being a night of a full moon, all their emotions were heightened and it was disturbing to them. "Kieran!" He called quietly.
"Yeah..."
He kept quiet for a few seconds before asking his question. "Has anything ever happened between you and Raven? Or is there something happening now?"
Kieran glanced at him on hearing his question. He never had a reason to lie to his twin, until now. He can't possibly tell him the truth. It would make things worse than it already was. "Of course not" He smiled softly.
"I see...." Kreed signed with relief. "We should head home. Mom would be worried. We have a week before we have to face our problems again" He added and started for the car.
"Yeah....right" Kieran muttered to himself before following him to the car also.

Ace had the same reaction as everyone else who had heard about the mate dilemma. His reaction wasn't different and Kreed expected nothing less. He kept explaining to Ace as they walked side by side in the school compound. It was a free period, so all students were moving around doing one thing or the other, making use of their break before the next class. "That is insane" His eyes widened.
"Yeah it is. It's three more days before she returns. I'm hoping as she gets her wolf under control, she gets her emotions under control too and comes back with a clear mind, prepared to do what's necessary" Kreed stated.
"And if she doesn't?" Ace inquired, running his palm over his buzz cut.
He had been focused on the positive side of things that he had hardly thought about the negative part, about what would happen if she ended up not rejecting Kieran. That was something he didn't want to think about. If she doesn't reject him, he knew his twin would do it for him. "She will" He answered.
"But what if...she doesn't?"
"I..." He paused when his eyes fell on the school entrance, the gate.
Ace followed his eyes and he saw it too. A bunch of wolves putting on black cloaks were storming into the school. The students who had acknowledged their presence, stood still, watching them make their way Into the school compound. They would be no less than thirty or forty. They had a mean and determined look as they kept staring at the students with their glowing yellow eyes. Which meant they were Betas. "What the hell is this?" Ace inquired.
"We are under attack" Kreed pointed out. "Go find Kieran quick" He instructed, his eyes still fixed on the intruders.
"Right" Ace said before running off to look for Kieran.
"I guess the peace has become to long for them" Kreed said to no one in particular, standing at alert and getting ready for their attack.
