MEND MY SOUL #04 Siya :So let's go then. There is a serial killer on the loose, we can't be relaxed. Ntsika:Siya there will be no need for that... Okay no one took advantage of me... I did it willingly. Siya :Really? Ntsika:Yes, I'm sorry. But we are not dating Siya, we are just sleeping together. Siya:Don't sugarcoat it. We are f*****g not sleeping together. I know it's no feelings attached, and trust me I've caught no feelings ; but we promised each other that we would not be involved with other people while our f*****g was still going on. I guess this is goodbye. Ntsika:Siyamthanda you can't say that. Siya:You know I don't bluff. What will I do with you now when you have slept with another person? Is it even still tight? Or it's loose and wide now? Ntsika slapped him but he didn't flinch a bit. Siya's tongue is sharp, he says whatever comes to his mind ;and you can't tell whether he is serious or joking. Ntsika:You will not stand there and insult me. Siya:Slap me again, just do it. I dare you. Ntsika:Just leave! Leave! No wonder your parents don't love you! Who would love the child of the devil!? Siya:If that was meant to hurt me, it didn't work. Where are your parents? Oh I forgot they are six feet under, didn't they die when you were 4 years? Ntsika pushes him out and locks the door. Her parents' death is a fresh wound, it happened years ago but she misses them daily. Meanwhile, Siya gets in his car and drives to another direction. He calls another hook up on the way. . . . Nokuzola:Here, I made you lunch. She gave the lunchbox to her, she looked at her and reluctantly took it. Kukhanya: Thanks. I'm leaving now, see you later. Nokuzola:Have a good day. She nodded and walked away. Zola sighed, at least she took the food. She woke up early to prepare it for her. Nomtha left for work and the kids are at school, as far as she knows she is alone in this house. She has to clean and do house chores, it's the least she can do to thank them for allowing her to stay over. She would be looking for her own place but she has no cent to her name, and going to her father is really not an option. She hates him now more than ever, everything that is happening in her life is his fault. He robbed her of her childhood and the chance to raise Kukhanya. She hates being dependent on people like this. Meanwhile, Lungelo is leaning by the door looking at her. She is not that Nokuzola she was 15 years ago, she looks so different. She used to have an appetizing body, her butt was small but now it's just.... He doesn't even know how to say it. She doesn't look attractive though, he wonders which man would want to be with her again. She even has backrolls, not to forget the big scar on her cheek. They should give her a gun and she will be a straight up gangster. Feeling like there is someone behind her, Nokuzola turned and frowned seeing Lungelo looking at her like that. He clears his throat. Lungelo :Good morning. Nokuzola:Hi, I thought you went to work. Lungelo:It's my day off.. Nokuzola:Okay. I will be out of your way then. She attempted to leave but he held her arm softly. Her breath heightened as his touch awakened buried feelings. She wondered just maybe, if there wasn't any chance that they could get back together. She misses the way he use to look at her back then, his eyes were full of love. Lungelo:Continue cleaning, where are you going? Nokuzola: I was going to give you space to do your thing and come back when you're done. Lungelo:There's no need for that. I just came to get something to eat. Nokuzola:O-kay. She turned back and continued cleaning. Lungelo watched at her as she bent over and knelt the table. He moved and went to stand in front of her. She turned back whistly still kneeling and was met by his bulge. She cleared her throat. Nokuzola:Can I pass? Lungelo held her head and pressed it against his crotch. He groaned softly, his boner clearly visible. Nokuzola:*moving her head back*What are you doing? Lungelo :Don't act like you don't want this. Nokuzola:What are you talking about? Lungelo:I've seen the way you look at me. Nokuzola:Get off that high horse Lungelo, I don't want to do anything with you. I would be stooping so low if I sneak around with you. He laughed in a sarcastic manner and folded his arms, looking down at her. Lungelo:What makes you think I would want to sneak around with you too? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Whoever will be involved with you, will be really crazy and deranged. You are ugly now Zola, I mean look at you. You used to have a perfect body but now you look like a camel stuffed together with a kangaroo. You used to be light skinned, I don't know what made you dark like this because in prison you're not allowed out. Why are you even wearing this short jean because you are showing your lizard skin? I mean what is this!? You look disgusting man! Zola stood up in a speed and quickly grabbed the knife. She placed it against his neck and pushed him to the wall. Lungelo:Do it.... Being a killer runs in your blood... Zola removed the knife from him and ran out of the kitchen. Lungelo breathed heavily and placed the knife on its place. He called his wife. Nomtha:Babe. Lungelo:Your friends need to leave my house. Both of them! . . . SIYAMTHANDA Staying alone can be really tough sometimes, with no one to talk to and do anything with. He is lonely, he knows it. If only he had a girlfriend, maybe she would take him out of his misery. Kukhanya, now her. She's got the qualities to be his next best f**k. Ntsika broke the rules and he is over her. She looks innocent and he saw the way she looked at him, so pursuing her won't be hard. He has a business dinner tomorrow, he will ask her to accompany her. He is disturbed by his phone ringing. Sikho's mother , he sighs and gathers the strength to talk to her. Siya:Yeah? Boni:Iheee senawaphendula kanje amafoni we Siyamthanda? (Is this how you answer your phone now?) Siya:Ngingakusiza ngani Bonisile? (How can I help you Bonisile?) Boni:Usuze ungigagula ngegama! (You are calling me by my name!) Siya:*Out of patience* I will hang up. Boni:Please don't hang up.... I need your help with something. Siya:What is it this time? Boni:Your brother is in trouble again. Some people came here and took him, accusing him of stealing from them. Siya:When did Sikho even arrive at Bergville? He texted me saying he came back, so he went back again? Boni:Ufike izolo ebsuku, akuphelanga skhathi esingakanani bafika futhi labantu bamthatha. Basikhiphela nezibhamu, awuze ndodana uzomsiza. (He arrived last night, shortly these people arrived and took him. They drew their guns at us, please come son and help him). Siya :Fine. I hope this was the last time you were calling me Bonisile. He hung up. He went to his bedroom and packed a few clothes. He sent a text to Kukhanya, informing her that she will be accompanying him tomorrow night to the business dinner. He took a quick shower and grabbed his bag with his car keys heading out. He locked all doors and went to his car driving off. It will take probably 3 hours maximum to get to Bergville. He played some soft music while driving all by himself. . . . Lindo has been calling Kukhanya like crazy today. She wonders what could be the problem, did he do anything wrong? He calls her again and luckily she answers this time. Kukhanya :Hello. Lindo:babe hi, I have been calling you all day. Kukhanya :I'm sorry, it was on silent. I'm held up at work, there is too much work to do. Lindo:But you could have spared at least a minute to let me know. I have been calling like a crazy man. Kukhanya :Unlike you Lindo, we don't have parents who are multi millionaires . We don't have parents who built companies for us when we were young. You are 23 but you are your own boss already, you don't have to worry about a thing. I have to work hard for everything, if I mess up this internship it could be the literal end of my career. So excuse me for not calling you to tell you that I'm at work. Lindo:*Low voice* I'm sorry, I understand babe that you are at work. I was just so worried when you didn't answer my calls. Kukhanya:It's fine. I will call you later. Lindo:Okay... I love you.. Kukhanya:I... I love you too.. She hung up. Lonwabo:Ayyy ku tough kwa love! (Relationships are tough) Lindo:You i***t! You were eavesdropping! Lonwabo:I wasn't. Your call volume is too high. You should lower it. Anyway are you having troubles with your "sweet mamacita"? Lindo:Ever since her mother came back, we haven't been on a good mood. I don't know, but I feel like she's detaching from me slowly. I love that girl Lonwabo, I wish to make her my wife some day. Lonwabo:Maybe it's work that really has her like this. Why don't you fetch her tonight? Take her out or something. She is stressed. Lindo:I will. Anyway what brings you here? Lonwabo :Things are tense at home. Our big sister is back from prison , remember that one that I told you about? Lindo:Who? Ayanda? The one who tried to kill Khetho with a pillow? Lonwabo:Yes her. She finished her sentence and now she's back. Lindo:Do you think she's changed though? Lonwabo:I don't know, but I don't trust her. If mom didn't find her on time, Khetho would be laying in a grave somewhere. Lindo sighed rubbing his eyes. Lindo:Adopted people have serious issues! And it's not like all of them are abused. They are given the best love ever and when they've made it in life they start to give you attitude, and leave to find "their real family". I don't see myself adopting someone. Lonwabo:Maybe Rondo is better. Ayanda legit seduced my dad and slept with him, and wanted to kill Khetho so that she can be with him. Lindo:This is all too crazy. . . . Siya arrives at Sikho's parents place. He gathers his strength and walks inside the yard. It's still the same as he rememberss it, no change. He has all the money to build them a house, but nah f**k them; they don't deserve it. Sikho's father was sitting by the tree reading a newspaper. ... ........ Little Siya runs to the house leaving his father by the tree. He calls him back and he hurries to him. Khaya:Your mother is still busy inside. Wait here. Siya:Baba kodwa ngilambile(But dad I am hungry). Khaya:Ngithe ima la, unyoko usasebhizi endlini. (I said wait here, your mother is still busy inside). He folded his arms and ran inside nonetheless. He found his older brother, Sikho eating Pizza with a cold drink by his side. Boni noticed him and chased him out, giving him a little clap. Boni:Your father told you to wait outside. Awuzwa wena! (You don't listen!) .. ...... "Aw Ndodana, sewufikile. (Son you have arrived)." He snapped him back to reality. He ignored him and went inside, Khaya followed him. Siya:I am here. Tell me what happened. Boni:You don't even greet us? Siya:I will leave. Khaya:Please don't leave. Your brother is still not back. Siya:Did you recognize the people who took him? Boni:We didn't. We were too shocked. Khaya:But I saw the number plate of the car they were driving. Siya:Great. What is it? He told him the number plate and he stood up. Boni:Where are you going? Siya:To get your son, you called me for that remember? . . . Kukhanya was the last one to leave the building, she wanted to finish her work in time. She can't afford to be on Mr Nyathi's bad books. She received a message from him that she will be accompanying him tomorrow for a business dinner. She is excited for it, she will learn a lot. She packs up her bags and go outside. She reach for her phone to request a ride but her battery is flat. She sighs feeling out of options. There is a serial killer doing the work around, it's not safe for her to be alone like this and it's already dark. She bites her lip as she regrets why she remained behind when her co-workers knocked off. The taxi rank is also far, she could be mugged on the way. She clutches her handbag close to her body when she sees a car approaching. Her heartbeat starts rising thinking it's the serial killer. She heard he/she usually strikes at night. She relaxes when she noticed that it was Lindo's car. She didn't waste any time and jumped in. Lindo :Whoa. What's chasing you? Kukhanya :Just drive. He drove and she kept looking back. Lindo:Are you okay? Kukhanya :Now that you are here, I'm okay. I was the only one left and my battery is dead, I had no means of getting home. Thank you for coming. Lindo:It's okay, I wanted to fetch you maybe we can grab a bite somewhere. Kukhanya :Can't we make it to be tomorrow? I'm really tired today.. Lindo:Kukhanya are we okay? Kukhanya:What do you mean? Lindo:You have been avoiding me all week, and today you totally burst out on me and kind of insulted me. Kukhanya :I insulted you? By saying that you don't have to work for anything? Was I lying? Lindo:I kind of feel like you are blaming me that my parents are rich and did every thing to secure my future, not that I'm saying yours didn't. Kukhanya:What are you saying exactly? Lindo:I'm saying, you didn't have a problem before with my economic status and I never used it against you. I have always supported you in your career, heck I even helped you prepare for your interview. I know how much it means to you, it really hurt me when you spoke like that today. Kukhanya:I don't know what you want me to say Lindo. As far as I'm concerned, I was stating facts. Look at the car you're even driving right now, your parents bought it for you as a gift. I don't have a car, I will buy it with my first salary. You don't know how tough the world is for some of us. Just because your family paid for my surgery to straighten my arm doesn't mean you should feel the need to control me. Lindo looked at her in disbelief, wondering when he wanted to control her. Lindo:*Chuckling* Let's leave it because you are convinced by what you are saying..
