Chapter 27
Kinsley couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension as she walked into the FBI building. She didn't know what she had to be nervous about. No matter the outcome she was planning to move back to Fort Irwin with Carter.
Carter had tried distracting her this morning and it had worked until now. She glanced over at Carter who was silent beside her as he took in their surroundings. He looked just as nervous as she did.
He caught her looking and gave her a smile that didn't quiet reach his eyes.
He was thinking the same thing she was. Someone wanted her if now her whole team dead and the killer could be in this building waiting for her.
“I'm not leaving your side, remember.”
She remembered, and it did ease a lot of her nerves but she couldn't quite shake them.
