Chapter 3 - Dead but still Alive

Andromeda Clansky was a Normal Girl. The year was 2020 and the world was facing the Covid crisis. As a pharmaceutical Scientist her struggle was to Develop a Vaccine for this disease and Create a cure as soon as possible. Un-luckily she has caught the virus as well. It was 7th or 8th day she was in isolation and she was panicking. She couldn't breathe without help and she couldn't taste anything. All her love for the food was pointless now. She also couldn't smell anything so that was a good thing seeing as her room smelled like Medicine and Alcohol.

"What's even the point" she shrugged and chugged a cup of black coffee in a breath. She got up and got out of her nightgown and into her freshly washed black t-shirt and black PJ's that had pink hedgehogs printed on them. This was the most favourite and most comfortable piece of clothing she owned. That's when she noticed her reflection in the mirror. She looked so pale for her usual Dusky complexion and the dark circles under her eyes were worse than the time she used to work more than 65 hours a week. And her black dense curly hair that once used to be cute were a mess. She was so irritated at this she quickly ran to the bathroom to have a hot bath.

She started the tap and the tub was filled in no time so she turned and tried reach for the cabinet for her shower jel but the floor was slippery and she slipped and hit her head on the shower curtain's rod and fell into the bathtub. She was passing out and her whole life flashed before her eyes. She knew she'll be at the gates of heaven or hell when she opened her eyes next. What she didn't expect was choking on water. when she opened her eyes a woman was pushing on her stomach with fingers and it felt weird Because Andromeda knew the woman was pushing on her stomach she could feel it but she could still see the hands so close to her throat which was surprising. Then Andromeda tried to lift her hand and saw what was supposed to be her hand was looking like a newborn's hand but it was b****y as if it was just born.....

It hit her she was just born into her next life. Questions started circling her head like Wind circles a cyclone. How could this be that she remembered dying but she was still alive? How does she know what's happening? where is she? why is there no light here? why are only candles? Then she saw the woman who had possibly delivered her run away horrified. Andromeda couldn't make any sense of that. She Also was unable to move her head by herself. She felt trapped.

She kept thinking about her past life. What actually happened?Who would've found her body? etc. She thought about what's Going to happen next in this life. And why does she remembers about her past life. She was thinking about how she can't do anything right now that would change anything so she would just have to go along with it and accept whatever happens next. She was thinking what would she do when she grows up and how many years is that going to take. Then she heard footsteps. A woman in Brown long robe like dress had entered the room.

The woman came inside and as soon as she laid her eyes on the woman laying on the wooden bed she screamed and started sobbing loudly. This was first time since the birth Andromeda had noticed someone laying down on the wooden bed. The woman who just came in started kneeling right next to the woman and started crying.

"I am so sorry Aditi.....I am so sorry....I am sorry i wasn't here......" Then she noticed Andromeda and Started packing things up. It must have taken her not more than 20 to 25 minutes to pack up all things and then after she was finished loading stuff in her cart she came and picked up baby Andromeda.

The woman started talking to Andromeda in a silly baby Voice as the baby was crying. "it's okay baby. It's okay don't care.....hey babiee.... Don't worry your Godmother is here now. Don't worry baby.... you're going to call me auntie Claire aren't you.... it's okay. it's okay.....shh....shh.....shh...." Then Claire took the baby and put her in a cot inside the cart and shut the door and started on the cart. Andromeda Could hear the Horse's hoofs. The sun had just risen. Although Andromeda couldn't hear anything But she started Imagining things with the sounds she heard. They were passing Birds on trees, Rocky roads, A stream or a river, more animals etc. As the journey progressed little Andromeda drifted into sleep without even realising it.

When she woke up Claire was moving Andromeda into a house in the woods and it looked it was evening already. Andromeda was amused at this because what she remembered from her past life she had never felt so well rested Before But of course this was before she was born in this body in this time. After a while Claire was cradling Andromeda in her arms and holding a book and then Claire started speaking to her

"Hey dearest.....I know you miss mom. I miss Aditi too......But do you know what we're gonna do what she told us to. Agrona your Godmother is going to be the best Godmother one can have. that's right. I called you Agrona. Aditi named you before you were born she wrote that in her journal." Claire said holding up a leather bound journal.

Andromeda figured there was more in that journal, but since she was just a new born baby and was unable to talk she just decided to go along with it. Now all Andromeda had to do was Do whatever Claire told her to and be as unproblematic as she could be. It was tough, of course But she had to do it. From now on Her name was Agrona.
