                   Its Starday festival and the whole of Fairytown is filled with joyful melodies and activities as they anticipate the long awaited arrival of Nailah,the Fairy God mother and the shower of sweet star dust .Three of fairytown’s finest maidens would be selected as rulers of the three great cities in Fairytown :Antania,Narayi and Shan. A beautiful morning for Kaylan's family, everyone hopes she wins the contest and bring honour to her home . " Kaylan! Wake up sleeping beauty,Its starday!",even in her sleep she sure can recognise the soothing voice of her lovely mother . Kaylan had always been beautiful no wonder the whole town adored her ,everyone can almost bet she's winning the star trophy along side her old time friend . Half asleep ,Kaylan covered her ears just so she won’t receive any more instructions to leave her warm bed , "Well,fairy God mother would have to hold on for me ,I sure ain't moving an inches from this sweet smooth bed of roses " she said slowly and blushed ,pretending her mum was out of sight . "Oh dear ,I guess Anna would do just fine as the ruler of fairy town " “ mum,not now !Fairytown is a beautiful place to be ,I don’t have to be a ruler just to beat Anna,I want to make Fairytown more precious “ ,she said forcing a smile “My dress !” ,Kaylan jumped from her bed as if something sharp was thrown at her . Kaylan had ordered a champagne dress from the finest store in Fairytown which has not been delivered and its starday already . Her mum shrugged “oh my dear ,what shall we do ?” They looked at each other hoping someone would come up with a solution . FairyTown palace The star palace ,the most beautiful sight to behold in the whole of fairy town ,tall and finly built ,painted purple and white ,the scenery from the topmost roof gives you a perfect view of the great FairyTown. Beautiful illumination, scented flowers growing in a rhythm that catches the eyes ,throne made with gold and a pathways decorated with stardust .In each room of the palace are sculptures and gold piece made after Past rulers and heroes .The most important is the symbol of the three starstones,though empty ,its said that it is those precious stones are found in the crown of Nailah. Every fairy dreams of becoming a ruler just to have a glimpse of the palace comfort and enter into the Fairy town gold-dust lake .It is said that the lake gives eternal life and beauty to whomever dips his feet into it but only the pure of heart can, else they turn into a pillar of stone for ever . The people of fairy town gathered at the palace entrance as the festival was about to begin .A colourful day it was,red,blue,pink,white,all shades of beautiful ,just name it ,everyone wore their favourite dresses. " Open the gates! Her Royal majesty ,Queen Raya ,ruler of Antania has arrived " an officer announced ,sound of trumpets followed as the beautifully dressed Fairy walked in .An epitome of perfection, fair skin ,cherry lips,eyes that glitter as gold,hair as silk, and a soft smile that shone bright as the sun ,her presence could melt the heart like butter under sun .She has arrived in honour of the festival and to crown in the new ruler to Antania.Everyone loved her and cheered as she walked to the palace ,giving gifts and flowers to children. “pmmmmm rammmnmm” Trumpet sounds ,diverting the attention of everyone from Queen Raya. Everyone silent as a chariot sped in . " Queen Shaia.Fairy God mother help us this time " ,a women from the crowd frowned. " All hail the greatest ruler of the Narayi.Brave ,strong ,the fairest of them all,Queen Shaia" ,the officer announced . Every one dead silent as they waited for queen Shaia to alight her chariot .Well everyone but Sam and Gus,the twin brothers . They’re well known to be perpetrators of silly trick of massive destruction .They whispered while looking straight at the chariot that had arrived as if they were expecting something .Queen Shaia stepped out her chariot ,accompanied by two sea beasts . “ Aha!”,Sam was excited about something “Told you she was gonna bring her stupid dogs ,I win just as I always do “ he said proudly as he s*****d Gus from behind . “You win this time ,you just got lucky but sam…”,something caught his attention as he smiled mischievously “I just wish to get my hands on those babies and ride round town “,Gus said while staring at Queen shaia's two seabeats she kept as pets . “Huh ! Holy Fairy godmother ,that sure is a death wish ,snap out of it “,Sam replied with a frown “but on a second thought ,I guess Anna would consider dating me once you’re gone,I’m sure my dead brother wouldn’t mind “ Gus cut him short “ oh no you don’t say .Oh my Anna ! “.He could tell Sam was going to mock him because Anna tutores as their health teacher at FairyHigh ,besides they’re just kids. He tried so hard to keep a serious face, but laughed along with Sam . They laughed so loud that everyone turned .For a moment the twins had forgotten the palace was silent at the arrival of Queen shaia. “halt” Queen shaia turned to her guards “arrest them”. Sam and Gus never bothered explaining or begging .It wouldn’t matter anyways,no one except Fairy godmothers dares question her . Somehow ,the people had a look of relief and pity on their faces .Relief because they won’t have to deal with fixing damages from the Sam and Gus games this festival and pity because the twins were going to work themselves out as slaves for Queen Shaia for as long as she stays in the palace . Raya rose from her designated throne ,bowed as she welcomed Queen Shaia ‘welcome’. “uphhhh,cheap! She brushed passed her like no one was there. The third chariot approached and everyone cheered and began to sing the Fairytown anthem ‘laaa laaaaa Fairytown ! Yay! A home of peace and love ! We grow as one ! Never to be divided ! Hurray! Laa laaaaaa Fairytown! Yayyyyyyyy!’ The officer prepared himself to announce the arrival of the third ruler of Fairytown ,cleared His throat and fixed his dress “Alllllllll hail Que….” cheers.None one waited for an introduction,they all cheered so loud that he didn’t bother . Queen liah of shan, known for her courage .They say she takes after her forefathers who fought in the war against the great wizard ,her beautiful soul, act of servitude to her people ,simple and elegant yet her beauty strikes like sun on pure glass .Everything about her was welcoming ,from her smile to her chatisma,everyone loved her . “so good to be home” exhaled as she waved at everyone while the guards walked her to the throne .She slowly bowed to both Queen’s and sat calmly . Everyone kept cheering like they were expecting something .Queen liah smiled sweetly and rose from her throne .cheers.she took out her wand and waved it , It happened so fast …scented snow particles rained from the skies .Everyone waggled their wings and flew as they sang the anthem, Laa laaaaa… Snow flakes pixie was only a glimpse of what Fairy God mother was gonna pour down when she arrives. Kaylan’s Home Its an hour to the festival proper and her dress hasn’t arrived yet.Kaylan pacing to and fro her room restless . ‘What am I going to do now”,she said to herself Moments later the door bell rang,she ran like her life depended on it .As she opened the door ,a couple of fairies rushed to hug her ,Dina and Martha. “Pixie greetings soon to be Royal Highness, I hope you’re ready because”,somehow the smile on their faces faded away.Kaylan is still not dressed for the coronation! . “kaylan! What happened to your dress ?I thought you ordered it already “ Dina said looking so worried .Dina has always been her best friend since childhood ,they both dreamed of being a ruler but only Kaylan got a chance to contest .It was Kaylan’s duty to now help them fulfil their dreams . ‘I just wish Fairy God mother would appear to me just as she did with Cinderella in the stories mama reads to us “ Kaylan was sad . For some moment the room was silent .Suddenly she got her wish but this time there was no fairy god mother or glass slipper . Just a delivery guy at the door with her dress .Madam Fay ,her designer made sure to send a pretty pair of shoes as compensation for her late delivery .The girls screamed for joy and rushed into the room to get dressed . ‘You probably should make more wishes like this,it seems Fairy godmother already likes you ,she granting your wishes”,Marther said while combing her hair . Kaylan stylishly walked and turned to her friends “ well then ,shall I wish that you both be my friends for ever” They all laughed and said in harmony “Four of us together for ever “ Somehow they each remembered someone was missing but chose to be silent .Its definitely not a good day to talk about the fourth fella. All set and done ,they rushed out greeting Kaylan’s mum who had just arrived from the garden as they flew to the palace in a haste . Maria smiled “I knew they were going to forget something “. Kaylan had dropped the written speech she had prepared last night on the table.The speech she was up practicing, no wonder she woke up late. Back at the palace “Do we always have to bring so many change of clothes” ,a young charming gentleman said . “You know I always have issues fixing what to wear”, a young lady responded .Her red dress suit so perfectly ,she blushed as she beheld her beautiful self in a mirror “Anna I wouldn’t have to be dealing with all these If Kaylan were here,have you both reconciled ? Hmmm ,I miss her beautiful smile,” he looked like he was lost in thought as he blushed red. Anna threw a ball at him “you still have a crush in her ,don’t you ? “,she teased him “oh my sweet pickles is in love “ ,she brushed His hair smiling . Louis was already irritated, yet he blushed “i… I do…oh no,i don’t …she’s your friend ,sorry ,was your friend .I’m sure she doesn’t like me phhhhh” ,almost stammering .He tried so hard to fake the words but Anna knew her brother so well . “Well then ,I guess I shouldn’t bother talking to her ,its obvious you don’t like her that way,so sad because she tots likes you “ Louis faced lightened up” really! Anna laughed at his curiosity, “so which dress do I wear ,this orrrrr this? “ ,she raised two dresses for him to pick . “You look good in anything you wear Anna ,get it done already “,he smiled “uhhhhhh ,I wanna look really pretty,even prettier than my brother’s crush”,she said quietly only to tease him .Loius didn’t get the joke ,so she lauged and suddenly sighted a dress beind him . “oooouuuuuuu,I’d pick that one “ “finally” ,Louis said with relief. Cheers,laughter,sounds. It was almost time for Fairy god mother to arrive and crown the new rulers of Fairytown .The soon to be rulers were instructed to assemble at Fairytown lake for the final test of purity. Anna, on seeing Kaylan wanted to talk to her friend so badly but held herself back .She missed the precious moments they shared even as kids .she flashed back ,the times they practiced the Royal walk and wave ,the paper crowns they made for themselves,drawings of the kind of gown they’d wear, the love and beautiful moments they stood by each other even as they grew old.How did this kind of friendship go wrong ? .She held back her tears. Kaylan’s thoughts was same as hears .They both wanted their friendship back but no one took steps .They stared at each other for a while and managed to smile for courtesy sake . “I’m Toria and uhmmmm …” the third person spoke They both responded with a smile , “Anna” “I’m Kaylan “ Toria continued “someone just had to break the silence ,by the way I love your outfits “,then she pointed to the lake “ do you think we can pass this test and not turn to a pillar of stone ?I searched myself to make sure I have nothing against anyone ,I can’t let my people down “ she looked blank for a minute “Well,some kind of sin shouldn’t be held against you,we are normal fairies like the rest ,we only try to do what is right “,Anna said looking sad . “so ladies,what super powers do you wish godmother would give you ? Well I want everything ,especially the power to control water like Queen Shaia “,Toria seemed to be excited about the star powers . “I heard she took Sam and Gus as slaves phhh, do you ever wonder how she passed this stage alive and not turn to a pillar of stone ?” Anna agreed with kaylan but kept mute.She laughed within ‘yeah ,right kaylan she already has a heart of stone ‘ Kaylan looked to both of them and raised her arm “For Fairytown !” ,her voice was so loud that it echoed .They all laughed and said after her ‘For Fairytown ‘….’we are the new stars of Fairytown. The Great Arrival Almost midnight but the atmosphere suddenly felt warm and sweet ,and it started to rain .it rained star dust .Fairy God mother was present ,everyone lit their candles as they sang fairy town anthem ‘laaa laaaaa Fairytown ! Yay! A home of peace and love ! We grow as one ! Never to be divided ! Hurray! Laa laaaaaa Fairytown! Yayyyyyyyy! Oh hail the fairest Queen! A mother of mine! Mother to all! Ohhhh hail the fairest Queen! Laa laaaaaa Fairytown! Yayyyyy! Ohh my Fairytown !Hurray!!!! The three rulers of Fairytown rose up from their throne and raised their wands.Stardust rained down the more ,but this time in rainbow colours .And the people screamed for joy,every festival was a moment to experience the true beauty of being a fairy. Fairy God mother shined so bright that no one could see her .It is said that only crowned rulers can see her true beauty .They say her face glitters as gold ,her crown is decorated with three special stones representing the three cities in Fairytown. Her voice echoed “ I welcome you all to Star Festival .Beautiful people of fairy town, we are gathered here again to witness the coronation of three fine fairies and celebrate the power of true love that makes us who we are .I shall…” Thunder strikes…thick cloud covered the skies ,the wind was so strong ,it could pull the castle down . “Run!” Everyone ran looking for shelter ,confusion took over .This never happens at the star festival ,something just had to be wrong . Fairy town lake The fairies to be crowned were still expecting to see the fairy God mother .They had seen the rainbow star dust which proved she had arrived . “Holy pixie ! Look!” Kaylan pointed It happened so fast they couldn’t fathom what was happening .They thought to one another ‘Could this be part of the test? I have to be brave “ Fairy town lake stopped flowing ,it became solid ice.Anna sensed something was wrong ,it rained ashes now not pixie dust .The thick cloud seem odd.I’ve read something about such kinds of cloud,not good .The last book she read about the greatest Wizard of Fairytown mentioned thick cloud and ashes. She thought to herself “its probably a test but could it be the wiz…” she paused “oh no,Kaylan .This is no test we must leave “.She sounded so tensed “oh Anna ,you still wanna play your games of deceit ,not this time” ,Kaylan was ready to defend herself as if she had fought a war like this before . “What is going on ? Something has to be wrong” Toria said loudly as they could barely hear themselves as the strong wind blew with thunderstorms. “trust me this once Kaylan, we must leave “ tears almost rolling down Anna's eyes “No! I’d rather die trying to win this test ,I can never trust you “ “I never meant to hurt you Kaylan ,we were best friends ! I want my friend back , let me prove myself again “ “you lost your chance “,though Kaylan saw the truth in her eyes ,she looked away to Toria “ I’d rather trust her than follow you Anna” Her words drove nails into Anna’s heart .’Even in the midst of great storms ,our friendship shall be forever',that use to be their special motto .Today there was real storm and she just might not be able to save her friend . “Forever”,she said ,”I’d stay with you then ,I’d rather die protecting you than die regretting not being able to save you “ Main palace “Go! Go!! Go!!! Protect fairy godmother and the three queens “,an officer ordered the palace guards . “No ! Protect the people ,it’s Ferg!” Ferg.That name commanded fear and destruction. The last time that name was mentioned was years back. In their Ancient books,a wizard who became power thirsty sought to rule over all the cities of Fairytown and subject everyone to s*****y .The three rulers as of then :Queen Thessa,king Roe and king Gar fought with their lives to save the town .In honour of their bravery , three stones were made ,each bearing a symbol of their power ,the starstones .
