The Hidden Killer
The people were experiencing prosperity and advancement in technology by damaging the environment. The black smoke is rising to the blue sky. The waste and the polluted smoke emitting from the factories are damaging the world and causing havoc in our fragile ecosystem. The result is Global Warming. Once upon a time, when the Earth was developing, a virus called "Corona" or "Covid - 19" covered the whole world. People couldn't escape. The birth place of it was Wuhan city in China and took just about only a short period of three months to spread to the whole world. The World Health Organization(WHO) declared this virus as a global pandemic. The world's most Powerful countries such as, America, China, Japan, Russia, couldn't escape. Once Covid-19 was detected the people who used to walk, play, go to work, enjoy doing their day to day activities had to cover their faces and cover the beautiful smiles they wore on their faces with masks. There were also suggestions that it was a result of a test that was done in a Chinese laboratory. .But no one is yet sure about the exact reason. Some big and powerful countries were hit by the pandemic. But The Pearl of the Indian Ocean which is Sri Lanka had successfully faced the challenge and controlled it.
The president Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksha and his government took measures to control this virus. The first lady was infected with the Corona virus. The president and his government worked hard to protect his people from the virus without any hesitation. The government faced the first and second wave successfully and is currently facing the third wave.It seems like no matter how many more waves come, the president and his government is there to control the wave without any hesitation. So we wish them GOOD LUCK!!!
The scientists had sprung in to action with no time to vast. The pharmaceutical companies manufactured vaccines against the virus. Each an every powerful contries purchased many vacciens. The Sri Lanka, which is a developing country without any hesitation purchased vaccines as much as they could and began the vaccination proggramme across the country. Soon Sri Lanka became the third fastest country to vaccinate their people in the Asian Continent which no one expected. This duty was carried out by ARMY COMMANDER GENERAL SHAVENDRA SILVA AND THE TRIFORCES. The people who caged the animals are now caged in their homes and the animals are now walking freely in cities.
This virus is mutating into different kinds of variants unexpectedly.Examples for varients are, Delta and Alpha. Some scientists say that we have to learn to live with the corona virus. The point of this article is to explain to the reader that not all the people who have been infected with the Corona virus will die. In certain countries, the percentage of recovered patients are higher than the people who have died. The scientists emphasis that there is no clear evidence that the virus had been transmitted from animals to humans. However, some scientist point out that the virus may have the capability to jump from humans to animals. Therefore, they emphasis that it’s humans' duty to protect animals.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a procedure to get protected from the virus. It is,
Wear Masks
Keeping the distance
Wash or Sanitize the hands
Stay home as much as possible
Avoid places with crowd
Do not spitt on roads
Cover your mouth when sneezing/coughing
Engage in exercises at least hour a day
Take a healthy diet
Further the WHO says that if you follow this procedure, you will definetly be able to get protected from Covid – 19. When can people carry on with their normal life styles? It is not confirmed yet and no one knows for sure. This virus doesn’t only harm adults and their lifestyles but also children. Because of the impact the virus has on children, the governments had to search for other options of continuing their education. One option is to conduct Online classes. Children use computers, phones and tablets to access their class sessions through technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc. But the reality is that at least 50% of the children who live in under-developed or developing countries don’t have computers or phones to take part in virtual classroom sessions. One other negative fact the scientists have pointed out was related to eyes. Since children look at the screen continuously, their eye sight is getting weaker. One solution to this negative side effect is to look away from the screen after every 20 seconds of staring at the screen and blink the eyes several times.
EVERYONE LIKES TO BE FREE FROM THE VIRUS!!!
SO WE PREY, May the World Be free from the pandemic!!!!!
