Brocc explained to the group what happened in Interface.
“Somehow I found my way back here,” he said. “But that place was weird, and it gave me the creeps.”
“We thought for sure that you died,” Celerity said.
“If that happened, you guys would have been completely screwed,” Brocc said.
Celerity punched him on the shoulder.
“Just kidding,” he said.
Kendall high-fived him.
“We kicked the shizzle out of some monsters for you, my man,” Kendall said.
“I bet,” Brocc said. “You guys made it this far. That says all I need to know. Nice work.”
Brocc glanced at Lara Stella. “Never thought I’d see you again.”
Lara Stella smiled. “Likewise.”
“You okay?” he asked.
“I’m fine,” she said. “I’ve been better, but I’m ready to fight.”
“Glad to hear it,” Brocc said, glancing upward.
