Outburst

I head up to my room and I change out of my school uniform and lay in my bed for a moment taking in the day.. Welp those essays aren’t going to write themselves so I might as well get on it.. After spending a few hours doing some homework I head downstairs. Ash and Sage in the living room playing their video game. Mom in the kitchen making dinner. I go see if she needs any help. “Hi honey. Did you take a nap when you got home?” She asks me. “No I’ve been working on homework. It feels like I have so much.” I tell her as I sit at the table. “Awe well that’s high school for you kiddo. I do not miss it but Aspen you will do great don’t overwhelm yourself so early in the year.” She says starting to plate food. “Thanks mom. I love you.” I say to her and she smiles. “I love you too sweetie.” She says. “Do you need any help?” I ask her and she shakes her head. “No I made chicken stir-fry and some rice so it was pretty simple. It’s actually already done. If you want to get your siblings for me that would be so great.” She says. “You got it!” I smile happily walking back into the living room. Ash is now changing his babies diaper and Sage watching him making comments to get him going. I laughed a little seeing it play out. “Yeah yeah yeah it so funny you guys.” Asher says. “Dinner is done.” I say. “Oh Ash don’t be a cry baby. It’s all harmless.” Sage says with a wide grin running into the kitchen. “Wait until you get to do this one day punk!” He shouts and we can hear Sage laughing hysterically. “So you gonna tell me what the heck is with you today?” Ash says as I go to turn and walk back into the kitchen for dinner. “What are you talking about?” I ask him. “For starters breakfast was weird as fu.ck.. You wanna tell me what’s going on with you and Matty? The moment you left he was absolutely furious with his ex and they argued in front of us all then he stormed away. I had to sit there and pick up the pieces because Shay is my partner for this stupid project.” He said kinda agitated. “There is nothing going on. He is my friend. Don’t put yourself in their drama Ash. Who cares if Shay is your partner. He has nothing to do with her either.” I say calmly trying to choose my words carefully.. “Are you two coming to eat or what? It’s getting cold!” Mom shouts from the kitchen. “Yeah! Sorry mom!” Asher shouts back. “Aspen you need to be careful. Guys will get you wrapped up into a ton of sh.it. Matty seems like a good guy but we hardly know him or anyone here for that matter. I don’t want to see you getting hurt. I also think you should skip Kimi’s party. It will be too much for you.” He says putting his baby down on the couch and walked past me to go into the kitchen. “What? Your trying to tell me I shouldn’t go? Me be careful? Asher do you not know who I am? Suddenly I’m making friends and now I need to take a step back? That’s bull.sh.it and you know it. If anything YOU stay home. I’m going to a sleepover that MY friend is having. There’s no reason for you to go.” I say with so much force holding my head high then push past him to the kitchen and in my seat for dinner.

ASHER’S POV

To say I am speechless is an understatement.. What the f***k was that? Her attitude lately has been something else. How are we suppose to communicate when she just blows up. Somethings going on with her and Matty I just have a feeling. He better not hurt her.. I might be smaller than Matty but now I have Sev in my corner. Danny is a good friend and I don’t want problems with him because his brother hurts my sister but for me it’s family over anyone or anything. High school so far is wack. It’s good one day and bad the next. Thankfully for this party tonight because I need to release some tension. Being drunk with your buddies all weekend I am more than ready for that. Sev will be picking us up in a bit. We all decided that if the girls are sleeping over until Sunday then we might as well too in case anything was to happen. I waltz into the kitchen and begin eating the second I sit down. Knowing Ella will start acting up and I’ll have to change a diaper or feed it.. Beyond creepy might I add. I swear it watches me sleep. It better not be alive or worse.. Mr. Young watching all his students from a built in camera.. This project is bs though. I could careless for the doll but I hate writing. All this project is based on is writing.. Packets and essays of data taken from our experiences. It just sucks a.ss. No other way to put it. I realize Asp doesn’t have one anymore and hasn’t really said why yet.. I wonder what she did to not have one.. “You are awfully quiet today Asher. Everything okay?” I hear mom say breaking me out of my thoughts.. “Yeah mom just tired. This baby project is something else.” I say just knowing mom will bring up Aspen too and we can find out the true reason behind it. “Oh I’m sorry to hear that. It is not easy being a parent so I hope you and your sister take much responsibility into this project. How is yours going Aspen?” Mom says to me then looks over to Aspen. She sinks into her seat picking at her food with her fork.. “Um.. About that..” She says sounding nervous. “What happened?” Mom asks not wasting any more time. “Well my partner for the project is having some trouble at home.. He.. He accidentally threw our project over the railing of his staircase at his parents and it busted open.. Wait! Before you say anything they replaced it with a brand new one but Mr. Young is still pretty upset so we have to do four essays for the punishment. I will still keep my grades up I promise mom.” Aspen says starting to tear up. “Sweetie it’s okay. I know you will you are incredibly smart. Is this partner trouble for you?” She asks, “No he is not. He’s a really good friend. His parents are just always away and the one time they are suppose to be back for a while they tell him they are off again. He’s going through a lot so I’m trying to be there for him during this time. The essays aren’t bad.” Aspen says wiping her eyes. “That changes my views on him a bit. Sorry to hear he’s having issues.” I say to Asp and she smiles. There’s my sis. She’s just dealing with a lot. This weekend will be fun and I’m going to try to not say anything and let her do her thing while I do mine.. I finish up, grab baby Ella and walk up to my room. I open my door and sit at my desk quickly jotting down some information on my packet when I realize what the f***k am I going to do about this doll while I’m gone all weekend?! I finish up and put the packet away then go to Sage’s room. I knock just in case you never know with these middle schoolers. “Come in!” I hear her yell so I open the door. She’s just laying in bed watching tv. “Hey Ash.” She says sitting up. “Hey kiddo I gotta favor to ask.. Would you um.. watch my baby until Sunday morning?” I ask her with a cheesy smile. Her mouth drops. “Please please please Sage!” I say loudly getting on my knees begging. She starts laughing hysterically on her bed. “Oh this is GOLD!” She says shouting excitedly and takes her phone out. “Hey! What are you doing?” I say standing up quickly. She hasn’t stopped laughing and is now taking small breaths in between with her hand on her chest. I just roll my eyes. She’s takes a big breath in and out. “Woo that was SO funny Ash. Truly you made my night. Also I needed proof so I took what I needed! My friends will love it!” She says laughing again. “No but seriously I was going to say yes anyways Aspen asked me earlier because you both will be out so she wouldn’t be able to. Just know if I f***k it up it’s still on you.” She says and I chuckle. “Of course she did. Well thanks sis I appreciate it and trust me it’s fine just text or call me if it goes south. Come get your baby for the next 24hrs.” I say to her and walk out her room to mine. I hear her groan then see her walk into the hall. I get to my room and grab the bag of essentials she will need plus the doll itself. “If you could write down a few different things that happen tomorrow and your experience, how you felt blah blah in a note pad so I can transfer it to my homework that’d be great.” I say with a big smile handing everything over. “Baby’s name is Ella.” I say to her. “Right. You got it bro. You owe me big for this one just remember that.” She said with a mischievous smile and leaves my room. I walk over to my door shouting trouble maker and she turned around sticking her tongue out. I just laugh shutting my door getting ready. I go for simple pair of black jeans and a black tee shirt. I check out my hair and brush my teeth before Sev’s texting me saying he’s outside. I grab my backpack to stuff a few items when I start to hear lots of noise so I assume he came into the house. I finish up and head over to Aspens room. I knock a few times before opening the door. She’s not in here so I head downstairs. I walk into the kitchen to see Sev with mom and Sage. Mom talking his ear off. He nods to me. “Hey where’s Asp?” I ask Sage. “She went to her friends sleepover already the girls picked her up earlier.” She says. “Oh I had no idea. Well that’s alright I will see her Sunday.” I say back. “Or you could just text her like a normal person.” Sage says laughing. “Yeah I could.” I say laughing because little do her and mom know that we will be in the same place this weekend. “You ready bro?” I ask Sev and he says bye to my mom and sister. We head out to his car. I really do love this thing. I hope to get a car when I get my license but chances are I will be needing to pay for it so job first. “I hate we haven’t known each other sooner. Growing up would have been awesome.” Sev says as we get in and he turns the ignition on to drive away. “I know dude. It would have been great but now we can do those things. Like hitting this party!” I say to him getting pumped up and he starts laughing. “f***k yeah!” He shouts and blasts the music as we drive there.
