Chapter 8

New discoveries

When Maya and Rylynn turned to walk out of the elevator, they saw Renlee and Grayson in the hallway intertwined and half clothed. Maya coughs, and they separated from one another, looking purely guilty. Maya felt some form of relief knowing she wasn’t the only one who had feelings for a teammate but wondered how this would affect their families or whether it could work out. However, she remembered the meeting that she attended with the other four captains. The bonding ceremony, they were not told much about it but that it would change their futures and if it went as they were hoping, it would change the lives of millions of people around the world. Grayson stared at his captain, trying to form the right words, but Maya just walked past him into her hotel room, leaving the other three out there.

Ry’s visit to Maya

Maya woke to a knock on her door, when she opened it, Rylynn was standing in her tight small pajamas, which made Maya suck in her breath. Maya wore only a sports bra and jogging pants to bed. Maya backed away from the door as Ry walked in and closed the door. She began walking towards Maya after locking it and just looked at her. Maya caressed Ry’s face and smashed her lips against hers in a heated passion. Maya picked up Rylynn and walked her over to the bed and laid her down while still kissing her. Suddenly, they stopped. Maya informed Ry that she wouldn’t do anything until after the bonding ceremony because she knew it had something to do with all of them, but those in charge asked them not to sleep with anyone else but their spouses. Ry looked into Maya’s eyes and asked if they could sleep in bed together and, of course, she wouldn’t tell Ry no. They got fully into bed together and Maya pulled Ry closer to her and they fell asleep together.

The week was over, and they all headed home, things had already changed for some of them, but they did not know how to handle the situation. The love, the feelings were all there. Well, the love that Maya had for Rylynn and the love that Grayson had for Renlee. They were all secretly dreading the bonding ceremony once they had full teams, but they were getting close to that. Maya and the other captains were given one year to ensure they had full teams. They had eight months left to go. The uncertainty was there but the determination was stronger. Jay knew what had happened because Maya told him, but what she didn’t know was that Jay and Kane were secretly hoping they would because the guys grew close, not sexually close but close enough that they could have a relationship with the women. There is so much that is happening and changing that the future is cloudy ahead. Will they make it to the bonding ceremony? Or will they give into their desires before then?
