Finally the bus starts to pull up to the Academy and wow wow wow this place looks like a real castle!

It’s vintage style bricks make it really stick out and I love that.

It’s got an old fashion yet modern structure.

Reminds me of something out of one of the many mystical books I read.

“Yo.. Is this the real Hogwarts. Where’s Hermione?”

Asher jokes and Danny starts laughing.

“For sure it is bro but without the magic wands sadly.”

Matty says with a frown then starts laughing too and goes to stand up and move down the line to get off the bus.

Holy smoke show he is so tall..

He’s gotta be like six three and brawny.

I quickly stop myself from staring at his back before I start drooling.

Danny stands and gets behind him then Ash stands and purposely takes a step back and has me go in front of him probably for me to avoid any contact with Carter.

Whatever I’m not going to argue over it.

It’s our first day and we need to just get through it in one piece.

I’m standing behind Danny as we start moving.

I get off the bus and it’s beyond crowded like there’s people everywhere.

No wonder it’s not a regular school.

This place is magnificently huge.

It’s also surrounded by woods and I can see why it’s on the other side of town.

Tax payers must be happy about this ginormous building I laugh to myself.

I see there are other buses doing some drop offs and plenty of cars parked in the parking lots. Students just chilling everywhere.

Yup I’m for sure going to get lost here. There’s no way I’m not..

It’s still a little early so I’m sure most of the students hang outside before the first bell anyways.

“Why don’t you guys follow me and we can figure out where your homeroom is.

I’m pretty sure mines across from yours.”

Danny says once Ash steps off the bus.

He’s a really sweet guy.

I’m happy we met him and his brother.

I can just feel that him and Ash will be the best of friends by the end of this year if not brothers.

They are so similar.

So far all I hear them talk about is sports but as time goes on maybe he can convince Ash to leave that toxic girlfriend of his behind and focus on his future..

Which is literally anything else.

Things are starting to really look up and that makes me so happy for him.

He deserves it.

He’s always looking out for the ladies in his family and now it’s his turn to shine!

The three of us start walking and I look around my surroundings to see everything while the guys talk.

Walking over to where the large entrance is I see a huge fountain smack in the middle of it with tons of seating around it.

Now that’s my kinda weakness.

A good place to read and relax.

I honestly hope we are allowed out here for lunch or a free period because that’s where you’ll find me or maybe sitting under one of these several oak trees.

The scenery is just beyond beautiful.

I keep looking around trying not to fall behind the guys too much.

It looks like the school also has a designated smokers area.

Good for them.

I’ve never been one to smoke cigarettes..

Not that I ever had a chance to actually try one before but I already know I won’t they are gross and a bad habit.

Although I can’t really hate on one some else’s choices because to each their own I remind myself.

There’s actually a crowd over there and guess who I see over there chatting it up with pretty much everyone there..

Yup Carter.

He must’ve felt that someone’s looking at him and locks eyes with me yet again.

This time smirking with a cigarette to his lips.

Who does he think he is?

James Dean?

Seriously I don’t understand his problem..

I’ve definitely had enough of this game and I guess the things people say about him are true.

I look away from him and look at my brother who is talking to Danny about the football team.

“Hey Ash I’m kinda hungry.

I only had juice before we left.

Can we hit the cafeteria quickly before homeroom pretty please?”

I say loud enough for them to gravitate their attention towards me as we are moving closer to the main entrance of the building.

“Damn I really would sis but I wanted to put my crap in the locker room first.

Danny is gonna show me since we got try-outs after school today and if we are starting a new chapter here I want to make a good impression.

I’m sorry but I will definitely save you a seat in homeroom if I’m there before you.”

Asher says to me as the three of us enter the building.

I also just realized Matty hasn’t been with us this entire time.

He must’ve found some friends since he is a grade above us so it makes sense or maybe he met up with his girlfriend.

Like common I’m sure a guy like him would have one or several girls chasing him..

I think to myself before being pulled out of my thoughts once more as we enter inside the building.

“Woah this place is super nice compared to our last school.”

Asher says out loud to us.

“Nice doesn’t even begin to describe it bro.

Just wait until I show you the gym and work out room.

We have so many extracurricular activities here and a big school budget.

It looks great on applications for college too and I know we are just Freshman but I plan on going into business someday if my football career doesn’t take off.”

Danny says to us.

“Listen Ash you are the best linemen they could have.

They should be honored to get a tank like you.

And Danny I don’t know you too well but I’m gonna try to make it to a few games this year so don’t disappoint me when I’m cheering you two on.”

I look at them both smiling.

“Oh and please please save me a seat if you get to homeroom first bro.

Don’t forget..

Or I claim the whole terrace to myself! Hehe. Love you so much”

I say to Ash sticking my tongue out.

Danny is still a little rosy in his face as he smiles wide at me nodding.

Ash lets out a laugh and tells me not to worry and let’s me know he loves me too before they disappear into the crowd of students going towards the gym.

“Asher!

Wait I don’t know where the cafe is!”

I yell for him realizing he’s got Danny and I have no personal tour guide..

Dang it I mumble to myself.

I’m too late.

They are both long gone.

So I decide to start walking down the big corridor.

Truthfully I can’t even begin to know where to start in this place but this has to lead somewhere close plus I think I can smell food and coffee..

I stop for a moment to look around for any kind of sign and like the id.iot I am.

I turn to my right bumping into someone..

“Oh god I’m sorry I’m new here and I..”

I start rambling on picking up my bag off the floor that fell of my shoulder before looking up to see none other than Carter.

“You don’t need to explain yourself to me beautiful.

My names Carter Hayes and I should be the sorry one.

Listen about what happened on the bus back there it was just a harmless joke my buddies and I like to play on a girl if we are attracted to them..

You know kinda like a form of bro code if you will.”

He flashes me a beautiful smile forcing me to look at his face and into the same blue eyes from the bus..

I must admit he is pretty cute now that he is standing right in front of me..

He’s tall.. I can see he has some facial hair too.

I scoff at his words.

“And that works?

Well let me start by introducing myself then. I’m Aspen Gray and I’m not interested.

That little charm you play on the girls here will not work on me but A for effort.”

I say with attitude before turning away from him..

This freaking guy I think to myself as I feel him lightly touch my arm before I can slip away.

“Wait, I’m sorry and your right that was wrong of me..”

He starts to say but is cut off by another voice I kinda recognize.

I take my eyes away from Carter and see Matty standing there with his arms folded across his chest looking a bit annoyed?

Why the heck would he have any reason to be annoyed..

Unless Asher must’ve told his new friends to spy on me..

Great.

I thought he said he would go easy from now on..

MATTHEW’S POV

I saw her standing there talking with that loser and it took everything in me to try and walk away but when I saw her turn to leave and he touched her I sorta lost my cool..

Why does he have to keep bothering her?

As if trying to get a reaction out of her on the bus wasn’t enough..

I can’t stand that kid and how he thinks he can get any girl.

I mean sure I have enough of the girls here trying to get at me but none of them are her..

When I saw her for the first time finding a seat on the bus being shy putting her head down I just couldn’t help myself from wanting to sneak a few glances at her beautiful face when she was looking around.

I even pretended to listen to her brother and Danny’s conversation’s..

Don’t get me wrong football’s my life but there’s other things important to me too.

I walk over to to them with my arms crossed and say loud enough to get their attention.

“Can’t take a hint? She wants to be on her way.” I say directly looking at Carter.

“What’s it to you Parker?” He replies within inches from me.

“Alright you guys can bicker all day but unlike you both it’s my first day and I am just trying to get to the cafeteria before going to homeroom so I’ll be seeing y’all around.” Aspen says with a wink and walks away as fast as she can..
