Amorah has been crushed since the death of her mate and is struggling to raise her son and lead their pack on her own.

Matthew comes from a strong Alpha family, born as the 3rd son in his family. Matthew comes from a loving but chaotic family and is tasked with helping his family find and rescue their currently missing Alpha.

Amorah still loves her first mate and wants nothing to do with him but can't stand the thought of losing another mate. Can she withstand him for long? Will Matthew and his family get to their Alpha in time? Will Amorah stand with him in the battle against the enemy? So many questions and only so much time to answer them.

Tragic nights
The thunder clapped and lightening lit up the sky as the clouds threatened to open up and let water pour down. I've always loved storms, but I'm trying to make it to the car before the heavens open above and soak us all. By all of us, I mean my mate and I. Everyone else who has any sense has already taken shelter from the storm, but my dear son has decided that now was the time to make his entrance into this world. My mate tries to pick me up as I double over in pain in the middle of the pack house steps. I shoo him away though, merely grabbing and then nearly crushing his hand as I take deep breaths, trying to breath the pain away. "Are you ok?" he asks, pushing my hair out of my face. I stand up and slowly nod my head as the pain eases before standing on my tippy toes and giving him a kiss. "Let me carry you." he says, as he pulls me up against him. "No way, walking is good for labor and it's still early. I wouldn't be surprised if they have me walking the halls for a few hours before we get to meet our little guy." I smile up at him, knowing he hates when I'm stubborn but also knowing that I'm right. I make it the rest of the way to the car, thankful that I have another minute or so before the next pain hits. Sliding into the passenger seat, I wait until he runs around the car and jumps into the driver seat. We have a pack doctor and hospital on our pack lands but its about a block away from the packhouse. Obviously that's not a far distance and one that I would normally walk without any issues but considering that the sky may decide to let a flood loose at any moment, we decided that it would be best to jump in the car and drive down. "Brandon!" I yell out as another pain hits as he's starting the car. This one is sharper and much more intense. It feels like the pain is stabbing me in the stomach before turning and heading up through my back and spreading across my hips. "Breathe Amorah, you have to breathe. Breathe through the pain, baby." he coos, rubbing his hand up and down my back. That's when I realize I've been holding my breath and try to force it out. "Easier said then done." I moan as the pain slowly lets up. "That was a bad one... I know we said that natural is the best way, but if that's a preview of the rest of this labor, I really might need some drugs" Brandon laughs "I said it was up to you. You want to go natural, but your also the one pushing a watermelon out of your cherry. If you want the drugs, you can have the drugs" I laugh weakly at his phrase of words and wait as he gets out of the car. "Are Marissa and Ben on the way yet?" I ask, as he opens my door and helps me out of the car. Marissa and Ben are the Beta couple and our best friends. "Not yet. I told them that I was pretty sure it was the real thing this time but that I would let them know for sure as soon as you get looked at" he replies, smiling at me. This is our third trip to the hospital in the last two weeks. The first two times we got sent home after the doctor confirmed that the contractions were not real and were simply Braxton hicks. They were painful though and this is my first child. How am I supposed to know? This pain is on an entirely different scale though and I can see why people say that you will know when it's the real thing. If the doctor tries to tell me it isn't, I really might lose my s**t. Brandon helps me out of the car and then opens the back door and grabs my hospital bag as I catch sight of a shadow off to the side.... several shadows. "Brandon...?" I say, grabbing onto his shirt as I hear a growl coming from the side of the pack hospital. It's dark but I can clearly see at least 4 or 5 shadows crouched down around the side of the hospital. The side we have to walk past to make it to the steps. He stands up, throwing the bag back into the car and standing in front of me as 4 wolves come out of the shadows and start bounding towards us. He doesn't wait, shifting immediately. I scream as the flood gates open up and begin to pour down on us, the rain coming in heavy sheets. I send out a pack mindlink, letting everyone know we need help urgently. A pain hits me hard and I crouch over for a minute before standing up and grabbing the wolf closest to me, wrapping my arms around his neck and snapping it quickly. The other 3 wolves jump on Brandon at the same time, with 3 more coming from an area where they had been able to remain unseen. I can't shift but I try to fight as I wait for help to arrive, but one of the wolves grabs my leg, shaking it's head and throwing me a few feet. I roll across the ground, before trying to get up on my knees, looking up just in time to see my mate throw wolves from his back, and trying to stand up on his hind legs. I think I hear our warriors coming but I can't be sure as the rain pounds down around me. I manage to get up, rushing towards one of the wolves as they jump on my mate again, one of them taking their claws and plunging them into Brandon's neck. I scream in anguish as I collapse onto my knees, feeling the pain of the mate bond break as another labor pain rips through me. Our wolves come and join in the fight as I feel Marissa wrap her arms around me. "Nooooo" I yell out, sobbing uncontrollably. "He's gone. He's gone." I can hear the growl of wolves and the clash of teeth next to me but it doesn't concern me in the least as I wrap my arms around my stomach, apologizing to my son as I give in to the darkness threatening to surround me.
