CHAPTER THIRTY

1093 Words
"Thank you for helping me out with my sister, K won't have known what to do." He smiled, he is currently walking me home. "No worries, she is also a friend." I stopped in-front of my house. "No really, thanks." He looks me right in the eyes for a second I saw how fragile he is. "Anytime." I gave a friendly smile. "See you tomorrow." "You too." I don't know if I should give him a friendly hug, we both just stood there not knowing what to do. I noticed he wanted to say something but he stopped him self. "Bye." He simply said. "Bye." And with that he walks away leaving me wonder what he was going to say. ——- I walked into my sitting room only to see my mum nursing a glass of wine. "You have been spending a lot of time with that new kid, Nate might get mad." This is the first time in days my mum is talking to me and guess what it is about her lovely Nate. Bite me. "I guess it's our problem you shouldn't meddle." I am surprised at my confidence talking to my mom like that, I never thought I could so such a thing. "He is a bad influence look at the way you are talking to your mom." I scoffed at that statement did she just call herself my mom. How pathetic. "You have not been a mum to me in a long time, so don't start with that." I warned, adrenaline pumping through my veins, I am so ready to for her to say something that would piss me off. But surprisingly my talkative mother didn't utter a word, so I took that as an indication that I should love and I was more than happy to do so. Just as I was about to leave I heard my mum's voice. "You like him." She paused and I froze at her statement. "This guy, I can see it." I turned to my mum looking her right in the eyes, I don't know what entered me but I felt the urge to talk to her about my feelings for Bryce and how I can't explain it but give it up to my mother to ruin things with her next statement. "Use your head not your heart baby, have you met his mum a total train wreck, just a couple drinks and she started babbling, with the way she's going they are about to be broke plus she has no place in elites society." Seriously? Why am I not surprised. All I could do was curse myself for wanting to have a mother and daughter conversation. "And you do?" I mocked, she really really thinks she has a place in the elite society. "Of course." She is unbelievable, "Maybe as the town's prostitute" I retorted. "I won't let your emotions ruin what we have going on." What the f**k do we have going on?. "What we have is this house which is going to be gone when I break up with your dear little Nate and you have is the fire under your skirt which leads to random girls pouring coffee at me in the hallway." I couldn't help but raise my voice. I am so f*****g pissed. "Samantha, her dad is handling it." So coffee girl's name is Samantha. "How about you stop screwing her dad." I yelled. "I am your mother and you will talk to me with respect." Another scoff for another ridicule statement. "Well act like one." I glared. "I know you hate me but all I want is what's best for you." Is she serious right now? What's best for me? "And you think Nate is best for me?" How ridiculous. "Yes, your bag is secured forever baby girl." All she thinks about is money. "I don't care about that, when he gets mad, he hurts me and you see it for your self." "He is not a bad kid Mel, he just needs help." "I know but I am not the help he need." At this moment I am tired of faking it with Nate even though he is changing. "We are going to lose the one thing your father left us, if you break up with him." That what she has been holding over me for years and I am sick and tired. "I am sure if you have kept the money given by your male clients we would have paid Nate's parent back. "Some months, give me some months to gather the money and if you want to leave Nate then, you can." Is she for real, she is letting break up with her golden boy. "Okay." I looked at her skeptically before walking upstairs. ——- BRYCE'S POINT OF VIEW "Son where's Brooklyn, I saw her text, my little girl as became a young woman." I turned to see my mum, who's just coming in after Brooklyn texted her all day long. I wonder why Brooklyn even tries. "She's upstairs and she won't be needing you." I don't want her near my sister while she's obviously drunk. "She's my daug.." I interrupts my mum immediately. "She texted you to pick her up but I can guess where you were, stalking dad so don't give me the motherly crap because you haven't been there for her for a very long time." I yelled. "So please don't go to her room drunk like this, don't make her loose the the little respect she has for you." "I am trying to get our family back together." The same words she has been saying since dad left us. "Can't you see yourself mother, can't you see that you are pushing Brooklyn and I away?" I am so frustrated. "I am helping you guys, your dad meet up with is lawyers, he is probably trying to change his will and give some it to his bastard children." I can't believe this, she is actually stalking him. "I don't care about his money and if you truly love is mum, you'd stop pursuing this, let him be." I know all my words would be futile and with her next words I was proven right. " I can't, I worked so hard for everything he has right now, I won't let him give it to some b***h and her bastard children." Why do I even keep on doing this, it's not like she will ever listen. "You made your choice mum." I walked away. I am just so f*****g tired.
