It was spring season when she first met her Knight at Skaneateles.
The stars were bright, it lit the entire universe.
But as the moon hung onto the sky, its face wasn't looking underneath and it doesn't shine upon the creature who was hungry for protection.
The whole place was all quiet and no one knows what was lurking in the darkness.
A brief silence terrifies ones soul.
Alyssa was walking herself home after attending an acquaintance party in her school not so far away from her place.
She was wearing a pink midi ballroom gown, hand stitched by her mother.
Her hair was braided and it was clipped with a flower hairpin.
She was only a sophomore high school student yet her body form was already shaped up like a young woman. Perfect curve and body posture makes her looked gorgeous.
She was humming and whistling and hopping around on the pavement when she heard a creepy sound behind her.
She stopped to turn her back around and to see who was behind her.
But she was alone all by herself. No one was there.
So she continued to walk, but this time she walked a little fast and tried to be quiet as possible.
She heard crackling sound behind her. It was a crunching sound made by walking on leaves.
Someone or something was behind her, she thought.
She braced herself as she turned her back again to see who was following her.
Just like the first time. No one was there.
Her heart was beating fast as she continue to walk.
Her throat became dry so she had to clear it out. She smelled danger in the darkness.
When she realized that something was not right, she started running - and as she ran she heard footsteps behind her following her around.
She ran as fast as she could, she was breathing heavily when silence came to her senses. She realized that the footsteps were gone.
Her heart skipped a beat, her body was shaking and she can feel her knees were about to fall.
She closed her eyes and pulled herself together to gain the courage she needed.
She deeply inhaled and turned herself around. It was just her all along running.
She sighed for relieved as her shoulders dropped. She tried to calm herself down when she started having goosebumps.
She felt something was there behind her and just waiting for the right moment to snatch her away.
She held unto her fist and clenched it.
In her mind, she counted from one to three before turning her back to face her fear.
As she peeked, a shadow of a man came before her eyes.
Her eyes were shocked, it widens. She couldn't see his face for it was hiding underneath the bucket hat he was wearing.
She was extremely terrified and her feet were nailed on the ground that she couldn't make a move.
Her eyes were seeking for help as her tears started to burst upon seeing his lips formed a wicked smile on her.
Just as she was about to scream for help, it was too late for her to break the silence...
Her nose and mouth was quickly covered by a piece of white cloth doused in chloroform.
When she recognized the smell of the anesthetic, she struggled to remove the cloth on her nose but the man put too much pressure on his hand that she can't take it off.
She tried not to inhale but the smell was hardly strong that doze her little by little.
When she was about to faint and lose herself, she saw a shadow of a man running towards them and hit the bad guy on his side with a baseball bat.
The man dropped Aly on the ground as his body curled in pain. Aly was still conscious thou she felt a bit dizzy, she was still aware of her surroundings.
She overheard the villain's voice cursing the boy who just saved her from being kidn*pped.
The bad guy stood up and took the knife out of his jacket and slashed the air with its sharpness.
The young man managed to avoid being stabbed and as the bad guy threw another hit, the young man caught his hand in the air and twisted his wrist until the man was able to drop down the knife he was holding.
The young man threw several punches on his enemy's face and was able to knock him down.
His face was bleeding but the young man seemed to be discontented so he held a rock in his hand and about to hit him on his face when Alyssa grabbed his waist and wrapped her arms around him from behind.
"Please stop!" he heard her voice for the first time.
His hands were stuck in the air holding the rock still. Alyssa was shaking but she managed to pull herself together to save the man from being a murdered because of saving her.
The young man threw the rock that was under his grip.
He held Aly's hands on his waist and asked her with a husky voice. He was panting "Are you hurt?"
She shook her head, "Thanks for saving my life "she whispered softly while removing her arms around him.
"Let's go to the police station" the man quickly suggested as he turned around and saw the lady's face in terror.
"I am okay "she folded her arms and brace herself for a while, trying to relax.
"Will you just walk me home? I am very tired and I want to rest. "
The young man nodded.
" I'm Marcus. "his warm voice was so appealing.
"Take my hand." He said.
"Alyssa, that's my name" she smiled and held unto Marcus.
"Do you live nearby?" she wanted to know the guy who risked his life for her.
Just before the young man could say a word, he collapsed.
The bad guy has awaken, and he stabbed his side with his knife.
The young man tried to get up with all his left strength but the villain stabbed him on his shoulder this time.
He fell on the ground as Alyssa screamed for help, blood was all over his body.
Luckily the village patrol came passing by and helped them.
The villain ran away in the darkness and the village patrol called an ambulance before they followed the man who just vanished.
Aly ripped a piece of cloth on her dress to suppress the bleeding on his stabbed wounds and held him up in her arms.
She was crying. Must have been so scared and worried at the same time.
"She was begging for mercy. God, please!"
She was helplessly crying "Stay with me! Hold on Marcus!"
He lifted his hand and touched Aly's face. "Stop crying, I am okay." He whispered.
"I feel no pain, my body is all numb", and just after saying these words Marcus lost his consciousness.
"Marcus! Marcus!" she repeatedly called out his name.
"You get to appreciate the light when you experienced the fear and horror that lurks in the darkness."

-Marcus-
When I realized that she was in danger, I didn't think twice. In my mind, I was so sure that I want to risk my own life just to save her. Literally I want to protect her - and the moment I felt my blood rushed, my feet started to walk as fast as I could to rescue and safeguard her.
As i battle to keep her away from harm...
I saw fear within her hazel orbs, and I pity her so much. I wanted to hug her and let her feel the warmth of my embrace so she won't need to be afraid anymore.
Underneath the universe, two souls entangled. And since then, the Stars were rooting for them.
His eyes were closed but the pungent smell of the antiseptic came all over him as he was lying on the hospital bed, under his scrub suit were hideous marks hidden beneath the bandages that were wrapped around his stabbed- wounded body.
Marks that will never be gone- no matter how many years would pass by.
He groaned in pain as he moved a bit...his fingers were curling as he jolted his body to release the tension behind his back, and a shadow of a young pretty girl appeared right before his blurry vision as Marcus woke up.
The bright rays of the Sun illuminates through the glass window and hit his handsome face. It glistened brightly.
Then he heard her asked...
"Are you in pain? A soft voice lingered and he felt okay upon hearing her soft sweet tone.
He shook his head and plastered a grin on his lips as he took her hand and utter.
"I'll be fine, seeing you right here beside me makes me feel okay, don't worry." And she sighed out of relief.
Her eyes sparkled and that made her so beautiful.
"I won't leave by your side Marcus. I promise!"
And he held unto that promise that she made.
