CHAPTER 1
"Say cheese!!!" "Cheese!!!" Elora and her colleagues from Los Angeles' culinary school chimed, as they grinned at the camera. This had been Elora's lifetime dream, to get a culinary certificate, and become one of the best chefs out of Los Angeles, and today, the first phase of that dream was becoming a reality. Elora suddenly left the group and began to pace from one place to another, scanning through the faces she saw there, but she didn't see the one person she wanted to celebrate with, her fiance, Ryan. "He couldn't make it. He had told me that he had urgent work at the office but would try to be here for me. I guess he was too swamped." Elora thought to herself. "I would just get wine and pizza, then go over to his place so we can celebrate together when he's back from work. Sounds like a plan." Elora's eyes gleamed with delight. She hailed a cab and was on her way. In no time, she was standing in front of Ryan's door. She moved to open the door with her key but it creaked open. “Could he be home and planning a surprise for me?” She thought to herself, as she pushed the door, walked into the living room, and dropped the wine and pizza on the center table. She saw a trail of clothes on the floor, just his shirt and singlet, so she believed he was too tired to put his clothes away, as it was a hot day. She picked them up, in a measly attempt to clean up after him. She walked up to the room stealthily in a bid to scream surprise to him, when she heard movements and sounds. The sound started getting louder as she approached the room. The room door was slightly ajar, so she readied herself to surprise him. Just when she was about to surprise him, her eyeballs almost fell out of its sockets in shock. Ryan was pinned to the wall, making out with a redhead stranger. Ryan's hands were all over her body and his guttural moans filled the room. They hadn't even noticed that there was someone else in the house with them, talkless of someone else watching their little escapade. With Elora's mouth trembling, tears welling up in her eyes, blurring her vision, and threatening to spill, Elora dropped the clothes she had in her hands on the floor, as her hands were trembling. The sound of the clothes hitting the floor brought Ryan and the redhead out of their little trance, before they noticed that they had a third party in the room with them. “Babe! Please, it's not what it looks like. Trust me.” Ryan said, as he pushed the redhead away and ran towards Elora. “What do you mean it's not what I think? Ryan! You were supposed to be there for me today, and you choose today out of all other days to do this to me?” Elora retorted with tears flowing down her cheeks. Elora turned from Ryan to storm out of the house, but Ryan gripped her wrists tightly. “Ryan, you're hurting me!” Elora said in between sobs, as she tried to break free from his grip. “Don't walk away from me when I'm talking!!! I'm sorry you had to see this, but there's nothing wrong with a man making out with his wife-to-be”, Ryan smirked, with a wicked glint in his eyes. “Wife-to-be? Ryan, I'm not the one you were just making out with. What are you even saying?” Elora questioned, as she creased her eyebrows in confusion. “It is quite unfortunate that you had to find out this way. Elora, meet Justina. The lady I will be getting married to, tomorrow.” Justina walked up to Ryan, grinning like a child who had literally just got her favorite lollipop. As Justina approached Ryan, he put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a peck on the cheek, which she leaned onto. “This should be the joke of the century. Ryan, you proposed to me. I said yes to you. You've met my family, so what are all these things you're saying? For f**k's sake, this is your ring on my finger.” Elora screamed out of frustration, flashing the engagement ring on her finger in Ryan's face. “I'm breaking off my engagement with you. I wish you found out under better circumstances, though. Besides, this wouldn't be happening if you weren't so you.” Ryan said, with an accusatory tone. Justina was looking at Elora with a smug smile playing on her lips and Elora wished Daphne, her best friend, was with her at this moment because Daphne would've wiped that smug smile off Justina's face. “Are you blaming me for the fact that you're a lying, cheating son of a b***h!” Elora blurted out. “It is your fault. You are never spontaneous and you're always about work and planning things. You don't excite me, Elora” Ryan mentioned, with a deceitful compassionate look. Elora's hands balled into fists. "Did he just say that? After he made me sore several times from the different s*x positions he tried every time I came over?" These thoughts ran crazy in Elora's head. Elora stormed out of the room to the living room where she had kept the wine and pizza, picked the wine up, and returned to the room, throwing the bottle of wine towards them. Ryan pushed Justina out of the way and the glass shattered into pieces on the wall. “Elora! Are you crazy? You nearly killed us. What is wrong with you?" Ryan yelled, staring daggers at Elora. Elora was seething with rage. "She's just a bitter little bitch." Justina sneered, as she checked her body for injuries. "That's it." Elora charged towards Justina, intending to drag her out of Ryan's house. Justina and Elora got into a screaming fit during their little squabble, whilst Ryan struggled to separate them. He was finally able to separate them, and in a fit of rage, he grabbed a fistful of Elora's luscious hair and dragged her out of the room. "Ryan, stop, you're hurting me. How could you do this to me?" Elora cried as she struggled to get Ryan's hand out of her hair. Elora lost her balance and fell on the floor, but Ryan was still dragging her by the hair until he reached his front door and opened it. He threw her out and warned, "This better be the last time I see you lurking around my house. Good riddance to bad rubbish." With that, Ryan shut the door to a weeping Elora, who was whimpering in pain on Ryan's front yard.
