Chapter 24
Campbell Vaughn did not join his two friends in the golf cart when they finished playing the round. Instead, he wandered to a cluster of large trees and watched them drive off, as planned, without looking back. Campbell slipped out of his shoes and golf shirt, then stepped into beige coveralls over his gaudy plaid pants and put on safety boots. He pulled a brown visor low on his forehead, down to his eyebrows. His disguise was complete with a tool belt and a pad of plain paper and a ballpoint pen inserted into a clipboard. Campbell hid his golf clothes and shoes in a vinyl bag, set in the tall grass behind one of the largest trees.
