"Love is such an amazing thing on earth. When love comes your way, it is always worth the fight."
"Good morning Mr. Ross," Alyssa greeted him as she approached the hotel manager at the reception area.
"Hi Ms. Park!" He was smiling warmly to her as he reached for her hand for a friendly shake.
"I came here to get the job contract so I can review the full details" Alyssa was a bit tensed. She was rubbing her forehead to wipe her sweat beads and stretching her neck from side to side to release the stress in her nerves.
She had a terrible night, she stayed up so late and when she buried herself in her be- though her eyes were so tired and sleepy because of the effect of the tequila in her body she wasn't able to sleep - her mind was wandering around, constant thoughts were bugging her so come morning she felt her head was a bit heavy and her eyes were sensitive to light.
"Are you okay MS?" Mr. Ross asked her with a concern tone as he handed her the documents that he pulled out from an auburn drawer.
"Oh yes I'm fine! Thanks for asking ", she opened her bag and keep the papers inside of it.
"I just had a sleepless night." She muttered and turned her head to find a place where she can sit and review the documents.
"Why don't you have a cup of coffee first while studying the contract" he suggested while sorting out the papers in front of him.
"Here! Take this!" and he handed her the complimentary food voucher. "Enjoy your meal, it's on us." He smiled at Alyssa and pointed his finger at the Banquet table inside the hotel restaurant.
"Oh! So nice of you. Thanks for this Mr. Ross. Appreciate!" Then she was excited to have a hot coffee to wake her mind up.
Inside the Hotel's restaurant, dining tables were almost occupied, and there were only few seats left. She decide to take the seat at the corner area, and as she walked towards the table she wanted to occupy...She accidentally bumped into someone who came rushing to have the same spot.
"Oh! I'm sorry." The man apologized as he glanced at her.
"Zack!" Alyssa exclaimed and her eyes widen like a doll.
"You can take the seat, I'll look for another one," Zack said as he lifted his food tray and look around the area for a vacant table.
Unfortunately, all seats have been occupied by the guest for an early breakfast.
"Take a seat, you can join me!" Alyssa sweetly shared the table with Zack.
"Thanks!" he said after putting a warm grin on his lips.
There were silence between as they eat breakfast. With their heads down, minding their own business.
Alyssa's phone rang
It was placed on the table at her right side when she picked it up and answered the call.
Zack had a glimpse on the name on the screen. He took out his phone and checked his email as he was eavesdropping without her knowledge.
"Marcus!" her voice was undertone, keeping it as low as possible so she would not draw attention.
"I told you already my reason. I am not making up any excuses so please!"
Alyssa started to raise her voice as she became irritated.
"Do I look like running away? Damn! I am working. Don't be paranoid." her eyes were pinned on the wall next to her trying to avoid his stare.
He realized that staring at her was rude but he couldn't help but looked at her, as she spoke in a disgusting tone, he was worried about her.
Alyssa rolled her Hazel brown eyes at him as she spotted him staring at her.
Zack felt ashamed of his self for being nosy, so he looked down on his mobile again with open ears.
Alyssa smirked
"I'll see you at the airport on Monday at 11am. Bye!" She dropped the call followed by a deep sighed for relief. She turned herself at Zack who was finishing his food. She knew that he was eavesdropping but it doesn't matter to her.
Alyssa took a few moments looking at him. She was smiling while she shrugged her shoulder in front of him.
"Why?" Zack noticed her constant glancing.
"Would you like to show me around after i finish my work?" She broke the silence in a way Zack was flabbergasted. Lips parted and speechless.
Alyssa laughed out loud as she held his chin up to close his open lips and Zack realized that he has an awful look in front of the woman she likes to have a date with.
He wasn't expecting that she would asked him to do something for her - after what happened last night, he thought that everything was already ruined.
Surprisingly, this girl who was sitting in front of him gave her a chance.
"Perhaps the universe grants his yearning, as he wish upon the sky."
Meet me at 6 pm at the beach front". She grabbed her bag and left the table with a sweet smile to leave for him.
Zack was still in shock. He whistled to pull his self together, and a sigh of relief was shown on his face instantly.
He took all of his stuffs on the table and hurriedly returned to his room to finish all his work errands.
For the time being, he was so excited that he couldn't concentrate at his work.
"Mr. Murphy, is everything okay? Cindy asked her while she was reporting thru a video call.
Zack was out of his mind. He doesn't understand what Cindy was telling him about company report.
All he could ever think of was Alyssa Park. Their date at the oceanfront. His time alone with her.
He asked his self "What could be the best set up to make this night memorable." He hissed while tapping his head with his pen, hoping that he could pull out some good idea out of his head.
And he just did...He suddenly got off his chair and called his secretary.
"Cindy, I need you to do something for me". He smiled at Cindy and began talking about his idea.
It is 10 minutes before 5 pm. Just in time, Alyssa has finished her painting.
This time she painted the wall with a lake view. A very peaceful blue lake surrounded by green high trees and waterfalls.
"I wish my life will be as peaceful as this scene". She murmured as she picked up her paint brushes on the floor.
"Oopss! Got to get ready." She ran quickly to her room.
"Hello!" she answered her phone right away, when Zack called her.
"Will you be ready before 6 pm?" he asked in a curious tone.
"Ha ha ha! Why do you sound so excited huh?" She teased him with her laugh as she towel her hair dry.
"Uh..." Zack was so shy to state his reason. He cleared his throat.
"Come on, spill it out!" She said with an encouraging voice. She placed the call on speaker, allowing herself to get dress while on a call.
"There is something I want to show you before 6 pm."
Looking outside his bedroom window. The view was so beautiful, perfectly fine for a date venue. He thought at the back of his mind.
"All right then! I'll see at 5:45, Bye!"
She took out her white lace maxi dress and wore it with a slip on sandals. Her body curve was perfect for the bohemian outfit she chose.
Her lips were red and her cheeks were blushed. Her natural curled lashes make her eyes more attractive.
She gathered her hair at one side and left her bangs alone as she wore big hoop earrings.
She was all set for the meet up.
"Hey, I'm waiting for you outside the hotel". Zack said as he called Aly's number to inform her that he was already down at the lobby, after a couple of minutes had passed.
"I can see you!" Alyssa suddenly appeared in front of Zack who was talking on the phone.
"OH! You are here." Sounding surprised as he saw her beautiful angel face. The white dress was beautiful on her, it is as pure as her heart.
"Those flowers for me?" She asked with an excited tone as soon as she saw the flowers Zack was holding. He was mesmerized with her beauty so he almost forgot that he bought flowers for her.
"Yeah, I'm sorry! I almost forgot. These flowers are for you. I hope you like them".
"They are beautiful" Her mind was at ease as she smelled those flowers. She looked at his face and found herself falling for his warm smile once again.
"Let's not waste any time!" immediately Zack grabbed her hand and pulled her to run on the beachfront.
When they were close enough to the beach area, Zack stopped and pulled out a white handkerchief in his trouser, and asked for permission to cover her eyes.
She was blindfolded.
"Zack, what is this for?" she whispered. She was feeling nervous but excited at the same. She felt her hands getting cold, but something inside her was expecting something from him and she can't wait for that whatever it is.
"Relax, I got you baby!" he held her hand and their fingers entangled sweetly.
"Let's go!" and he guided her to the shore. After a couple of steps, for about 10 meters away from where they stood before, Zack asked Aly to stop and to remove her scandals and she didn't hesitate to do what he asked her.
So she removed her sandals and took a few more steps when she felt the cold water on her feet and she flinched when the coldness of the water came to her senses.
"We are here" he whispered in her ear and her heart was drumming because of excitement.
"Are you ready baby?" She heard Zack's voice from her front but she could sense that he was pretty close to her, that's why she can smell the refreshing mint scent under her own breath.
Then she imagined his face was like an inch away from hers, and he was staring at her lips - then she chuckled. Zack was surprised to hear her giggled out of nothing.
"Hey! What's running in your head young lady?" curiously he asked and she just gave him a warm grin when she could hear footsteps going behind her.
It was Zack who was gently untying the knot and the moment the hanky was removed, Zack told him to slowly open her eyes.
Her vision was blurry the moment her eyes were opened, but though it was not clear, she could already see the beauty painted right before her eyes.
She was fascinated with the brilliantly red and orange hues of the setting sun that almost took her breath away as she felt its calmness while kissing the ocean. It was beautiful.
"Zack" she mumbled his name and the wind took it to his direction and his heart grasped her sweet voice.
"You like it?” He asked while looking at her being mesmerized with the gorgeous sunset. She just nodded her head and plastered a warm smile to tell him how happy she was to experience the unfailing beauty of God's creation.
Both of them were speechless for a moment.
"So this is what you wanted me to see?" She uttered before the Sun finally said goodbye to them, and Zack replied with his dashing eyes.
"You are so cute! Alyssa exclaimed and began chuckling in front of him that made his face blushed.
"Are you happy?” He asked and she didn't think twice with her response to him.
She turned her head and nodded when suddenly Zack asked her to slowly turn herself around so she could see what exactly he has done for their 1st date.
Her eyes widen as she turned herself to see what lies behind her. The one that she failed to notice a while ago because of the admiration she has for the sunset.
Alyssa looked around her with appreciation in her eyes. She couldn't be happier with all the effort he exerted just to have a fabulous date with her.
The place was so romantic. Dinner table was step up under the wood arch with white curtains, vines, flowers and fairy lights.
Everything around them sparkles as the Torches were lit in the area.
The scented candles on the centerpiece calm their souls as the soft music started to play in the background.
And when the place turned dark, the face of the moon shined upon them.
Happiness filled her entire being, when she felt the calmness of her soul around his presence.
The feeling was so great, she dare not to spoil it with her dramatic thoughts over her personal issues.
Zack held her hands.
"May we have a slow dance princess?" He sweetly placed her hands on his shoulders and his hands on her waist.
In slow motion, they dance the night away. Eyes were tucked in each other's eyes. Lips were filled with smile and laughter.
Underneath the midnight sky, their hearts unite in this feeling called Love.
