Does it matter Who am I?
"Get up Violet!" Mia kicked her room-mate, "get your lazy ass out of the bed now or I swear I'll bathe you in ice water. it's been an hour, Violet Moore was hiding curled up inside her comforter with a puffy eyes, pretending to sleep. "go away Mia" she groaned, "I deserve a day of sulking in silence" Mia rolled her eyes. It was third time this month, Violet was hiding in the room. Her excuse? Her mother has set up another blind date with a potential groom for her to meet and say yes to marriage- 3rd time this month! "you don't have sulk. you have to get up and get to work now. sulking won't help you make money!" "I'm busy today thinking of a way out of this date" "did you find one yet?" "suggest me some" "spill hot scathing coffee over his pants!" Mia joked. However, Violet was suddenly struck by an insporation. She magically sat up on bed, looking at Mia awed, "I love you!" Mia was taken aback. I love you from Violet has never been a good news! "You don't plan on actually burning him, so you?" she asked, apprehensively. "maybe I will, but you just gave me an idea for new article. Paul would love that! Twenty cruel ways of rejection-- or thirteen ideas to scare off a man you hate! yes! I'm gonna get to work" Violet Moore was an intern in a gossip magazine, writing wierd articles. Most of it were based on depressing ideas to break-up, Skive off dates, stay single, escape marriages.... the list is long. The point to note is that she herself has never been in one relationship in 24 years of her life. Her mother, worried of her never finding a match for herself if she kept writing such articles was adamantly searching for the ideal groom;Violet, cruelly rejects. In her defense, there was no man born on the earth to match the standards of The Violet Moore whereas Mia was quite sure there was no man on the earth born with the strength enough to put up with her shenanigans. Vilet would scare any man daring to approach by telling them wild horrific stories about her past non existing relationships of how she tortured her boyfriends in the name of 'protecting him' from other women. Men, who heard her stories felt themselves safer away from a pyscho-girl like her. Mia rolled her eyes watching Violet pacing around the room like a maniac, dressing up for work. "don't do anything stupid on the date this evening. Your mum will lose it this time" Violet rolled her eyes, "She has to stop her groom-hunting mission if she wants me to behave" she rushed out of the house kissing her best-friend and housemate, assuring her to be behaving enough. *** Violet, all the way to her office in the cab had written down the key points of the article to pitch to her boss, Paul for approval. She was in such a haste, that she didn't notice someone coming from the other side of the street and bumped into him, so hard that the notes of her atricle went flying all over the place. "--ohww--" "HolyShit!" she exclaimed, not bothering to apologize, she began gathering up her notes lying everywhere. "-you should see where you're going!" said a man, wiping off the stains of coffee spilled on his suit. "or you should use the toadlike eyes you were gifted" Violet snapped without looking up. "excuse me!" Violet gathered the papers and stood up, "you are excused. Lucky I'm in a bit of hurry" "it would be decent thing to least apologize" the tall man, dressed up in formal three-piece expensive looking suite crossed his arms looking at her with an expression, that reminded her of the control freak step-father se hated. "yeah, it would be. Shame decency doesn't come with dollars in your pocket" she rolled her eyes at him. The man took a deep breath, "do you know who I am?" he warned Violet watched him from head to toe for a second , "Yeah, some control freak rich business man with crazy ass expensive clothes on the street bumping arund and schooling strangers for manners, he himself doesn't practice" she answered back breathlessly and walked away. Matthew Horace blinked in surprise, frozen to the spot and watched the woman walk away. "who the hell was she?" he muttered under his breath, and turned to his car. He was already late for the meeting and now, with a coffee stained suite, would be unable to attend at all. He called his assistant to reschedule the meeting to some other time. He ordered his driver to drive home. After a day as he just had; lost project that cost him millions, a row with his father over the same subject-his engagement; the pestering annoying woman who claims to be the love of his life; and now, a cancelled meeting because another stupid woman just ruined his day; he was ready to get home and go invisible until the day ends. *** "Violet! Just the person I was hoping to see" Paul was unusually cheerful to the little disaster of his office walking in, inspite of the fact that she was an hour late, "I want to have a word with you, now, in my office" "err...I wanted to talk as well" she added, suspecting a notice of dismissal on the way by the cheerful look of her boss. He only smiles before firing someone or giving away a job none wants. "perfect! follow me" "I have an article idea" she said before Paul could begin with not-so-good-looking news. "I have a job for you too!" he said, smiling. uh-ho...its the second one... she sighed, at least I'm not fired today... "you have?" "heard about Matthew Horace?" "NO" "I heard about his dramatic break-up with rumoured girlfriend, who happens to be the daughter of his business associate too" "--and that is relevant...?" "because this is going to stirr up a lot of gossips. You are the break-up expert her emy dear" "--no I am not Paul" "Yes yu are. Find out the facts and I want a big detailed article about this" Violet sighed, "I am not a detective Paul, I write innocent articles" "--that straight leads to end of relationships, you are just the one" "why is it a job I am assigned?" "--err...because he is a very private person. It has to be some audacious person to pry and write about something this personal" she squinted her eyes at the boss, "Do I hear this may lead me to prison as well?" "ERR...That's unlikely. You are brilliant at what you do" unbelievable! "what if it does?" "I'll bail you out" she sighed, "Do i even have a choice?" "No" "fine" The future was just going to be so interesting....
